Great view from the bedroom overlooking Kandy city. Jaye was a total gentleman and was always at hand to accommodate any requests. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Great air conditioning system too.

Although the view was great, there was no feeling of privacy because the balcony was a common pathway for all patrons, thus we had to close the curtains when changing etc Couldn't freely enjoy the view. The shower wasn't adjustable and didn't warm quickly. It wasn't very clear to me that breakfast was not included and felt the cost was unreasonable.

Breakfast was prepared well and on time at 7:30 am. Good quality and variety with fruits (pineapple, papaya, mango, banana and water melon) for Sri Lankan option. Hot tea, string hoppers, Uppams, coconut symbol, dhal. Also a wrap with brown sugar in it.

Jay's homestay was an absolute gem! The room boasted a panoramic view of Kandy that left us in awe, it was spotless, and had everything we needed. Jay's fluency in English fostered enriching conversations about Sri Lanka, allowing us to learn and discover many fascinating aspects of the country. He was incredibly helpful and polite, making our stay even better. Lastly, the breakfast was delicious.

Fabulous place! Close to the town centre, but up a little hill and therefore quiet with a wonderful view over Kandy. The room was bright, very spacious and very clean with a little balcony to watch the sunset. Breakfast was delicious and plenty. The host is very friendly and approachable and was happy to answer any questions I had about transport, things to do or indeed anything I wanted to know about the country. I personally opted to travel to Ella by bus which was a fantastic bus ride, but he can also help with tickets for the train. I would definitely stay there again!

This place is incredible. Lovely clean bedrooms with great AC, nice clean bathrooms. The views from the room were amazing looking over Kandy. Jaye was really friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were delicious. Is about a 10 min walk to Kandy lake.

*You need to be very vigilant about ants. The first night I didn't rinse my toothbrush sufficiently and when I woke up in the morning, the ants were swarming all over my toothbrush. You just have to be extra careful (don't leave any food out!) then it's not a problem.

*The proprietor was incredibly nice and super helpful. *Nice location in the hills above Kandy. *Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious and bountiful. *I would recommend taking dinners there too. They were delicious and they would prepare dishes to your specifications. Probably the best meals I had in Sri Lanka. *Everything was great. I would definitely stay there again if I ever returned to Kandy.

Clean and comfortable room with a great view. Jaye is very friendly and welcoming. It is an easy walk to the lake down the path next to the park, and a quick tuk tuk ride back up.

Amazing, welcoming people who did so much to help us when our travel plans went wrong! Beautiful views from their seating area. Breakfast was incredible. Beds were comfortable and bathroom facilities good.

The location is in a secluded area and is up a steep hill. It can be easily missed by drivers, however this was not a major issue for us.

The room we had was very modern and had a great view on our terrace. Both the room and bathroom were a decent size. The location was walking distance to the station. We had a delicious breakfast prepared by the host. Jaye was so kind and helpful, and gave us lots of tips with our travel arrangements. Nothing was too much trouble! I would definitely stay here again 😊

Tuk tuk drivers may have trouble finding it as the address is Reservoir St, but some signs say Resavoiar.

Clean, new and everything works. Close to centre of city, but up and out of the ruckus. To get to town, just walk along the road and down the track on the right hand side of the public garden to a pedestrian crossing where traffic will actually stop - then use the network of underpasses to get around town. The host will help you with your ideas and plans and suggest how best to tackle your intended visits. Good view across town from the balcony and shared area where excellent breakfasts and meals are served. If you are interested in Sri Lankan food then the host will seek out different seasonal vegetables and fruit in the market for meals. There is another short cut to town down via the sports ground but this is not recommended as the local dogs on that path don’t take kindly to strangers. Current tuk tuk fare from town is 300 LKR (March 2024). The PIckMe app for tuk tuks works in Kandy and is used by tuk tuk drivers. Tuk tuk drivers drop you at a narrow path that leads down to two home stays - just follow the signs.

Super clean and comfortable room, had everything you need. We actually felt like being in a very nice hotel. Jaye helped is get a taxi and is a very experienced host. Breakfast was simply delicious. We only stayed there 1 night but it is perfect for longer stays because it’s in a nice quiet part of Kandy, away from all the noise and traffic in the centre.
