The only thing I didn't like was there were very few lights in the room. There was not enough light.

The location was perfect. The beach is just walking distance. The hostel was good and spacious. Rooms are huge. We had some amazing breakfast there. Also there is a nice spa in the hostel compound, do try that.

This place is great value for money and is in a great location in Mirissa. We took a private room which was spacious and air conditioned. It is very close to the beach as well as the Main Street, but is private and quiet. Would recommend if you are on a budget and looking for a clean and friendly place to stay.

The only feedback I have was some of the photos online appear to be old. The outdoor area was not in use

The location is excellent, the staff were lovely, the aircon was great and the room was large.

breakfast was supposed to be included (one of the reasons why I booked this place) but there was no breakfast, one day there were bananas and water on the counter, don’t consider this breakfast :/

it was ok, not amazing. I’ve stayed at better rooms and hostels for less money in Sri Lanka honestly. good location. the hostel has no vibe. I moved away to another place in Mirissa after couple nights

Instead of being in a dorm room I was in a twin room which smelt very damp and had a lot of mosquitoes, although there was a net it didn't fit over the bed very well. Also the toilets smelt of urine most of the time I was there so not sure how often they are being cleaned.

Main building is nice, lots of communal space and seating. Free breakfast was delicious and drinking water available at the hostel. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Great atmosphere, nice communal area to chill out and meet people, staff were friendly and helpful, good value for money. And free bottled water which is great in the heat of Mirissa.

- Electricity was a big issue, due to power cuts. Not sure if the hostel could have done something about it - They have a quite a few local pets. If you are not very pet friendly, it could be irritating. - The linen was disappointing. Bedsheets felt over used and rough and no proper blankets were provided.

- Owner was very nice and helpful. A great concierge. He got us discounted whale watching and scuba diving. - Vibe is very chill. - Rooms are spacious and clean. - Morning yoga, lots of art, indoor and outdoor common areas.

The mosquitos in Mirissa are somewhat aggressive and the rooms aren’t equipped with ac and the mosquito net doesn’t seem to really work so the nights there weren’t that pleasant.

The hostel is super close to the beach - just one minute walk and you are on the beach. It’s in the side way so a bit away from the busy main road of Mirissa. Also, just next to the hostel there is a lovely cafe where I hung out quite often. The common area of the hostel is nice, you can easily catch up with other travelers and the hostel manager is super nice too - we even celebrated his birthday together. There is quite good breakfasts included and the stuff is super friendly, although they don’t speak that good English.

Hostel First has a nice vibe, is close to the beach (just walk in by paradise beach as a short cut to the beach. or pay 500 rp to make use of there pool including a towl) and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The room is spacious and clean. There is an ATM just at the beginning of the road which is opposite of a big supermarket.With the huge common kitchen it’s easy to prepare your own food. it would be great though if the breakfast omelet came with toast and the rooms are cleaned every second or 3rd day.

My only downside was being comfortable in the room - mainly because of mosquitos (worst I’ve ever been bitten!) so not completely the fault of the hostel, as it’s bound to happen - but a mosquito net would have really helped me.

My first experience in a hostel and it was so much fun. Met some amazing people and there was always something to do. Will remember it forever!

1. There are two cockroaches under my mattress. 2. Stink bedsheet and pillows. 3. Molds on bathroom wall and worm on the floor. 4. Floor is full of dust and sand. 6. Other guests were partying until 3 AM. 7. Noisy at night.

The equipments and the place are not maintained properly. It could be arranged easily though with a bit more cleaning and fixing the toilets door.

The family who holds the hotel is really nice. The location close to the beach is good.
