The place is situated on a mountain, and even with GPS directions, it's challenging to find the right road. Despite this, our room, located on the same level as the reception, was quiet. It's a family-run business, and the people there are friendly and eager to help. The food is delicious, and the terrace offers a gorgeous view.

The staff was very helpful with information, laundry service and also the tour held by the owner of the place. You can see a lot in a day and get a nice explanation of the different things you can visit. Also helpful if plans change. Got a breakfast to go when we left for the train further south. Really friendly staff and nice people.

The budget room was very stuffy. The herbal garden and gem museums are tourist traps, though you might still enjoy the herbal garden.

The view's great and the staff are very friendly and accommodating. The food is good too. You can get a bunch of tours here for a rather reasonable price

Bed. Very hollow. Bathroom latch broken. Hot water not come. Only Luke warm. Fan doesn't swing. Lots of ants inside room.

The bathroom was simple and the wifi was not the best.

Amazing view! The staff was really kind and helpful and we felt very welcome. The breakfast was very tasty and there were lots of different options. Would recommend trying the Sri Lankan breakfast. We booked tours on two days which were really nice too. The hotel is close to the city centre but in a quiet area. Would definitely recommend!

The only downside was that the bathroom was not cleaned well ( hair was found in the sink), hence I am rating this property as 7.

The host / manager was really accommodating and friendly. I only stayed for 1 night and was out discovering Kandy most of the time so literally used the room to take a shower after a long day and sleep. My room had no AC but there was a fan which saved the day. Also the room was on the ground floor so I could not open the windows (as advised by the host) maybe some animals would enter the room. Location is good about 20-30 mins walking from temple of the tooth/ kandy lake but it is situated along a steep slope. Just keep this in mind if you're planning to walk up. Views are magnificent.

We only had intermittently warm water, which wasn't a big problem because the weather was so hot, but sometimes hot water would have been nice.

We had a wonderful time staying at Mount Palace. The staff were very helpful, with delicious meals, advice, and also by putting us in touch with a lovely tuk tuk driver Terrence who drove us all around the area for a day, wherever we wanted to visit, including a stop off at a river for a swim, as requested. (very reasonable price - we recommend you ask for Terrence's details). We found a quiet, steep back lane to get to and fro our accommodation, which was a nice way to avoid cars/tuk tuks, and meet some of the locals. The view over Kandy was great, and we enjoyed the atmosphere of early morning chanting from nearby temples. We also enjoyed meeting and chatting with the other backpackers who visited, whilst enjoying our meals on the wide balcony.

The bed wasn’t so comfortable. There were some noises from the nearby monastery.

The staff was really helpful and kind. They even did laundry for us and made us a delicious dinner twice. The location is good - a little bit far away from the city center, but really close to some hiking trails.

The personnal was so kind ! The view on the terrace was beautiful and calm. I really liked this place with the monkey on the trees.

Hot water was not coming from the shower and was very slow from the tap too.
