Beautiful hotel in a great location - we could walk to Sigiriya Rock and lots of places to eat nearby. The pool area was so perfect for relaxing after climbing all those steps! Super friendly hosts who helped us organise our taxis, laundry and let us store our baby's food in the fridge. The owner loves gardening and you are surrounded by amazing plants! We even got visited by a peacock just before we left.

What a find !! A little piece of paradise hidden away about 5 minutes drive from Sigiriya Rock entrance. You enter through a private gate into a beautiful garden with a small pool, perfect for a dip after a hot day out. The team of staff are excellent, friendly, and helpful, going out of their way to make the stay perfect. A huge breakfast is included which sets you up for the day, and if you have dinner there the chef will ask you what you would like, and accommodate you as well as he can. There are just 6 rooms available, all spacious family sized rooms, with good bathrooms.

I have no complaint about any aspect. The only reason I gave it 10 out of 10 us that there isn't an 11!

Staff were very helpful and polite. The room was fabulous very large, clean and comfortable. Lovely pool and well tended, exotic plants. Location was great. The food was very good, the breakfast sumptuous. Wonderful stay!

We could do with another pillow but we didn’t want to ask. It seemed petty.

It’s a well located and nicely designed property, well maintained and beautifully lush with greenery. The staff were friendly, attentive and kind. The whole place smacked of love. We love the pool and the dining area. It was indeed an oasis from the rest of Sigiriya.

Well, everything: - most importantly service provided by hotel staff, from the very first encounter. After long drive through the Sri Lankan traffic I was tired and the guy from the hotel met me by the road on his scooter to guide me to the accommodation - they had open kitchen with a variety of dishes at 21 o’clock which was perfect as me and my wife were tired to go out to look for places to eat - the territory is enclosed with a fence and they have parking spots, so it was ideal for me with rented car - the room was clean, smelled fresh and new (something I found hard to find in many hotels). - they have all necessary toiletry including hair drier - the room is very big, the bed is comfortable. - the territory is beautiful, lots of greens but the room and terrace feel private space because of greenery that separates the territory - nice breakfast - the property is close to the entrance to Sigiriya National Museum

Amazing stay at this hotel!! The people take great care of you. Always smiling and willing to help. They have been so helpful in organzing our different activities (Pidurangala, safari, Polonnarua, transfers...) Breakfast are very generous and delicious. The pool was clean and very appreciated after the day out. Nice little touch with the fresh juices brought when we were back from our days out. We had a great stay! The rooms are very spacious and clean, as is the whole complex, which is very well laid out and maintained. The breakfast was delicious, they even made us a great breakfast to take away for our early morning hike. The staff were very nice and attentive. All in all, one of the best hotels on our trip with top value for money

We had a fantastic 2 night stay here, it’s such a calming place with beautiful plants all around the garden and Pool area. Great location for the main sites of Sigiriya such as Lions Rock and a short walk into the town. The owner Raveen was a great guy and we loved hearing about how he created IL Frangipane from scratch and he also drove us to our next destination Kandy. All his staff are lovely and the breakfasts are great.

From the minute I arrived, the service was great. I was given breakfast before my room was ready to check in. They were able to get me in earlier than normal. I was struggling with a sore leg and they made an Ayurvedic tea to help! Beautiful location, well maintained garden and pool. Wonderful fresh breakfasts. And quiet. Someone complained about monkeys on the roof the week before I arrived. What did they expect in the jungle/rainforest?! 🤣 All part of the experience. To the team there, thank you. And I hope you enjoyed the vodka.

Excellent pool, staff were superb and the breakfast was even better. They spoiled us with fruit drinks round the pool.

Amazing place, a tucked away little paradise! The amount of plants and wildlife is beautiful. We stayed for three nights and loved it. The staff and owner are so friendly and welcoming, very big breakfast too which was great. Very happy and would stay again.

Our 3 days/2 nights in Il Frangipane have been amazing! The facility is a little tropical paradise, well maintained and well designed: perfect for some relaxing days. The room is really big, clean and with modern furniture, as the bathroom. The breakfast is big, a good mix between English and srilankan breakfast. Their best strength is the always kind and helpful staff! They’ll always help you with a big smile! Thank you for those amazing days!

The property was very cool with great pool! We rooms are so nice and so big! Shower also was the best. Very close to Restaurants and Bars in Sigiriya which was nice! We then got such a nice breakfast with local Sri Lankan food and fruit. Really was the nicest place we stayed in Sri Lanka so far and would have stayed longer if possible. Staff are just the nicest people
