This place is amazing value for money! One of the best places we stayed at in Sri Lanka during 3 weeks! The pool is great, breakfast is good, host is kind and lovely! Room was clean and nice.

The best homestay we had in Sri Lanka. The hosts are the nicest people. The lady made us feel so welcome. They would arrange scooter or loundry or safarii or anything you want. There are only two rooms so the whole stay felt like home. We had the lovely pool for ourselves. Room was big, pretty and clean. Perfect working AC and fun. Location is nice but I would suggest rent a scooter and have a freedom of exploring Sigyryja. However the are few restaurants in walking distance or host can cook for you some dishes as well. Don't hesitate to book it. You will love it.

It isn't too close to anything apart from an amazing local restaurant around the corner. But that didn't bother us at all.

Perfect spot in Sigiriya. The hosts were so so kind and attentive. We were very independent guests and they let us do our own thing. Breakfasts were enjoyable and the hosts were flexible with whatever time we wanted. The pool was clean and perfect for cooling down. Very close to main attractions - 10 mins to Lion Rock, 25 mins to Pidurangala, 30 mins to Eco Elephant park. All accessible by Tuk Tuk for cheap. Would highly recommend Shan Mango to others.

The owners are just wonderful! Very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was delicious and so was dinner. The pool is great and very welcome after a warm day. Some small restaurants within a few minutes walk.

Everything! The accommodation is close to everything, but still really nice and quitely located, so it’s very relaxing. The rooms are perfect, with mosquito nets and an amazing hot shower. But the best here are the owners, they are super friendly and there for everything you might need. Also don’t forget to try the food here, because it’s so so good!

The hosts at Shan Mango Homestay (Shoolini & her husband) were exceptional hosts! We were arriving very early in the day and when I told them about it, they allowed us to check in early in the morning and did not allow someone else to book the previous night (just so that they can have the rooms ready for us). They were willing to forgo an extra night's rent! While there, we were treated to delicious breakfast & dinner (they made vegetarian dishes for us). They have beautiful mango & passion-fruit trees. They gave us plenty of both to eat and take home with us. They also have a cute, little pool but we couldn't use it because it was raining most of the time we were there in Sigiriya The rooms and bathrooms were clean and we got plenty of hot water. The only small negative was that the pressure in the health-faucet & wash basin were a little low. We told them about it and they said they will look into it Overall, highly recommended!

Undoubtedly our best homestay experience so far! This homestay, managed by two sweet, kind, attentive, and professional owners, exceeded our expectations. We were sad to say goodbye after three nights. The room is well-equipped, with a comfortable bed, a nice warm shower, and efficient air conditioning. The beautiful, clean pool was a great addition. The food here was amazing. So much so that we decided to dine here every evening. Breakfast was also a delightful experience every morning with delicious dishes. We highly recommend everyone to book a stay here!

Amazing!! The owners are very sweet and incredibly attentive. They helped us order tuk tuks, spa treatment (can recommend Spa Serandib) and an amazing elephant safari in the Eco Park which was very reasonable compared to other big national parks. We saw around 40 elephants in total. Thank you to our driver!! The property is beautiful, very quiet and in the country side - a perfect oasis for a chilled few days. It's a 10 minute drive to Sigiriya 'town' - there's a local bus for 200 rupees pp, otherwise a tuk tuk for around 600/700. The food was delicious and we were given fresh mango juices (from the garden). Breakfast is huge and changed daily. We saw a monkey on property and heard rustlsings of a nearby elephant!! We stayed for 3 nights and were offered fresh towels and a room clean everyday. I cannot recommend this place enough - wish we had more time here! Thank you to our lovely hosts.

Warm, kind & helfpum family. Beautiful room with spaceous bed. Pool is so nice for cooling off. We did a cooking class with the family. It was a great experience! So much food and so good. Would 100% recommend this place!

We loved our stay at the Shan Mango Homestay and would highly recommend it! The hosts, Chulané and Sugath, are incredibly nice and we felt very welcome. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and very clean. We enjoyed sitting on the terrace or taking a dip in the pool which is surrounded by a beautiful garden full of mango trees. The breakfast was also great. Chulané and Sugath served different Sri Lankan specialties, eggs, toast and fresh fruit (including self-grown mangos of course) every morning. Our highlight was cooking together with the family. We learned how to prepare sambol and 4 different curries - and everything was delicious! We also went on a great jeep safari with Chulané’s cousin where we saw at least 20 elephants :)

The owners were wonderful people and the location was very serene. You have pool access and the food is awesome too! Our recommendation, stay a few days, enjoy their hospitality and its near sigiriya so you’ll have some ruins to visit as well.
