I’m so thankful that we spontaneously changed our route and landed here at Moksha in Kitulgala! We sure were met with a rare beauty of a surprise! What fab, super clean and luxuriously comfy rooms and cutesy dining area, and such exquisite exterior architecture! Tucked in the rainforest, amidst river streams, Moksha is a heavenly treat - a serene, romantic getaway, especially for a honeymooning couple. And despite being in the center of such dense greenery, the resort manages to maintain 10/10 pest control and very smooth WIFI network + telecom, unlike some other places we stayed on this trip. We even had Netflix to chill! Food was delicious and presentation of it all was a delight too! Apart from the gorgeous pool & bar, we could also walk a few steps down and enjoy the river stream. Loved every bit of our stay at Moksha. Highly recommended, if you’re looking for an exclusive setting (with very few guests around) and tranquility.

Nothing! Only piece of advise is to not allow smoking on the terrace - in our case there was a chain smoking family next to us while having dinner

The bathrooms were absolutely fine - clean, comfortable, everything worked - but might benefit from a refurb in the near future. Would have loved to have more games upstairs in the bar area!

Unbelievable stay. Gorgeous rooms, gorgeous setting, gorgeous hospitality! Being able to essentially have your own chef for the duration of your stay is amazing and everything tasted so fresh. I’m originally from Sri Lanka and have seen lots of the different climates and landscapes it has to offer but this rainforest area was something else. And the local trips the hotel can organise are great. Big shout out to all the staff at the hotel. Will definitely return.

it was absolute please to say 3 night at Moksha hotel. definitely recommending to stay 3 nights as it really help you to emergence into the surrounding and environment. it’s amazing boutique hotel run by family - providing you all the tips and arrange trip for you. food is fanatics and personel goes above and beyond ! I am very much looking forward to be back. thank you for making our stay unforgettable

Probably just the 2.30 hours trip from airport to hotel, it can be pleasant though, it all depends on the weather and the time your flight lands.

- This place is exceptional for a resourceful gateway, perfectly located to disconnect from the day-to-day stress - All the staff was lovely and friendly with us from the owners to the cleaners, they were all very focused on our comfort! - The food experience is amazing as you get to customize your menu at your convenience...a real private chef experience. - We did multiple excursions, and it is always a pleasure because everything is always customizable from timings to content of the excursions

Everything is perfect, the location is breathtaking inside the forest . The owners are so friendly and they feel you like you are apart from them. The meals are so delicious and the chef is professional one. The pool is amazing and their is another natural one in the beside river. Rooms are so clean and tidy . It deserves every moment you will live there .

I personally was disappointed to see on the bill that 14% (and not 10%) taxes were charged, which is not common in Sri Lanka (Normally 10% service charge surplus). It was only after having paid that I noticed this. This does not feel fair that we had to pay 14% extra on drinks, food, laundry. It gives a negative impression. I can only hope that the extra charges are offered to the great staff that is doing their very best to give you a nice stay. -- Yet close enough to rafting / hiking facilities, you need a driver / tuktuk to go from the hotel to the village Staff is helping to arrange :-)

Nothing, I loved everything.

The property is so serene, calm and quiet. The rooms are clean and fully equipped with the view of the wall and the whole property. The food is hand picked from their green houses, freshly made and organic. The chef was amazing they exceeded our expectations with every meal we had. The whole staff crew was so nice and friendly, attentive and welcoming. This place is 10/10. Definitely recommend.

We had a fantastic stay in Kitulgala. It was super relaxing and peaceful. The room was very comfortable and we slept well. Everyone who worked there was welcoming and friendly. We wish we could have stayed for longer.

Can't say enough good things about this hotel. This is just the best hotel if you're looking to relax and enjoy great meals, have a drink at the pool, and enjoy the jungle. Exceptional owners with wonderful staff. This place felt like home and I loved being here. I came for 1 night and stayed for 4 more. I wish I could have stayed longer. I did one excursion a day, which the hotel arranged - rafting, abseiling, waterfalls. Going through the hotel is cheaper and less stressful than arranging through Viator. All were so much fun. The owners arranged for an outdoor fire before dinner when the weather permitted which was so nice. The Sri Lankan food is incredible, don't bother with the Western option.
