Only slight negative was that if anything there was too much for breakfast, they kept bringing things out that we couldn’t eat, maybe should ask if we want them before they bring the food out

As others have said, it's up a steep hill. Our tuk tuk nearly didn't make it with two people and two suitcases! But it's fine to walk up and down without luggage.

Service was exceptional. We only stayed one night, to be close to the station for a 6:30am train. They packed us breakfast and drove us to the station themselves. The room was exquisite, with great facilities and an amazing view. We had some special requests that they dealt with without issue.

Clean, modern and spacious room with amazing view over Ella Rock and Little Adam's Peak. Attentive staff who were always willing to help, even prepared us breakfast for an early morning hike. Good selection of breakfast, including both Western and Sri Lankan food. Location was close enough to the centre without the noise.

Nice new hotel in a very good location, super clean and comfortable. Our rooms had breathtaking view of Ella Rock and the whole landscape. The staff was nice and helpful. Breakfast was very good quality with a choice of continental or Sri Lankan breakfast. We had really great time here, it’s more than three stars! (Only a bar and some coctails are missing.😉)

Literally we loved everything in this charming hotel. Actually it is a 3 stars hotel but the service, the cleanliness and the service of this hotel was better than many 5 stars hotels we tried in Sri Lanka. The staff is very professional and polite, the rooms were super comfortable and clean, and the location is perfect in the heart of Ella. Not to forget the breakfast that was delicious with generous portions.

We stayed in 9 different properties in Sri Lanka during our stay. Every place had outstanding service and really friendly staff, but the staff at Hotel Onrock were the best of the best. Major thank you to Panduka, Chandika, Mavindu and Madhan, all of who were simply outstanding. This was the best level of service we had ever received and we simply can't wait to come back. The hotel is in a fantastic location and the breakfast was one of the best we had. Can't recommend this place enough.

Amazing Hotel. The view from our room was breathtaking. We spent our second afternoon on the chairs admiring the view with a bottle of red from the minibar. Was a relaxing way to spend after a morning of hikes recommended by the staff. The breakfast was amazing, in fact it was too much food, so we shared just one Sri lankian style breakfast the next morning. You pay a little more than other spots, but in return you get clean and modern room with great views and friendly staff. Highly recommend. Ella is an amazing place to stay.

Some cosmetic adjustments could be made to improve the hotel quietness’s, the room doors have warped and are very creaky when opening or closing annoying other guest also the wardrobe doors do not have soft closers fitted annoyingly banging when trying to g to close late at night , also no bar in the hotel

Overall, our stay at the hotel was exceptional. The only drawback was the relatively small size of the bathroom. Additionally, there was a discrepancy in the currency we were charged, as we were expecting to pay in dollars as indicated on Booking.com but were instead billed in Sri Lanka currency. Despite these minor issues, our experience was overwhelmingly positive.

I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. It was impeccably clean and well-maintained. The room size was generous, providing a comfortable stay. Without a doubt, the breakfast surpassed all our expectations, ranking as the best we've had during our time in Sri Lanka! I wholeheartedly recommend staying here. The staff members were not only delightful but also incredibly helpful, enhancing our overall enjoyment of the stay.

The aircon in our room was a little outdated and noisy and the bathrooms are becoming outdated but all super clean and worked perfectly.
