Great little guesthouse. Walking distance from plenty of restaurants and beautiful lake. Really nice garden, and the host is always around to assist with anything you need. Breakfast was also great. Would stay here again

We loved the place and enjoyed the hospitality of our host Ashoka and meal prepared by his daughter so much, that we changed our itinerary and came back for extra night at the end of our trip.

Isn't it wonderful to see the Lions rock straight from your balcony where you have freshly prepared very tasty breakfast. Add elephants, mongooses and monkeys and you couldn't imagine better place to stay. Not even mention an amazing service from your host Ashoka, who goes out of his way to accommodate your needs in any way possible. The room is specious and spotlessly clean. Dinner (prepared by Ashoka's daughter) were delicious. We had dinner there twice and each time we had something different. Would definitely recommend!

Clean and very kind host. Very good location. Ashok arranged safari ride for us and it was the best. Food cooked by Ashok’s wife was delicious.

The most beautiful setting, lovely and service minded host and the best breakfast! Clean and fresh room and bathroom. Birds sing in the morning and you might see elephants passing. We saw the footsteps. Perfect base for visiting many highlights.

There's a very strong smell of incense, it's not bad if you like the fragrance, for us it was a bit too much.

The location is perfect, really close to all the important attractions in Sigiriya. The room was very clean and tidy. The host was a very nice guy. Breakfast had varieties of local food and fruits, fresh juices, and coffee, and was amazing!

A very comfortable room with great A/C and a lovely terrace overlooking the garden where you have breakfast. Ashoka couldn't be more helpful arranging tours and onward travel, we were taken great care of to ensure we had a memorable trip. Definitely climb Pidarangula rock for absolutely stunning views! There were some really nice restaurants a short walk away and Ashoka can also provide a home cooked meal on the terrace.

I would suggest not to repeat the meals for those, eho stay more than one night. Vegetable curries were the same, though delicious.

The location is not in Sigiriya center, but you can reach on foot. The room is clean, spacious, the terrace very nice to spend evenings and have breakfast. The monkeys in the yard give extra spice to your stay, eepecially if you let them steal your breakfast:) The owner is very caring, and his lovely daughtera prepare delicious food. In case you need anything, the owner will organise for you.

Very clean and spacious room. Very nice terrasse with view to the jungle and the wild monkeys playing there. Very nice owner. He helped us organising a great safari with a guide who was respectful with the animals (he went close, but not too close to the elephants like other tourguides did). We also had a nice ayurvedic spa treatment which the owner recommended. Many thanks to Ashoka and his family!

We loved our stay at The Cattleya Guest House. The room was clean and spacious. The host was very warm and welcoming. Delicious breakfast enjoyed out on the verandah with a peaceful and serene outlook. Would definitely recommend!

I have never rated anywhere 10/10 before, but this place is honestly amazing. Firstly the room is spotlessly clean and is incredible value for the money, secondly the breakfast provided each morning is absolutely delicious, you get so much food and it is all homemade just before it is brought to you on your balcony to enjoy with a view of the jungle and Lions Rock. Finally the service provided by the host is literally the best service we have ever experienced in a guest house/ home stay. The owners went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had all the information about the local area. We also had trouble with our driver and the owners (Ashoka & his wife) helped us resolve this, they also got one of their friends to drive us to our next destination for a fraction of the price we had previously been quoted. In summary Ashoka and his wife went out of their way to make sure we were safe while in Sri Lanka. Their home is amazing and this is a must visit in my opinion when travelling Sri Lanka, it completely encapsulates the true Sri Lankan spirit.

Lovley place that I recommend to everyone visiting Sigiriya! The room was good size and clean. The terrace big and you could sit there and enjoy the beautiful garden and all the monkeys in the trees. Ashoka (the host and owner) did everything to make sure we had a great stay! He gave us good tips about the Lion Rock and helped us with transport to our next place. The food (that is homemade by his daughter!) was delicious! We ate dinner and breakfast at the terrace. We only stayed one night, but I wish we could have stayed many more.

A quaint little cottage surrounded by greenery, our stay was made perfect by the hospitality of Ashoka and his lovely family. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Each breakfast and dinner was delicious and traditional introduction to Sri Lankan cuisine. The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable and the property well located to get around the main tourist spots especially Lions Rock

This is a gem of a place. We were made to feel very welcome by Asoka and his family. It was so comfortable and peaceful that we ate on our terrace overlooking the pretty garden on our first night. The meal was home cooked and we enjoyed it so much we did the same again on each evening of our stay. It is a special place make all the more so by our hosts.

We loved everything!

our stay at The Cattleya Guest House was absolutely wonderful! The owner, Akosha and his family, were the most amazing hosts you could wish for. Akosha made some fantastic suggestions on where to visit and how to get there. He helped book drivers and guides if needed. He even got up at 4.50 am in the morning to take us to Sigiriya Rock so we could watch the sun rise! The property is a lovely location in east reach of all you need including restaurants. We chose to eat at the property and experienced some beautiful home cooked evening meals. The garden at the property is a wonderful secluded haven where you can spend time relaxing after a busy day exploring.

Nothing I didn't like :)

I loved my stay at the house, room is perfect and spotless clean, location is wonderful and super quiet. Breakfast is delicious and beautifully served in the tropical garden, in good company with birds and monkeys (who sometimes try to steal it :D which is super funny), and sometimes elephants pass by the garden, but I haven't seen them. Hot water, mosquitoes net around the huge and comfortable bed, lovely and super kind hosts. One night that I was a bit late Mr Ashoka was waiting for me awake, and with a torch to escort me to my room. Looking forward to going back!
