The place needs a good clean. Floors were dirty, bedding rather stained and questionable bits of hair etc in it. Our room smelt of stale tobacco. No comfortable outdoor seating - there wasn’t even a place for 4 to eat outside. Food was overpriced (priced up in dollars) and very limited choice. What we had was ok but nothing special. The place is a long way from other restaurants. The pool looked a bit green none of us fancied risking a swim. !

Very dirty linen on bed and very dirty room. They dont make food themselves. They go to restaurant to buy it ja bring it there. They have only still water, no beverages.

we stayed here for 2 nights and it was 2 nights too many. first of all, when we got here we discovered that despite upgrading our room to 2 beds many months ago, we were told they didn’t have any 2 bed rooms. the room had one tiny window facing a wall so there was no natural light. the room doesn’t look like the pictures, the walls are very dirty, we were given half a roll of toilet paper which had clearly been used. but it gets worse… as we were waiting to be picked up for a safari, we were informed by another guest that after their safari they had returned to their room to discover that their money had been stolen by two of the workers. when we checked out and paid, we asked for our change and they laughed at us even though it was nearly 1000lkr change.

the pool was very nice and it was close to the national park and elephant transit home.

Awesome stay with loyal service! Quality from start to end was same and brilliant. Everything you could wish for, superb food - especially the breakfast, swimming pool, safari were very special. The concierge so helpful in booking airport taxi and We would never think of staying anywhere else next time we are in Udawalawe. I will recommend this hotel to anyone and hope to visit soon again for an adventurous safari!

Situated right along the Udawalawe main road, this hotel is very easily accessible and provides ample space for parking as well. The room included all the essential facilities and had easy access to the pool. They have a nice swimming pool that was clean and well-maintained. The food was tasty and plentiful. The highlight of the stay was the Udawalawe Safari, which was included in the package we took. Overall it was a stay well-worth for the amount we spent.

The hotel was not as expected - everything seemed quite run down and shabby. One of the bedside lights in my room wasn’t working, the bathroom seemed like it needed a good deep clean and there was only one tiny window in the corner of the room so it felt very gloomy. The pool area is also very run down and not as the pictures show. There was also a building site opposite that was very noisy.

The owner was really helpful and always contactable on WhatsApp. The staff at the hotel had quite poor English so it was good he was so contactable. He also helped organise a good safari too.

Need staff as it was just the manager running the show, from checking in guests, cleaning rooms & cooking so we had to stay for some time to check in, also door locks need to be changed it didn’t work well. We also had to request for a room change since washroom lock was broken. Also there was a family restaurant that didn’t serve lunch or dinner also drinking water wasn’t available in restaurant where there was a water dispenser with no water bottle. Didn’t get a welcome drink but disappointed to say the owner was on site on our first day and had some of his friends that visited for a swim I guess who was served with a welcome drink. We just got 4 * 500ml water bottles for a 2 night stay at the hotel which is funny, I’m not saying the property is not good but need to improve in certain areas when it comes to the industry of hospitality. Definitely will visit again, expecting better improvements next time.

The beds were comfortable. The pool was nice and clean. The manager Mr. Nishantha did his best to make our stay a pleasant one. Big thanks to Mr. Nishantha for the super breakfast and everything.

They are not accept Visa or MasterCard Eve though mentioned in the booking .com site. Food are not great. Not even given a single fruits. Very disorganized place. I am so disappointed .
