How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Everything was so good, and the owner was very kind and very supportive. The location was lil bit away from the main road, but the location was very calm without any distractions. Kitchen stuff is good and included all the equipment and can be use with some extra charge. Rooms were very clean, tidy and spacious. Overall, everything was perfect and stayed for 2 days.

Situated bit far away from ancient city, Need to be cautious when going by a car which ground clearance is too low because need to drive on some narrow bumpy roads ....
It's really value for money.. entire home is very good spacious clean and comfortable ... Two bed rooms living room and kitchen with utensils all these for very cheap price.... owner also very humble and helpful ...... Recommend everybody to choose it,, really value for money...

I had a wonderful experience with my host on booking.com. The host was not only friendly but also went above and beyond to make my stay enjoyable. Amazing little flat with 1 bedroom (containing 2 double beds). We paid the extra 500 to use the kitchen as we miss cooking sometimes while longterm travelling, the facilities were great, has everything you need at a really reasonable price! Very close to ancient ruins just down the main road.

The home stay is very clean. It is a very quiet environment. You feel free like you are in your own home. The owner is also very friendly. The food is very tasty. They charge a very reasonable price for the food as well as the accommodation. Hope to come again. Highly recommended.

serene homestay has a friendly environment and the owner's hospitality makes it an ideal place to stay. It is a great value for money and also the location is great. A calm and quiet area, however, it is a little bit out of town. there were no disturbances. Owners are really helpful and they do their best to help you. I would highly recommend this place to all visitors. They provide vegetarian food and it was delicious.

We asked from the owner before we come weather they provide mosquito nets. At the time we stay there are no mosquito nets. So we bought one. If you have kids pls bring one if they not provide it. After our stay we request them to have mosquito nets. It's difficult to find the location. Serene Homestay located end of the narrow road but your family vehicle can reach there. There wasn't name board in December 2022.
Everything is ok Helpful owner and supportive wife there. Owner guides us over the phone and his wife waiting corner of the road to show the location because Google Map location ends 200M to 300M before the location. You can use the kitchen by paying additional Rs. 500 and the kitchen has almost everything. (Gas, gas stove, refrigerator, rice cooker, filter water & etc) Newly built Homestay almost everything is new.

Only drawback was that there wasn't a name board along the way. It was a little bit difficult to find the way at first but Google maps will show you the way to doorstep.
The owners were really helpful and pleasant. Place was very well maintained and super clean. 99.99% satisfied.

Great Place for a family Stay. quite a location. Good clean and value for money.Highly recommended. The owner is very supportive and flexible, trying to improve comfort with kind service.
