The host really made us feel welcomed, 😊and also facilitated a great safaritour in Udalawawe for us. I would recommend this tour because instead of going 3hrs you go for a 5hr tour. The host is really clear that there are no hidden fees🙏🤗

Upal is the friendliest and most welcoming host we’ve met in Sri Lanka. Outstanding 2 night stay here. Fantastic safari, we saw so many animals. Despite it being holidays in Sri Lanka Upul and his mother cooked us and the other guests a delicious dinner. Really recommend staying here if you consider doing Safari in Udawalawe.

The property is really nice. It consists of a few separate rooms/huts all centred around a garden, each with their own chairs outside. The room was nicely decorated and clean. The bed was large and comfortable. The owner was very friendly, talking to us and telling us about Sri Lankan culture, people, and his family which was really nice. Dinner and breakfast were also provided and were both very delicious. And finally, the safari arranged was fantastic and very easy. I arrived in the morning and upon arrival was able to arrange a safari for the same afternoon. I would definitely recommend this guesthouse.

The town of Udawalawe is pretty basic there is no other reason to visit unless you are going on safari or visiting the Elephant orphanage.

Upul, and his family is what made this stay so great. The accommodation was clean and comfortable and really great value for money. We eat with Upul in the evening and the home cooked Sri Lankan feast was very special indeed, with some really interesting local produce dishes. Upul was so helpful and informative that we chose to go on his safari too. This proved to be the best decision and one that we would highly recommend to anyone. His knowledge and relaxed customer focused approach really made it a memorable experience for us. A safari breakfast was included which ate on the banks of a lake watching monkeys, kingfishers, and storks... magical. Thank you Upul for your fabulous hospitality and great conversations. From which we learnt a lot about Sri Lanka. x

This hotel exceeded expectations! The owner’s warmth and eagerness to assist made us feel truly welcome. Every facility, from the beautiful bedroom to the little terrace was clean and well-maintained, giving us a comfortable and warm welcome to Udawalawe. The host helped us to organise a safari which was excellent and very good value. We saw lots of animals and really enjoyed the trip! The breakfast was delicious (we had it beside the lake as part of the safari), and the cleanliness throughout the hotel was impeccable, with our room providing a cozy retreat in nature. The owner gave us lots of advice for our trip and was super friendly. Overall a great experience!

Really nice 3 little cottages with nice interiors! Good dinner at this place as well. Book the Safari at this place. Took almost 6hrs and was an absolute Highlight on our trip in Sri Lanka. Highly recommend to come here!

Beautiful place in nature, very friendly and service-oriented host. We also did a safari arranged by the host and were very happy with it: We had a guide and a driver who showed us elephants, a leopard, crocodiles eagles and many more. The breakfast was delicious!

The host was lovely, friendly and helpful who organised a safari for us. We really liked the appoarch the owner takes regrading safaris. He offers group tours and the driver we had was super chilled and respectful towards the animals. We also saw a leopard which was a bonus!

Perfect stay! The location is quiet & the rooms are incredible. Very clean and comfortable: shower that works perfectly, comfortable bed, air conditioning. The small town center is a 10-minute walk away, with restaurants and a small shop. I went on safari with the host and the value for money is unbeatable: 5h safari, all included (breakfast, entrance, etc.). It really met my expectations! I can only recommend staying at Private Organic House.

A Real, local experience, welcoming host, for a small addition fee, he cooked us a great dinner, best local food we had , better than any “traditional” restaurants we had , also gave us a real good price for a safari, which lasted for 6 hours ( most tours do 4hrs)

There is limited daylight in the huts as the window lacks glass so you don’t want to leave it open at night or let in the heat during the day.

It is a small and serene place with just 3 huts and lovely family that will help you organize everything - from safari to transfers. The host even drove me to places in town for free. The hut is really cute and I really liked the pebbles in the bathroom.

Nothing, I could have stayed forever!

There was nothing I did not like about this property. Everything was just perfect. The room was absolutely gorgeous with a such a beautiful bathroom [the floor was filled with stones]. The accommodation itself was so unique, clean and comfortable with really good A/C. It also had a mini fridge and was stocked with drinks and beer. It’s in a good location to the town and a bus stop right outside. The service of the hosts exceeded all expectations. I have never met such accommodating and attentive hosts, they brought us little homemade organic snacks when we came back from a long walk and always made sure we had everything we needed. They were so helpful with recommendations around the local area and sorting onward travel. I also loved the meals at this property, we shared them with all the other guests [there are three huts] and it was a nice opportunity to get to know them as well as the host himself, who also sat with us. His wife prepared the most amazing Sri Lankan curry, one of the best we have had! The breakfast was also very generous, different things each morning. We were very full after!! We also had different types of juice and they also offered coffee, which we have found not a lot of places offer this. Everything was just perfect, I could not recommend this place more. The effort and warm nature of this accommodation/ family is just outstanding. 10000/10!!!!!!
