On booking, it says the room comes with an AC, but it's actually just a fan. It's definitely ok for that price!

The breakfast was self-made and delicious. The dinner was not included but definitely worth the price!! The owner is super friendly, and his family is very nice :)

We all enjoyed our stay here. Our hosts were incredibly personable, warm, friendly and communicative to our entire family. We had breakfast and dinner here, and it was just lovely. The food area setup is very cool, and the food was terrific. The buffalo curd was incredibly delicious. We organised our safari through them, and it was amazing! Our hosts provided a lovely snack bag which was such a considerate thing to do. We travelled with young children, and our hosts were incredibly friendly to them. My children adored them both. Overall, the owners are lovely people who make you feel right at home. Sri Lanka is filled with beautiful places, but this place stood out.

. The location is good for Udawalawe just a short walk to shops and easy access for safaris. The setting was idyllic surrounded by foliage and next to the river. It was the staff who made it. Lucky was great and very informative we had some great conversations with him, he and his team were so helpful, the restaurant staff, chef, front of desk and gardener were all so welcoming and did everything to ensure we had a wonderfully comfortable stay. We would recommend this hotel

I had a perfect stay here!! The staff goes above and beyond to make sure you have everything you need and even got fresh eggs and fruit when I requested a meal!! It’s clean, spacious and very comfortable! Great location, close to everything including the bus stop and a supermarket! They helped to arrange a great morning safari too. I can’t recommend staying here enough!!

The host was very kind and helpful. He waited for us on the bus staion and take us to the accomodation in the tuk tuk. The accomodation was nice and clean. The dinner was delicious. We had a nice view to the jungle garden from our room. The host managed a safari tour for us. The jeep picked us at 6 am. We had a great breakfast in Udawalawe. We saw a lot of elephants and other animals. After safari he helped us with a taxi. I completely recommend this accomodation.

1. They have many accommodations from the same family and change the names (Nice View Cottage; Elephant Paradise; River Front, etc) so frequently that neither the neighbours can follow, so even asking to 2 neighbours, they didn’t know the place that we booked. 2. We arrived very tired and didn’t want to do the safari at 5am in the next day, so the owner thought we wouldn’t do safari and asked us to leave, saying that he would close the house. It was a very uncomfortable situation. 3. They don’t have wifi at all, their excuse is the monkeys broke it…, and the signal doesn’t work there, so you will be without any connection. 4. In the end we didn’t have the opportunity to do the tour with them, but we were offered tours much cheaper than the $60 that they offered us for the safari. 6. After waiting for more than 1 hour, some local helped us to call the owner that was fishing 20 minutes from there and came to welcome us. Make sure to book the right place, because if you seems lost, dozens of tuk-tuks will arrive at the same time to offer safaris. 7. Owner unstable, will put you out if confronted by the fact that the kettle (that is specified in the ad) is not provided.

The room was not cleaned (toilet and trash from previous guests), but the family offered a welcome fruit juice and allowed us to cook is their kitchen.
