Good location, on the top of the hill, over looking the lake and the entire city. Nice view. Big bedroom, big double beds were provided. Banana plants right outside. Chef, wait staff and hosts were nice. Food was good. Walkable distance to the temple although there is a climb.

Nice room, could be a bit cleaner, great view from the balcony. just a few minutes walk from the lake (but up the hill, so consider tuk-tuk).

Cleanliness can be improved, noticed cobwebs in the shower area.

The service and staff are exceptionally good and welcoming - especially Mr. Insar Mohothar. They served authentic sri lankan food in buffet. I did not book the lake view room which I regret, but the stay was pretty comfortable. In case you are are planning to stay here go for the lake view it promises a magnificent view of lake view and Tooth temple.

The school nearby started up band practice at 5am every day and woke me each morning. Pretty annoying, even if not the hotel’s fault. Wasn’t particularly inspired to eat in the restaurant, but it might have been okay. Annoyed me on checkout that I had to explain, wrangle and argue over paying the dry cleaning bill on card (as agreed a day previous) as part of the overall tab - which was processed on card.

From our room on the first floor we didn't have much of a view, even though we had a balcony/terrace for which we were charged extra. The lunch we had ordered was very very average.

The view from the property was very good. The double room was small but sufficient. The staff was very nice and welcoming. One of them even helped us out personally when we didn't find a taxi.

My evening meal wasn’t great, I asked for egg Koffu and had to send it back twice as was undercooked and too salty. The chef was accommodating however and remade it for me. Although the final version still was a bit undercooked. The Sri Lanka breakfast was really good though.

The sheets on our bed were ripped in multiple places. On check-in the manager stated that we must pay the total fee agreed in our booking PLUS the booking.com commission. When I refused and said that the commission was included in our total he made a phone call and then apologised saying it was his mistake.

Good bathroom with spacious shower that offered hot water and good pressure...a rarity in many hotels in Sri Lanka. WiFi good.

We stayed just one night, so, everything was fine

The hotel is a 3-storey building, that looks like a villa with few rooms, thus very homey and cozy. The view from the balcony is amazing, full lake view, in the morning we've got beautiful pics with sunrise. The receptionist was very kind, we arrived late, nevertheless, we were taken care of, room was nice, they cooked a some salad for us, and fixed the wifi (we stayed at the top floor). The bathroom, was very clean, teapot with some tea was available in the room.

Slow breakfast, lack of charm.

Well located small hotel overlooking the lake in Kandy. Functional rather than gorgeous. We booked 2 rooms, one over looked the lake the other looked at a back wall and was dark. However, the manager did change the latter room when we complained - so just make sure you get a lake view! The breakfast was the slowest in our whole trip so if you are catching the 8.45am to Ella train, book breakfast early!

Although the location of the hotel is very good, it is located up a small hill. It’s not too steep and only a 5 minute slow walk from the main road. (It wasn’t a problem. Just a precaution for others) The hotel room itself was quite small, smaller than we expected from the photos we saw. The bed was small for a double and there’s not much space all around the bed. The bathroom is also quite small and getting hot water from the shower was hit and miss for us two throughout our stay. It would be good to have a menu for breakfast. It’s either western breakfast or Sri Lankan breakfast. On our first morning we asked for a Western breakfast and the second morning we asked for a Sri Lankan breakfast, and on both days we got the same thing. Omelet with sausage and potato, with toast and fruits. We felt the facilities of the hotel were more like a 2 start hotel but the staff and location bring it up to a 3 star hotel. Compared to the other hotels we stayed at in Sri Lanka this wasn’t 4 star as advertised.

The location of the hotel to the tourist attractions is very good. It’s a short walk into the city centre and Royal Palace. The views from the balcony over looking Kandy city centre and lake are beautiful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They really show that they want to help and make our stay as comfortable as possible. The staff tried to help us find train tickets to Ella as our tickets were cancelled last minute. Even though they were unsuccessful, they tried really hard for us and we appreciated their efforts. Breakfast was good but nothing to boast about. Just a good way to start the day. If you are into animals and wild life, in the morning after breakfast we saw quite a few monkeys on our balcony.

Dirty towels and our room didn’t have hot water. The hotel's Spice Garden recommendation turned out to be a scam, and dinner was overly salty and quite small portion sizes.

They don't like if you came back too late from town.

The amazing view of the lake, Kandy city and big balcony. We got an upgrade to the upstairs room for our stay and it was perfect. The rooms dowstairs has only parcial view because of the landing roof. Good breakfast and walking distance to main attractions. Happy with the choice.
