The bar and restaurant as well as all public areas are open air, so the only air conditioned place is your room. Luckily you can order food and drinks to your room. Don't wait till you are really hungry though as room service may take a lot longer than you will be told. Once food still hadn't been delivered an hour after ordering. While staff are super friendly and willing to help, service is uneven. On another occasion half the dishes in the order were cold and part of the order was missing. Similarly, I waited for an hour for someone to pick up my laundry and was still waiting when I had to go for a spa appointment. One morning the front desk was willing to change money while they told me the next morning that it wasn't possible. There is also no AC in the spa rooms but you can ask for the fan to be switched on. While I would stay here again I wouldn't class this as a 5 Star property, but it's a very solid 4 star hotel according to my personal experiences with hotel categories.

The view from the bar over the pool towards the Lion Rock is beautiful and that's what made me choose this hotel. The hotel was okay, breakfast was good and quite varied. Sandwich, fruit, boiled egg, croissant and a slice of cake were provided as a breakfast box whenever we left the hotel before breakfast as is usually the case when going for a day trip. Food from the menu was okay but not great and the limited choice of Sri Lankan dishes was a little disappointing. The Sri Lankan food I tried was good, though. The pool is nice enough although there are not always enough sun loungers. The spa was very good for Ayurvedic massage if a little pricey ($50 per hour which is more than double of what you pay in a non-hotel Spa in Mirissa). The rooms were functional and spacious enough. Free bottled water was provided every day and also during evening turndown service. There is nothing else in the minibar fridge though.The room was made up beautifully every day with messages made from grass and flowers on the sheets. The gardens were nice enough and well kept and sometimes birds can be observed on the grounds. Staff were generally extremely friendly throughout the hotel. Thank you all for your friendliness, kindness, and help. Overall, I would stay here again.

The staff is by far the best, and the property and the view are to die for. I could stay there for a month and never miss anything. The pool is lovely, with amazing views. The breakfast buffet is very delicious. I am telling all my family and friends to come here and all the Brown properties they should consider. Now, while you are visiting, MAKE SURE to do an oil massage with steam for 90 minutes, and ask Niroshani for the ladies and Anura for the men. The next day, you should do an hour-long exfoliating massage with Maha for another excellent experience. You will write me and thank me. When you come, make sure you ask for Mr Piyasiri Mariana as he is, in our opinion most welcoming person on earth.

Room was small for a family of 3. To open the fridge we had to move the single bed. Bathroom needs improvement but water pressure was great for Sri Lanka standards.

The view of the Lion Rock was amazing. Pool area nice and tidy. Beds comfortable. Nice breakfast surrounded by monkeys and jungle noises.

It was closer to the Sigiriya and couple of national parks. We were able to visit Sigiriya and also ECO PARK to observe wild elephants. Pool seems to be well maintained. Breakfast and dinner buffet is out of this world. They have an excellent collection of local and European food. Lot of food and we weren’t able to try everything. They have a tea cart which makes delicious tea.

The room was not so clean as expected, especially the bathroom. Leaking water from the shower, making the bathroom wet, the water never got warm. Stains in the bed linen. And the doors... So ugly doors.. Definitely needed to be at least painted.

I recently stayed at Hotel Sigiriya, and it was an excellent experience. The location is fantastic, offering a stunning view of Lion Rock from the pool. The staff were incredibly attentive, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay. The welcome drink was a lovely touch that set the tone for a great visit. The breakfast was very comprehensive, with a wide selection of both sweet and savory options at the buffet. Highly recommended!

The timing of dinner, it was late, you could order a la carte but it wasn't as good. The interactions with the front desk was weird, they were nice but we struggled getting a tuk tuk ordered for sunrise at Lion Rock.

The view of Lion Rock is incredible, they upgraded us to a suite so the room was great very comfortable and big. The massage facility at the hotel was the best we had in Sri Lanka.
