This property was absolutely incredible. So tastefully designed but also incredibly friendly and welcoming. My backpack broke and they fixed it for me with the upmost ease out of the kindness of their hearts. They also went above and beyond to accommodate us - even outside of accommodation time (they let us check in early and leave our bags and even have a shower after check out!). A must stay if you’re in hikkaduwa and a real stand out property. Oh and the breakfasts are divine!

There is absolutely nothing, everything was perfect :)

I loved the whole design of the hotel, it was really such a treat to stay there. The rooms are beside the design fully equipped and nothing is missing. Moreover, you can visit the gallery on the Main Street which belongs to the owner as well - if you are up for more art 😊. The breakfast was super delicious and last but absolutely not least the friendliness of the staff and manager. We felt very much welcome from the moment we arrived. If you have a chance to stay at this hotel, I would definitely recommend you do so 💯😊

A very good breakfast with mixed Sri Lankan food and western toast . Very nice with fruit plate and exotic fresh juice , It was a good location in a calm street and took only a few minutes to walk to the beach and main street .

Super nice staff, modern rooms and hotel design, very clean rooms, great breakfast - prepared with a lot of care & with local flavour. Location is also good, few minutes walking from the beach and in a quiet little area surrounded by nature.

Located a very quiet environment, the hotel is wonderfully decorated in terms of design, the original lighting gives a subdued and nice atmosphere. The bedroom is perfectly organized, the bed is so comfortable and the bathroom is modern. I could not imagine a better breakfast in a hotel, à chef is coming every morning and food is served in good quantity and the quality is very good. The manager Theekshana is a very kind person always ready to help and highly reactive if you have any request. Thank you for this experience!

Absolutely nothing.

From the moment we booked the hotel staff looked after us right up until the point that we ended our trip. They took excellent care of us. Nothing was too much trouble including getting plasters and making a diabetic breakfast for me. Rooms were stunning and we even visited the Art shop and purchased some beautiful items. A lovely touch was checking we arrived home safe after leaving Sri Lanka!

Coconut drink welcome, modern and styled instalations. Toileties and minibar really appreciated. Good and generous local breakfast at the artistic dinning room. We really recommend Saffron Hotel, good value for money.

Our vacation in Sri Lanka was unforgettable, and this is largely thanks to the Saffron Robes Living. We are ready to sing praises of the service, beauty, and tranquility that we found here. We would like to especially thank the hotel manager Theekshana, who did everything to make our vacation fantastic. He sincerely cares about how the vacation is going and is always ready to help with any problem. The hotel's interior is conducive to solitude with oneself and nature. Paintings created by Dileepa are perfectly selected for each interior - whether it's the hotel foyer, the area near the pond with Japanese carp, or the walls of the room. Special attention should be paid to Poorna, an indispensable member of the hotel staff. He carefully surrounds guests with care and maintains the cleanliness of the hotel. Every morning he greets you with a smile and offers a glorious breakfast consisting of local cuisine. The tables are always perfectly set and adorned with fresh flowers. Thanks to Theekshana, we were able to meet Sange, who accompanied us on several trips and served as our guide to the sights. Next to the hotel is the Saffron Robes Gallery, where you can buy paintings, interior decorations, and souvenirs of any taste. Thank you for an incredible vacation, and we dream of returning soon! Maybe a small swimming pool would be nice, but did not really mis this. Perhaps the breakfast can be improved a bit. Now it's really traditional Sri Lankan breakfast but it would be nice to add some toast or sweets. Would also be nice to have some better coffee, think that would be in line with the beautiful surrounding. And a little menu with some snacks and drinks during the day might add some value.

We really recommend to hotel when visiting Hikkaduwa. Located only a few minutes from the beach and main road. One of a kind in Sri Lanka in terms of styling. It is clear that the hotel is owned by a artist family as there are beautiful paintings everywhere. The owner is almost friendly and willing to help you with everything. He arranged a taxi to the airport, laundry and print service very well. Don't forget to visit their art gallery as well for some souvenir and art shopping. Room was very nice and had all necessities (nice beds, safe, mini bar, great shower).

What a real find - beautiful post modern contemporary villa recently constructed. Owned by the local art gallery owner who is meticulous about detail. The room, location, price, hospitality make it one of the winners of my trip.

We had an excellent stay at Saffron Robes Living! The Hotel has just opened in January 2023 (that's why there are not that many reviews yet) and has a modern design. Room and bathroom were very beautiful and clean; the bathroom is an open one, which means that there is fresh air, a small whole in the shower and a gap in the wall between shower and toilet-area. Rooms are well equipped with A/C, mini-bar, safe, hairdryer, ... Staff was extremely friendly and welcomed us warmly with a drinking coconut. Breakfast consisted of tea/coffee, a freshly pressed juice, a fruit platter, and some local dishes, such as dhal curry, chicken curry, sambal with rice noodles and roti. It was very tasty!! However, not everyone is a fan of curry for breakfast, so be aware of that. We have already suggested the staff to offer also an alternative for europeans, so they might do so in the future :)

The hotel has a wonderful design, a lot of thoughtful little things, a separate pleasure is an orthopedic mattress, comfortable pillows and pleasant fresh bedding, the room is very bright) Everything you need for life is within walking distance (shops, ATM, restaurants)
