We had a lovely stay at Leel’s cottage, the place was so nice and clean, and looked even better than the photos! We had a great meal which his family made for us and we went to Safari with Leel which was amazing!! 100% definitely recommend!!! Best place we’ve stayed in Sri Lanka!!

This place is a rare find in Sri Lanka. Trust the pictures, it is everything that is shown and more. The green view from the coziest terrace is so vivid, it was eye popping. Great breakfasts and hospitality. The owner is a man of many talents.

Everything was perfect

First of all , the cottage of Leel and is family is a small paradise with a wonderful garden and the bedroom is brand new , so well decorated, and so clean . The matress is great, so good we even took a 3h nap 🤗.., the bathrom is amazing, you feel in jungle during your shower ...there is also a private terrace to relax . Then, let's talk about the food : the mother, aunt, wife of Leel are cooking for you, and it was so good !! Amazing breakfast, amazing dinner.. Also we arrived in last minute but even then, Leel which is also guide organize us a wonderful safari for the next morning . And he has been so attentive to give us a diferent expérience, not like all the other tourist... he want to make it the best for you and find you the best way to have a great Safari . Finally, we felt at home with Leel and his family, they are so welcoming, so nice, than it has been hard for us to leave .. Im so happy we booked this place ! So grateful for those moments and meeting. Thanks Again Leel 🙌

Nothing. Everything was perfect for us.

We had a wonderful stay at Leel’s cottage. Everything is new, nice and comfortable. It feels like home away from home. You can feel that Leel really wants his guests to feel good. The room and bathroom was outstanding, he put a lot of love into details like pictures, plants etc. it smells so good. Leel and his family are great people, open, helpful and very attentive! We enjoyed a delicious dinner, all our special requests and needs were met. The breakfast was also very very good! I even was lucky to enjoy a pedicure done by Leel’s wife. It good and was really professional. I can only warmly recommend to stay at Leel’s Cottage. Last but not least we enjoyed a great safari. Leel organized everything for us. A pity we could not go with him since he had an accident but his friend who was our guide was also very very good.

Everything was perfect!

Leel and his family were incredibly nice and welcoming! The room was very clean and had all the toiletries and supplies. They cooked delicious homemade lunch and dinner for us. We did the Uda Walawe safari with Leel, saw elephants, crocodiles, buffalos, monkeys… Leel and his family have been more than amazing during our stay with them! Would 200% repeat and reccommend

The breakfast and dinner were absolutely delicious, some of the best Sri Lankan food we have had! So convenient that we could book a safari tour with Leel, it was brilliant. The location was perfect, you felt like you were right in the jungle, and close enough to the park.

Leels safari cottage, a pocket of paradise. we spontaneously booked our stay here for 2 nights in hopes to do a safari. We’ve been travelling Sri Lanka for over a month now and I can say this has been the nicest place we have stayed at. The pictures are exactly like the place which we were so pleased about, the room its self is beautiful, comfortable beds, beautiful layout and decoration with the blessing of air con and a fan. They also supply mosquito nets, this was the first place we weren’t bitten once! As for the bathroom it’s wonderful, full of plants with an rainforest vibe. It’s all so clean and well stocked with a kettle, wardrobe, shelf’s and great mirrors. The attention to detail is amazing you can tell a lot of love and hard work has been put into this place. The lighting is lovely giving it a cosy feel. We had breakfast included and added on dinner for both nights as the food was too good! Cooked by the loveliest ladies who do everything they can to make sure you’re happy. So much selection for both breakfast and dinner really yummy and enjoyable. It’s the perfect place to relax but also seek adventure. We woke up early one morning to go for a run, the area is lovely everybody smiles and says hello. and the views are really beautiful with thriving nature. We went to an elephant orphanage near by, luckily they know people for transport etc and Leel suggested this activity for us, we didn’t know about this place prior our visit! But so glad we went it was amazing! Our second day was Safari day, we were delighted that Leel himself is one of the greatest safari tour drivers, so we set off early in the morning and embarked on our safari around Udawalawe. I know it will be one of my favourite memories we are really grateful for Leel and his dedication to make sure we had the best time and see as many beautiful animals as possible! This was one of the best places we visited in Sri Lanka. Leel was a great host. The place was just finished, so everything was completely new and clean. Great standards. It‘s location makes it very private and you can easily book a safari from there.

This is a brand new villa, very nicely decorated & comfortable. Surrounded by nature, you can spot many birds! The hosts are very nice, plus you can do safari with Leel and it's THE BEST! Really, we had an exceptional tour with him, skipped the crowds, and sunrise by the lake (no other jeeps!) was 👌🏻👌🏻 100% recommended!

The Best stay during my tour in Sri Lanka. I was lucky enought to be the first guest in Leel’s Safari Cottage. The room is beautiful, specious, clean and very well organized with furniture. The beds are in the European standed where I had a very nice comfortable sleep. The highlight of all is the beautiful bathroom, it is quite big, and decoreded with a lot of trees where you have a feeling that you are in a forest. In the evening I had a beer by sitting on the swing in the porch by looking at the beatiful big garden lightened in the best way. I don't have word’s to explan how friendly the Leel's family is. As Leel the owner speaks very good English, it was very easy for me to organize everything. Leel gave me a very good offer for the safari with very good knowlggeable guide Hashan who did the best for me. The dinner was prepared by Leel’s mother and it was the best Sri Lanken food I ever had. Whenever l come back to Sri Lanka, this will be a definite destination of mine and highly recomend for anyone who wants a perfect stay in Udawalawa.
