Staff took a lot of prompts to be helpful. I requested an airport transfer and the gentleman replied that the vehicle was booked (fair enough). I had to ask him if alternate timings were available and it took an hour to confirm. Also price to airport was extortionate - for reference it cost more for a 25 minute journey than it did to hire a driver for 8 hours in Colombo

Solid hotel, ideal for the airport if you have an early or late flight. Decent facilities and some nice restaurants nearby

The only things I didn't like and I've mentioned it before is the pool surround tiles are not a good quality of an anti-slip tile. the other thing is you can never get a member of staff to stay by or in the pool swim up bar I found myself as others did looking and fetching someone to serve and that was a daily event!

The initial room we had booked was very hot (30 degrees) and had small insects crawling all over the counter. However after complaining, we eventually got upgraded to a better room which was nice of the staff. Bit the best pool area - the property on the whole looks a bit tired.

Lovely hotel, great location on the beach, friendly and helpful staff, huge room with seaview, comfortable bed, and lovely bathroom, great breakfast, perfect place for a relaxing break. Will be back and spend longer next time!

Some of the bar and dining staff were very short with you. On one occasion I wanted to pour my own beer which nearly led to a wrestling match with the waiter. Asked reception to print out boarding passes. They gave me an email for reception but the email box was full and they did not know how to clear it. Evening Buffet was average and very expensive. More than a much better buffet in the Galle Face Hotel.

Return flight was at midnight. if they offered a Late check out when requested would have made it our stay much more enjoyable. Had to check out at noon and wait in the lobby for a 3 hours for the ride to the airport. Guest comfort and satisfaction should be their 1st priority.

- poorly organized laundry service - very monotonous breakfast buffet and really very bad coffee

- friendly and helpful staff - Possibility of "early check-in" (most flights arrive in Colombo early in the morning, but check-in at the hotels is not scheduled before 02.00 pm) - very good value for money - well organized housekeeping - my recommendation: Rukshi at the reception and Pradeep as guest relations - good location for restaurants and shopping

Some of the bar staff were abit grumpy a lot of the time but I think that was down to the long hours they worked.

Could have done with some bacon at breakfast. By 7am nearly all sun beds had towels on so no chance of sitting by the pool. Someone must be getting tipped to do as no people around.
