The place was very quiet, close to rice fields and a lake where people go in the evening to cool down. At last moment we changed for the room with A/C as it was very hot and we were happy about it The breakfast was tasty for us, one of the most tasty that we had since more than one month travelling in Sri-Lanka The owners were full of kindness 🙏, Sadeepa arranged us bikes, tuk-tuk and shared a lot of useful informations 20 min by bike to Lion Rock

There is just one small fan in the room so the room can get very hot. If there was another floor fan, everything would be spot on.

This guesthouse is one of the best places I stayed on my three week trip in Sri Lanka. Sadeepa and his family are incredibly generous and could not do enough to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast was plentiful and super tasty, as was the dinner. The room was very spacious and clean. There is also an incredible view of Lion Rock just outside of the property.

The family that runs the guest house is super friendly and helpful. When you need transport from anywhere, they have their own tuktuk and can take you anywhere on request. The breakfast was delicious. We have really enjoyed staying with Sadeepa and his family!!

We had such an incredible time staying with Sandeepa, Chandra and the rest of the family. We highly recommend you book your accommodation here with them! The homestay itself is close enough to the city and restaurants that you can walk or easily tuk tuk to Lion Rock, Pidurangala Rock, etc. But it’s also in the jungle enough that you can enjoy a view of the rock, with just the sounds of monkeys and birds when you wake up. The rooms are big, and very clean. The fan is enough at night to cool you and the mosquito nets keep you from getting bitten. And then the kindness and generosity that the family greets you with is unmatched. The breakfasts every morning were some of the best we’ve had in a month traveling South Asia. Fresh, delicious and filling. They even make breakfast for you late if you come back from a morning tour. And they are happy to advise you on things to do in the area (or what not to do in the case of running into wild elephants!). In fact, we chatted with Sadeepa about our upcoming safari plans in Udawalawe and he commented to us the Eco Park in Habanara actually had a lot of elephants at the moment, and helped us arrange a safari that was considerably less expensive than the one we had planned, with far fewer tourists! We loved our stay at the Hillside View Villa and would have stayed even longer if we could have!

Sadeepa was very helpful and gave us a lot of information and Tips for our stay in Sigiriya. The room is very spacious, clean and comfortable. The whole family is super kind and friendly! They even brought us to the bus station for free and we got our breakfast for take away because we had to leave early! I would definitely stay here again!

We can’t find better place than here, middle nature with Lion Rock view from big terrace, room basic but clean, with hot water. Beautiful garden where we can see a lot of monkeys. The owner is very friendly and helpful. The breakfast has large choice. Recommend!

That we only stayed for 2 nights and not more!

Everything was perfect. Sadeepa and his family were so lovely and accommodating, always there to help us and offered so much travel advice locally and generally in Sri Lanka. We arrived in Sigirya with no real plan of what we were going to do (bar knowing we wanted to climb the Lion rock) but without even asking, Sadeepa gladly recommended and arranged a safari for us, as well as all transport to and from both that, Pidurangala (cheaper and better view than the Lion rock!!), and to our early morning bus stop. The area is stunning and a perfect little getaway with incredible views of nature and the Lion rock, but also an easy walk to the main strip of Sigirya in case you are in want of cafes/bars/restaurants etc. Our food was simple but delicious and again I cannot express how generous and kind him and his family are. The room is simple but that’s what made it so special, and has a lovely little patio area outside which is where we ate and relaxed in the morning and evenings. Again, I can’t recommend the Sigirya Hillside View Villa enough!

The Homestay experience was really good, the hosts were very helpful, friendly and responsive. The room itself was spacious and clean, the surroundings are beautiful with a nice view of the rock and paddy fields all over , and a nice lake a couple of minutes away. The food was absolutely delicious, I had dinner and breakfast, the curries were simply superb , varied and home style. All in all a very good, comfortable and enriching stay

This was the best homestay in Sri Lanka. The family was so nice and helped me with everything, I got a cup of coffee when arriving, the room was beautiful and very clean. The location was on walking distance from town but very peaceful and the view amazing. Breakfast amazing. You get a lot for a low price. And they showed me around in the area. Very lovely!

This place is the epitome of Sri Lankan hospitality and friendliness. In all of our travels we have never experienced the same level of genuine care, interest and helpfulness. The room is spacious and in its own building with a generous covered verandah amongst trees. Rice paddies adjoin with beautiful views out to sigiriya rock. It's a short walk into the main shops and to 'off the beaten track' lakes and temples. The breakfast is exceptional. The dinner as much so. The whole family gets involved in making your experience so authentic and enjoyable. This really is an incredible place and we would not hesitate to stay here again. You will not regret booking to stay here.

It was a bit hot in the room. We opened the windows and it was fine, but an extra fan in the room would have been great.

The owners were incredible! Such kind and generous people. Sadeep was very helpful and he even took us around Sigiriya. Great location, quiet and peaceful. Swimming in the lake nearby was a beautiful experience. Breakfast was really nice!

We stayed for 3 nights at Sigiriya Hillside View Villa and it was just amazing. The place looks exactly like in the pictures. The view on the Lions Rock and rice fields are just great!! The rooms were specious and clean. Our host Sedeepa, his father as well as his family, are one of the kindest persons we have met. The first day we arrived Sedeepas father drove us around with his TukTuk to see different spots, so we could get some great views on the Lions Rock. Sedeepa helped us organize our Safari tour to the National Park, which was one of the best experiences we have made, because we got to see many wild living elephants. Furthermore Sedeepa and his father helped us plan our future trip in Sri Lanka. We would absolutely recommend this place !!!

sigiriya hillside view villas -lovely place and location -very clean bathroom and bedroom -they provide mosquito nets and a thin cloth to cover for sleeping -towels are provided -there is a fan in the rooms ⁃ well maintained beautiful garden ⁃ We asked for fruits prior to our arrival and they gave us fruits with our breakfast (which we paid extra for) ⁃ good fast wifi ⁃ Sadeepa’s mum is very talented and provides a lovely fresh cooked breakfast ⁃ helpful, respectful and friendly owners ⁃ peaceful environment next to big paddy fields with stunning views. ⁃ you can even see sigiriya rock whilst sitting and eating your breakfast on the front porch. ⁃ it can be difficult to locate at night time but as long as you keep an eye out for the signs you will be able to find it. When we were stuck Sadeepa came and directed us to the place quickly. ⁃ Sadeepa helped us find a nice local national park mineera (only half an hour away by car) where we could get a safari experience and see nature in its natural form. ⁃ stellar service while only being one call away. ⁃ The whole family including the grandparents came and greeted us when we were leaving, it really made us feel like we were at home. Overall, it’s a 10/10 for my family and I. It was a wonderful experience and we would love to come again.
