How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

All is well and very good organised.
The room very nice. Bed comfortable.Shower very good.The location close to the Lewis Road and the beach. The lady who served breakfast incredible friendly. Service with a smile. I met the owner on my last evening. . Very nice lady who takes care of her clients and has a good heart . Tries to help lots of people who live under difficult circumstances. Chapeau !

BREAKFAST is a bit expensive at 4 Eur p.p., so we did not take it.
Very nice rooms, with fan and Aircon.The place is spotless and very close to restaurants and shops. Also very close to the beach. The house itself is in very good condition as well and the host was very friendly. Good parking.

Janet was an incredible host! My girlfriend and I arrived in Negombo very late at night, but Janet stayed up to welcome us. The room was clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here to anyone coming to Negombo

This Friday especially was a party but it was finished near midnight. The bed is very soft - but it really depends on how you love, then mark is 10.
Normally quiet, hospital, new stylish room. Thank you for the mosquito net, it needed there - and a room with it is ideal for me. They even help me to send postcards!

1. Wifi not working well so we had to reply on mobile data. Even when connected to wifi, the internet is either very slow or you get disconnected quite frequently 2. Weak water flow for shower
1. Room is clean and modern, AC works well. 2. Owner is pretty nice and very helpful (She is living in Europe and has staff onsite to manage the place, communicating on booking.com is the best way) 3. We loved the complimentary tea and coffee in the morning 4. The whole house is very nice and beautiful and has many areas to chill 5. Location is easy to find

Top hospitality! Owners and sfat were super nicd with me: I was suppose to leave Sri Lanka and they let me keep the room also in the afternoon (despite check out was at 11 am) Location very closed tk the sea and you can visit market also by walking. Rooms are wonderful, with everythjng you need and also very nice. Breakfast is vedy good (fruit, eggs, toast, tea) Thanks again for the lovely time!

Booked 3 nights.Only a lIttle daylight in room. No balcony connected to room. Outside room everywhere Cameras. We had to work but wifi was only working last evening. The free breakfast was simple. Fruit minimal.
Nice looking building, Nice garden. Locked fence all around. Prvat tuktuk/carparking possible. Nice staffmember.

The shower sometimes didn't have hot water, but wasn't too much of an issue as Negombo is a warm city!
Janet was so friendly and helpful, we arrived late at night and she was happy to wait for us and gave us multiple options for the room we wanted to stay in. Quiet area, walking distance from restaurants and beach. Clean and big room, lots of storage space. We loved the rooftop which you can climb up and watch the sunrise/sunset. So serene! Would recommend if you are in Negombo, thank you Janet!

everything was great
The first place to experience the Sri Lankan hospitality (if Negombo is your first stop :)). Very nice owners! Rooms large, well-equipped, clean. Convenient location.

The room was fabulous and clean. The Owner and her family was very friendly and always helpful. They organized and helped us in many ways. Speak to them about the option for the swimming pool at the Jetwing Blue Hotel.

Nothing, everything was perfect.
Modern room and bathroom. Spotless, very pleasant accommodation with well working air conditioning. Great roof terrace. And most importantly very helpful owner and the staff!

Mr Christopher was super friendly and helpful. we arrived very late in the night but he made us coffe and gave is biscuits :-) the hotel was good value for Money

The rooms are dark - just a window to the indoor hallway. Shower had low water pressure.
We were the first guests staying here since a long time. Location was convenient, close to the airport. Breakfast was decent. The host Christopher was helpful with organising some practicalities and some local tips.
