The hotel is under renovation. The work is not happening currently. AC is very old not cooling properly.

Affordable price. They provided early morning checkin and late checkout without additional charges. 24 hrs accessibility to the help desk and rooms. Huge parking space available.

We felt like the hotel was in middle of construction site and parking lot together,because of the outside area. Didn't provide the remote control for the AC. And the bathroom. Oh, the bathroom was real piece of work - the ventilation is shared with the bathroom of room next door, so you could hear (and smell) everything what was happening in other guests bathroom (and vice versa).

It is close to the bus station and market, but still enough quiet. The staff was friendly.

The room was not that clean, nor the outside area around the building. It looks like an area where vehicles are parked, and in the rear garden, old vehicles were parked. Our first breakfast was late by more than 30 minutes. The area where we had breakfast was not clean. It would have been less stressful if the front desk had presented the bill the previous evening of the checkout date. Instead, it was presented on the early morning of our checkout. The air-conditioning is leaking inside the room. The front desk area is an unorganised chaos!

The central location. The mini refrigerator in the room is handy, although it is an old one. At least one front desk employee could converse in proper English. The takeaway breakfast in a box was good.

Aircon had amind of its own. Breakfast was Sri Lankan 3 types of curry and some dry type noodle not a big fan of curry but ate it.

Staff were helpful, room clean area not bad. Checked in early and checked out late due to me leaving on the 9pm bus.

To be honest, I had to check few rooms until I settled to a clean one.. The outdoors area looks promising, but not clean.. Bird poop on the chairs within the garden area.. It was a real hassle getting the WIFI password(!) and finally I got it, and it was the slowest.. So, all in all.. It was a pleasant stay, with few hiccups that if properly handled this place could be great! I mean the price isn't so cheap for Srilanka.. You expect it easier to have a clean hotel and working WiFi.. Especially with nice staff.. I hope they fix these issues

The room was spacious, location in the heart of Jaffna near the bus stand, comfortable bed.. The room had a minibar, kettle and AC Some staff members were nice and shared with me trip advice (Thanks Ajay)

Breakfast is simple, and hotel is in an "old" state. However, if that doesn't bother you, then this place is great (we both slept solid on the good matress)

Spacious room, great bed (good matress). Airco is quite noisy, but works properly. The hotel is old, not superclean: but do consider that you reached Northern Sri Lanka and standards are clearly different from Western hotels. Staff really tries to serve you well.

If you have asthma I recommend another hotel... 1 of the 2 original rooms was not cleaned up when we arrived...

The staf did everything they could to help and changed our rooms to a private room because of health issues..it worked...with some compromises They were eager and wanted to please there customers!👍 They helped with everything we needed👍

The environment is not good as shown in the photos provided in booking sites.hotel is not well mintained. Although got booking on BB basis food provided was from outside kitchen as the restuarent was not functioning.No breakfast tea or coffee was provided. Just the cups. Food was cold and dry. Served in an unclean open dinning area which had a broken washbasin gully overflowing with dirty water. Had to pay Rs.900/= for water bottles privided at the check out.Always had to go and ask for water bottles from staff furing the stay. In bath room Faucet knobes were broken and came into hand when opening taps. One day water flowing stopped while showering and it took more than 30 min to make it work. The room AC had to operate manually after climbing on to a one of the beds as remote controller was not functioning. The bed linens, towels were stained and had holes. The hotel need overall maintenance and good staff attitude .

Location is good being in the city center as it is convenient to access public transport.

My stay at Gnaanams hotel was very comfortable. The staff was friendly, the room was okay, and the location was perfect for exploring the city. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

When we got there they had no idea about booking, I had to show them booking info in my phone many times. First room they put us in they said we had to move ac not working, second room was not the room we booked, had 2 single beds instead of double and single we paid for. Room we ended up in had a bad odour of what smelled like cigarettes. No wifi or tv working and the fan rattled noisily, had it not been so hot would have turned it off. Staff did make efforts to rectify things best they could.

Great location and price and breakfast was amazing, the staff member (sorry forgot his name) that served us breakfast both days as well as chats with good info during our stay was amazing, he really made our stay which didn’t start well at the beginning.
