Our shower windows was see through which we only realised after taking a shower and the people doing construction outside was staring at us when we later sat on the balcony... Slightly noisy, not soundproof at all, but it's part of the Sri Lanka experience.

We had a very pleasant stay at Lakeview Residince. The view caught our attention first! Make sure to book a lake view room. Splendid. The location is very central and ideal if you want to walk to some attractions. The staff was helpful with insight to what activities to persue. (good English). The food was tasty.

The WiFi stopped working a few hours into our stay.

The location is ideal, overlooking the lake (though not all rooms have a view) and close to the city centre whilst being quiet.. Staff were extremely friendly.

The location is brilliant, view of the lake when you enter and only 5 mins from the lake and restaurants/shops. The room was nicely decorated and felt very comfortable and cosy. We were given a welcome drink on arrival which was lovely. The staff were really helpful including ordering us a tuk tuk which arrived on time. The shower was hot and big!

The location for the train station was absolutely brilliant. A short walk or TukTuk ride. The staff couldn't do enough for us, we had booked breakfast but were leaving too early to have so they prepared us a little bag of food and snacks for the train. Lovely balcony. Incredible view of the lake too. Excellent location for walking to lots of places.

Great hotel close to Kandy city centre, albeit with a steep walk. Good buffet breakfast and helpful staff. Worth getting a room with a Lakeside view.

Dirty cutlery at breakfast but this was remedied immediately. The communal areas were a in need of some repair but the room was great and the restaurant good

Bathroom flooded after one use of shower, gym looks like it’s never been used/broken. Damp in room, needs retouch of paint when you look. Pool didn’t look overly clean

The balcony view was great over looking Kandy Lake and Temple. Spacious room, staff very helpful. We checked out early to get the train and they provided us with a breakfast box to take with us. Only stayed one night and very close to Kandy viewpoint.

The room was very dark, and the balcony faced a wall, not a garden view, as advertised. It felt small and dingy, so pay the extra for a lake view. The astro turf on the balcony was sopping wet with water coming from a leak somewhere above. It was okay for two nights, but I didn't like my allocated room.

The location was good, but it was difficult to find the property. Modern room, clean, good shower. Helpful friendly staff. Very good quality breakfast, Sri Lankian, and Europeon options looking over the lake. Good value for money.

The pool was available but limited seats ( just 3) Perhaps smaller seats to fit in the limited pool seating area. An unfortunate altercation with our taxis driver and hotel staff on departure left us feeling saddened as normally the hotel staff are so friendly and obliging

Breakfast spread was good but some items that should be hot were stone cold. Can be difficult to locate down a narrow steep driveway.

Pool was a little cold. We decided to stay at the hotel as we saw pictures of monkeys but we had no access to a balcony. I was also disappointed as on arrival we made a cup of tea and my daughter asked for some milk for her tea…. When we checked out we were charged 700lkr for a very small amount of milk - I thought this would be complimentary!

Location was fantastic. Buffet breakfast was delicious.

Location, with a great view of the lake and surrounding areas. Cleanliness, the room was very clean as was the rest of the hotel, including the swimming pool.Breakfast was varied and plentiful. The staff were excellent (all of them) from check in to check out, helping with local information and arranging transport for us along with supplying afternoon tea, coffee and cake one day and a nice plate of fresh fruit the next. Thank you.

Close to city centre and the lake, but very steep walk . Could cause issues for elderly or people with mobility issues. We were first given a room in the basement , which was not ideal with no elevators to the floor and also some odour from the carpet. They then moved us to another room temporarily and then gave us a better room which we were expecting and booked initially. WiFi is terrible and tv did not work .

The pool was dirty, that was one of the main reasons why we chose this so that was disappointing, when we told them, they said they will look into it, the next day was pool closed for maintenance. The lake view room’s bathroom was a bit moldy and the hall to the room smelled really badly. I feel like the rooms have different levels some have carpet, some paving (not really a 4* hotel), some of them have nice view some doesn’t.

The location of the hotel is great, close to everything with tuk tuk and walk, view might be nice but even that we got the lake view room the view wasn’t really special. The breakfast was really good with nice view and local type of breakfast, the sky bar was under reconstruction.

Our room was literally on the reception area- very awkward for us as a couple. Everyone could see our balcony. The pool was dirty. Good was ok, not great. They charge a lot of money for no reason for everything: transportation, commission. We knew the real prices so it was very much clear they saw as dollars signs. A bit too pricy in my opinion.
