This is a hidden gem in Negambo. I had doubts when we fist arrived at the gate but once we went inside, it opened up to a little paradise. Hats off to all staff from the reception to restaurant. They made sure our stay was comfortable and even entertained our ad-hoc meal requests. The rooms were clean and spacious. Even the bathrooms were huge. The pool helped us to cool down and keep the kids entertained. The restaurant have a good ala-carte menu with lots of options. We choose to go to a near by 4-star hotel for the lunch buffet one of the days, which was 5 mins away. On the day we were going to the airport, the bell boys helped us to weigh our luggage using the hotel's scale. I would highly recommend Seahorse Hotel to anyone.

The dinner buffet could be improved, only a half of the buffet area was served for the dinner buffet just having one rice and one noodle option as main dishes. There was a live staion available where you could get pasta/sphagetti but the taste of that was also average. Only had few dessert options as well (couldn't call it a dessert corner). Overall the dinner buffet was not upto satisfactory.

"Indulging in the breakfast buffet at SeaHorse hotel was an absolute delight! unlike the dinner buffet the spread was extensive, offering a wide variety of both hot and cold options to cater to every palate. The breakfast had both Sri Lankan and Western Cuisines including freshly baked pastries to made-to-order omelets, corn flakes milk rice and many more. Tea/coffee was also available at the buffet. The staff were attentive and friendly, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The ambiance of the breakfast area (we had it right next to the pool) was inviting, making it the perfect way to start the day.

Decking is dangerous and needs replacing in full. Sunloungers need cushions, very uncomfortable. Also pool side chairs also uncomfortable. Some soft furnishings dirty.

Decking around pool dangerous- needs urgent total replacement. Sun loungers extremely uncomfortable- need cushions. Door 1003 needs urgent repair, complained many times, told needs ‘hard shove’ - not good enough.

Food was excellent as were the cocktails. Staff very attentive.

Like almost all other hotel guests: - There are no cushions on the sunbeds. (I sat on the lounger briefly after swimming without a towel and the brown colour of the loungers stuck to me). - The wood around the pool urgently needs to be replaced. - Pool towels should be disposed of and new ones bought. Apparently many hotels in the area have an investment backlog. But at least the cushions and replacement of pool towels don't cost a lot. I think it is a massive business mistake to constantly receive poorer ratings because of this.

We didnt get allocated the rooms we booked for and had to climb a lot of stairs with no handrail and as I have had both my knees replaced it was difficult to go up and down

Although the staff were nice, service was lacking and on all occasions very slow. Walking around the pool was to be taken with care as there were many damaged deck boards that were either split, rotted, or had metal bolt heads sticking up proud, not a place for children, in most places they would be condemned.

Had 4 leaks during a rain storm in my room. Took along time to get 4 buckets to collect the water. The ceiling in 4 spots rained into room. This was not the first time evident from past water pooling in room. FIX The roof.

We loved the hotel decor and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed both breakfast and lunch at the hotel. There was a lot of choice. Walking distance to plenty of bars restaurant and the beach.

Shower door broken . Spa isn’t working properly, no lights for using late in the evening. Grass needs trimming .

Great service . Thank you to everyone including Lala who looked after us. He also accompanied us on the boat tour , feeding monkeys , beach tea. Great high tea area. We had a great time .

The hotel was a little hard to get to (narrow roads that would become flooded with the rain).

Fantastic little hotel in the heart of Negombo. The staff was very attentive and friendly and offered us a welcome drink and a cold tower at check-in. The breakfast (and all other meals) offered at the hotel was splendid, very varied and delicious!

Great pool, delicious breakfast. A few mins walk from the beach. Very comfortable and spacious. They helped us organise a lagoon trip in a very efficient way. Very relaxing. Good value for money.
