It’s down a long road which is rough. best suited to tuktuk not car but the view once you get there is worth it.

Beautiful view. Lots of birds in the trees. Nisal was super helpful. I made a mistake and booked the wrong room type and my friend was very unwell when we arrived. Nisal looked after us and gave me his number incase we needed help in the night. The breakfast was lovely.

This is really the place to be if you’re looking for a nice base to visit the national park from! As soon as we arrived we felt at home - Nisal and the chef welcomed us with a fresh coconut. Nisal also helped us with everything, drove us around with the Tuk Tuk and just did a great job overall at hospitality, serving us breakfast, lunch and dinner even at the last minute. The room was amazing, so spacious and with big windows and a view on the lake with a variety of birds and even water buffalo to watch. The most tranquil place we stayed at in Sri Lanka for sure! It was an amazing location with a veranda overlooking the lake. Perfect for wildlife watching They provided a good breakfast to take away on safari. Nothing was too much trouble

This place is absolutely beautiful. It is on a huge lake (tissa I believe) and view of a Buddhist temple on the other side. The view from the room was awesome. It is a bird watcher's paradise. Because of the water, there were so many waders and water birds. Pied kingfisher, white breasted king fishers, black winged stilts, lapwings, bittern, terns etc. The compound was quiet , peaceful and full of trees. The staff prepared a nice noodle dinner for us. And prepared a packed breakfast very early in the morning for us for the Yala Safari (before 5 a.m). We had only one night there. Wish I had more time. It is a very quiet and peaceful place to stay, relax and enjoy nature.

We had a great stay!

This place has one of the most stunning views we've seen while staying in Sri Lanka! It was so peaceful just sitting on our balcony watching the animals walk and fly by. The two guys taking care of the place were very professional, friendly and accomadating. The included breakfast was amazing too! Definitely worth staying here!

As all other places where we staying, the were many insects and so on in the room but is normal here. The only bad thing was the really really low pressure in the shower. Was like just dropping

The water in the shower did not reach a high temperature, though this wasn't much of an issue as it was warm weather when we visited.

The view from our room was amazing. It faced out onto the lake and we could sit and birdwatch for hours. The room was a basic standard, as expected at such good value for money. It was clean and comfortable. The host organised various safari/birdwatching trips for us and sent us with a packed breakfast as it was such an early start. For those looking for an amazing deal, this is your place!!

The view of the Lake View Cottage is astonishing. It's so close to the lake and will make you feel close to nature. You can see various kinds of birds including very beautiful peacocks. The host is very friendly and so are all the staff. Breakfast and dinner are also very delicious. Our room is very spacious with a big balcony. Our whole family really enjoyed our stay here. Strongly recommand!

The Airconditioning could have worked better, took time to cool the room.

This was a fantastic property. Tiny place, excellent people, fantastic view of the lake and the breeze will take your fatigue away! We arrived quite late the day we checked in, extremely courteous staff, special mention for the caretaker Ishaan and the chef, Babu for making us a simple and wholesome Sri Lankan lunch when we were tired of all the junk!

- Nothing much, just some minor stuff (some dust here and there in the room - see photos, a bit of a low water pressure in the bathroom, mosquitoes but that’s quite evident for a waterfront accommodation, plus the room also had a mosquito net) Conclusion: I would very highly recommend this place. It was amazing and the hospitality of the owner was one of the greatest experience in Sri Lanka.

The view is amazing if you book room with balcony. The feel of winds with lake was exceptional. They provide excellent yala jeep safari. Staffs were kind and would serve you for your satisfaction. Thanks to them we got a once in a lifetime divine experience in kataragama jungle.
