We needed a central room in Kandy for a one night stay and found this hotel perfect for this. The room was clean and quipped with an A/C. The hotel is within a short walking distance to the train station and bus stops and also located within the inner city of Kandy. The staff was very friendly.

The wall fan hinge was loose so wouldn't point at the beds, it hang limp and hung towards the door. We used our cloths line to direct it over the bed. The twin room is two single beds side by side and the bases are HEAVY so it was hard (but possible) to separate them a bit. I didn't really want to sleep side by side with my father. Some corners or the room (like where I put my bag) were dusty. The toilet looked like it had urine in it! But the bathroom was otherwise clean with new TP and soap. The place was cheap as chips and good location so I was happy to tolerate the above. Beds were clean.

Very central location. Near the clock tower round about so good landmark for Tuk Tuk drivers. Walk to bus station (FYI if you're heading to Trincomalee there IS a bus. It's no. 45 leaves frequenlty in early morning and is down the end near the Jaffna buses). There is an unnamed place that opens early where we got a cheap breakfast when everyone else was closed. Take a right and walk 20m (direction away from the main road). Window view is of a concrete wall but surprisingly a breeze sneaks in. Despite central location it's back a bit so noise is only distant with the window open and not noticeable when closed). The young man at the desk was kind and helpful and booked us tickets to the cultural dance (must see) but not too knowledgeable about transport(he told us no bus goes to Trincomalee and that we should take a train all the way back to Colombo then go from there!) He also tried to book us a tuk to the cultural show for 400 when we got one ourselves on Pickme for 200.

WiFi kept going down every day due to internet provider cutting (maybe on PAYG system) and due to electric from dorm supplying router tripping out. The young man on reception and every were else usually sorted it out. When the internet was working it was very good. I have it 7 mainly due to the young guy who tried to solve the problems, otherwise I would have given 6.

Young man who seemed to run the place was very accomodating if you had a problem. Good area for sites.

Such a hidden gem in Kandy! Clean dorms, lockers, good wifi and central location in town. The guy working there was so kind and couldn’t help me enough. There was no water in the city when I arrived, but they drove me to another part of the city just so I could have a shower…unbelievable hospitality! Would definitely recommend thanks again.

They have a kitchen that can be usable but they just don't use it. you are able to make tea but nothing more. I believe if they open it up more to the guests

The hostel managers are very kind. And truly make you feel welcome.the location is in the middle of town and a few minutes walk to the market, the lake, the train station and other things

Bad smell from the toilet but not unbearable considering the time you spend in the toilet. Weird system to open/close the door as you can shut the door but only lock it from inside or outside.. but there's only 1 key. So you gotta get organised with your roommate and ask the last one in to lock the door. What happens if someone has a late check-in? no clue, but this system doesn't work and is not safe because the key is left outside. They should just get a copy of the keys.

Honestly this was better than expected. My room was very clean and i wasn't sharing it with anyone. Bathroom was clean and there was a soap bar. No noise from the street during the night. Heat wasn't too bad. Definitely a good price!

If you book one of the cheaper rooms you have another house wall in front of the window and not landscape as in the pictures also the smell in the bathroom from the drain was extremely unpleasant.

The location is very good. The staff on the reception wars very friendly and tried to help.

No fridge available. No breakfast available. Sheets were not washed properly. Could be cleaner. The drains! There is a terrible smell coming up from the toilets here! Maybe this is unavoidable due to the location but it was quite bad. You need to use bleach daily and maybe an automatic freshener in the rooms as this does affect the comfort of the stay. Towels are not available here. No key card for main door. Door is open.

I stayed in a dorm room and a private room. Dorm was great, comfy, clean, fan (no A/C) Hot water not working in dorm but working in private room. Rooms reasonably clean. Staff are friendly and on hand to assist if needed. Lovely roof terrace but not utilised! So much potential! Great views over Kandy! Location is perfect right in amongst the hustle & bustle and beside the Kandy clock tower, shops & restaurants. Photos are of the private room.
