It would be great if it was easier to order food directly from the pool lounges. Also if the hotel had its own sun lounges on the beach.

Stuff are not educated how to deal with client in phone you call before you finish they close the line in your face and this is normal for all of stuff no explanation and I believe due to the language communication they want to run away

It’s a little dated, needs a bit of an upgrade, pool towels, sun deck loungers etc. Train is very loud, not the hotels fault though!

Check in experience - had to wait over an hour to get into the room. Didn’t set right expectation. Guests should be contacted in advance if room isn’t ready. Management & Communication - there seems to be a clear lack of leadership at the hotel. It’s not clear who are management and when requesting help/info the team lacked knowledge (especially of the local area). Communication - on our final night there was very very loud party on the beach which sent vibrations throughout the hotel. The hotel management failed to inform guests that the party would end at 3am not 1:30am as per duty manager on the front desk. The apology in the morning was an offer of lunch despite informing front desk we were checking out. Goes back to the lack of communication between staff. Housekeeping - multiple requests for water. Although the team were attentive it always felt they were hanging around for a tip every day. Also requested engineer to fix lock on door - engineer came and went no fix. Bathroom - shower leaked which meant wasting a towel every day. Location and facilities - if it rained you had no options within the resort other than staying in your room - the hotel needs to invest in a proper games room and kids club. Sustainability - despite having a plastic recycling collection bin near the beach entrance, the hotel could go an extra mile by offering guests an incentive of a free drink or something if they collect plastic from the beach using a branded sustainable bag for example. Drivers room - out driver left due to mosquitoes in room. Please look after drivers rooms as they are critical to the guests. Food - the variety was limited and could have benefited from fresh fruit options. Overall I would strongly recommend a review of customer experience management, info in rooms about local area and consideration of upgrading the games room from a pool table to games/ art classes/ kids club activities (such as beach clean or surf lessons).

Facilities and location - two pools and beach access were great. Room - size of room was great. Sustainability - appreciated the plastic recycling efforts (see below for further ideas)

The food at the bar was very disappointing, I would eat out. The staff were ok but not at all close to the friendliness that we have encountered in Sri Lanka so far. Some extra details would be nice, for example, the pool was completely unshaded and the ground around the pool was so hot that people were running around. Things like a rug or a few umbrellas would have gone a long way.

This place is right on the beach and the water is warm and spectacular. There are two pools and they are a lovely way to spend the very hot days.

The food preparation time from the a la carte restaurant in the bar area was exceptionally long. More staff needed here to speed up the food service.

Lovely comfortable rooms with all the mod cons. The garden in and around the pool were beautiful and very inviting. The breakfast in the restaurant was amazing. There was so much choice, it was difficult to decide what to eat and what not to.

The swimming pool was clean and warm. Breakfast was excellent with loads of choice. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The hotel was well situated on the beach close to restaurants and a couple of bars. The communal areas had nice sofas and plenty of sun beds and grassed areas for relaxation.

Some deterioration of rooms and amenities typical to a damp environment should be attended to more frequently. For example the toilet faucet was dripping a bit and it was hard to completely shut off.

Nice staff. Large windows overlooking the ocean in our room. Well designed pool and bar area. What more can you want from a relaxing resort?

No reply to messages sent 1 month before arrival and also no reply to browns hotel email when tried to contact directly. We found this strange as we had booked a lot of other hotels throughout Sri lanka who had all replied to messages.Also on arrival they tried to put us in a lessor room then one we had booked and it only had beds for 3 people not 4. When we raised this on entering the room we were taken back to reception and then told our room had been overbooked and we could have lessor room then move to one we booked next day. After back and forth we finally spoke with resort manager who then upgraded us to the bungalow which was very nice.

The pool. The cleaners who cleaned our room made it special with an elephant made out of towels and frangipani flowers. Also the lady making the hoppers at breakfast always had a smile on her face. And kids loved the croquet game run by staff.

The room and furnishings were a little tired with some damage to fixtures and fittings as well as a smell of damp. Cushions for pool loungers were heavily stained and had a strong odour.

The hotel is in a good location , near to the station and town with direct access to the beach. The room was large with a nice balcony looking out to the garden and beach. The pool was a good size and not busy during our stay which was ideal. Staff were friendly and helpful.
