Everything was perfect

Was extremely lucky to pick up this place to visit the Sigiriya area. It turned out to be one of the best stays I had ever had. Thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. The place is new (opened one year ago) and is run by a super sweet family. It's just 2 km to Habarana railway station (pleasant walk). The room is fantastic. Beautiful, spacious, with strong AC and hot shower, it has a big patio with the lake view. The facilities on the territory are all well-designed. There is a special dining room, with filtered water supply. The first aid box and other useful things are available as well. Overall everything looks wonderfully organized and thought through. There is a garden house by the lake that you can use for working and dining, with gorgeous sunset view. The lake itself is so beautiful, with hundreds of birds. You can easily spot peacocks, storks, pelicans, and other birds. Wow. The place is away from the road, it's possible to go for a walk around the lake. The surroundings are very peaceful and close to nature. The family was extremely friendly and helpful. You can order delicious homemade food at the property. They gave me a lot of recommendations and were super attentive to my every need. At the property, you can rent a motorbike. Sigiriya, Pidurangala, Ritigala, Dambula, Kandalama, Kaludiya Pokuna all are a short and extremely pleasant ride away though jungles and rice fields. The owners also have a big tuk tuk and can give you a tour by local price. I also booked safari though them and saw around 70 elephants in Hurulu Eco Park (elephants are there in June). Overall, I was extremely happy staying in that place. Will definitely come back. Totally recommend it to everyone who wants to enjoy the best that Habarana/Sigiriya can offer.

Really clean spacious comfortable room and well maintained. Breakfast is super tasty and well prepared and presented. They had a nice hut bordering the lake and it had a fabulous morning view.

Small quibble, but the lack of AC made for a a slightly uncomfortable sleep. I was feeling a bit sick with head cold which probably didn't help.. The location on the lake is very scenic but at same time a bit out of the action of Habarana - that can be a pro or a con depending on your preference and needs.

Very friendly host family. Gaminij went above and beyond to make sure you were happy and comfortable. He also s a tuk tuk driver so can handle most of your local touring needs at very fair price His wife's food was delicious and breakfasts were huge! Rooms were large and very clean. The elevated deck overlooking the lake is a nice touch.

The best hosts ever and the best accommodation in Sri Lanka I've ever had! The host brought us from the center to the apartment for free, his lovely wife treated us to snacks and juices every day, they helped organize a trip to Polonnaruwa at a great price. The breakfast was delicious with a view of a wonderful lake with peacocks walking around. I highly recommend it!

Very nice location on the shore of a wonderful lake with plenty of birds. Great family running two rooms bungalows. Very clean room and bathroom, very good WiFi and delicious food for breakfast and dinner cooked in house. Also very good AC for the hottest moments of the day. The place is very private since the bungalow is separated from host house and in front of the bungalow you have a nice place to relax. Highly recommend this welcoming family. They provided every day some local drinks or snacks, to find out more about local food. You can reach the place by public buses easily if you get off the bus at the post office and from there is 100 meters by foot. Or the host may pick you up by tuk tuk. Also you can arrange trips by tuk tuk with the host at very good price. Really appreciate every day spent at this place. Thank you for such a lovely stay 😊

Very nice and helpful hosts providing delicous food and good Tipps. They arranged a Safari for us and a tuk tuk ride to Sigiriya. Very beautiful location directly at the lake. From treehouse you have great views to observe birds especially nice for sunset. Very recommended!

Helpful hosts and wonderful location to stay. You can just sit in the terrace and watch nature go by. I extended my stay for 2 more nights. You can walk to the town with scenary views in 15-20min or host can take you with tuktuk. Good food.

Great place, located by the lake, with amazing view of the lake. The bungalow is new, the room is big, nice and clean. Lots of tasty food for breakfast. Breakfast is served in a wooden lake house with a beautiful view. The host is very nice and helpful. He helped us organize a safari at a much lower price than directly with jeep drivers. I highly recommend this place.

The room was really clean and comfortable. There was a paddy field infront of the accommodation and couples of peacocks were visits there.We enjoyed the nice combination of the fresh air and calm nature in our vacation.

The nicest and most attentive family we have met so far in Sri Lanka. Highlight of the accommodation: the tree house with view on wide fields. Pure nature. The fabulous local breakfast was also served here. We spontaneously passed by this accommodation on our journey. Nevertheless, we were welcomed with open arms and every wish, no matter how small, was read off our lips. Pure feel-good factor! The room was brand new. This place should be visited while travelling through inland!!

We had a pleasant stay with this lovely homestay. Rooms are still new and also clean. You will have a nice garden view with a terrace. You can also watch sunset from a wooden tower. There will be more water in the lake from August to December. We stayed one more night, because it was so nice. You can easily find a jeep nearby and visit Minneriya national park. It is also possible to visit Ritigala ruins.
