Exceptional guesthouse in old colonial mansion. The manager is a very nice person there. The staff are great. Perfect hideout in nature with lots of various animals, birds and plants. Would highly recommend

Everything was wonderful! I only struggled with my data and wifi, and, not having a scooter or transport, it was a little time consuming and tricky to get into Galle and/or Unawatuna...perhaps having a couple of scooters for rent or a tuktuk service would be a nice touch for those of us who have the wanderlust bug and can't sit still!

Absolutely stunning and beautiful historical hotel nestled in a small village and nature of apa village. It was incredibly peaceful, green and just beautiful. The land that the hotel sits on is huge, allowing for a wonderful wander and escape into nature. I loved my morning walk around the village and back lanes, taking in the sights and sounds of nature. Sabine, the manager, was a ball of energy and had many entertaining stories to tell that kept me laughing. It rained the entire time but it was the coziest and most enjoyable place to tuck into a warm drink and bottle of wine and enjoy the serenity of the area.

as it’s remote you need a tuk to take you if you want to go to Galle/unawatuna and it can be a bit tricky for the tuks to find .. I was a solo traveller and due to timing ended up staying on the property alone for 2 nights. didn’t sleep well due to my own anxiety really of being alone in the jungle (except for security guard) although Ella the dog kept me company :-) If you are solo traveller and this would worry you, check ahead to see if other guests are staying. Sabina the manager was there on my last night which was great - she is fabulous company, very funny!

everything! it was an absolute gem - if you are looking for something completely different, super peaceful, out in nature, very green, monkeys, monitor lizards, beautiful landscape, amazing pool, great staff, lovely German manager and a gorgeous little pooch called Ella!

Nothing is perfect and mosquitos will bother you at sometimes.

Amazing place! A magical stay surrounded by nature. Monkeys, colorful birds, butterflies, lizards watching you while you enjoy the beautiful swimming pool. That must be the paradise. Very helpful staff and wonderful breakfast. A place to remember.

We absolutely loved staying here for 5 nights with our small children aged 3 and 6 months. We loved the staff, they played with our 3 year old and he really enjoyed that as well as feeding the fishes. They also cleaned and helped with baby bottles and washing. Special thank you to Randina, Lasantha, Laeeth and Leela as well as Sabine for everything. They have a lovely garden with monkeys by the pool, and it was all so peaceful. The pool is beautiful and we felt like we had it to ourselves most of the time. There were others staying in the villa but it felt like our own home and so welcoming with the staff looking after us. We did a few local trips to Galle Fort and the beach, but mostly enjoyed relaxing at the villa. It was the perfect place to relax after a long flight from UK and we left feeling energised.

It was such a pleasure to spend almost 2 weeks in the villa. Everything was absolutely perfect. The villa is beautiful, surrounded by a broad well-kept garden. It’s located away from this holiday madness that is going on by the very ocean although it takes only 10 minutes by tuk tuk to get to Unawatuna from there. Food is just delicious, prepared by a really talented young cook. Fresh and definitely not boring. The great asset of this place is the staff. Especially Randina. Devoted to the job, well-mannered, kind, always ready to help. And of course Sabina who is the manager and a genuine heart of the villa. Always hands-on, so generous with her time. What more can I say? I just want to visit the villa soon again.

This is an amazing place totally out of time real peace of heaven The staff are extremely friendly and very polite The garden is so peaceful and beautiful you just do not want to leave This is a place to experience fully We came for 2 nights and we extended our stay to 4 nights Sabina is a great manager and she is very generous with her time ..You can get great advices from her..

the charm of the place, the great food, ideally located for a retreat from the touristic areas but at the same time 15 min away from the beach and 15 min away from galle fort.
