Really amazing staff! organized a transfer for us, changed our booking to 2 nights when our flight was delayed, showed us great hiking paths through tea plantations. the property is serene and has beautiful views, but for us 2-3 days would be enough here

Hello. My name is Polina :) I have the best impressions on this hotel. I spent there 5 days. The stuff always asked me where I was going to go, when I would come back and if I liked everything. That made me feel safe. Cute cleaning boys left flowers, inscriptions and towels, folded in different shapes on my bed. I want to note, that food and cocktails in the hotel restaurant were incredibly delicious. I've never tasted such dishes before. The hotel location is perfect. I got more than I could expect. Within and outside the territory there were almost no people. This is the best place in the whole world to have a rest from people and enjoy nature and solitude. Dogs, monkeys and lots of different species of birds live at the territory too. There is also a waterfall. Thank Isuzu, who accompanied me on the private trip and told a lot about birds and species, treated with fruits and berries and answered all my questions. Thank Dulakshi for the individual approach and attention. I also want to notice that I don’t speak English, but it wasn’t a problem. Each person at the hotel happily spoke to me using translator and didn’t regret to take time for it. Everybody was really responsive and helpful. Thank them all for their treatment. It’s definitely a place where I would like to return.

Just make sure you wear long clothes for the hike and take bug/leech protection as it was very jungly!

The hotel is in a beautiful location in the mountains. The rooms are spotless and huge, with a lovely balcony overlooking the view. The restaurant food was also brilliant and you get so much for the breakfast included! I was just stopping off for the night in between my journey from north to Nuwara Eliya and they organised a trek into the mountains and tea plantation for a really good price - my guide Ish was lovely and knew a lot about the local nature. The service was impeccable, the manager and waiters were very accommodating and lovely especially Wasantha. The infinity pool and gym are also really lovely and worth staying for!

The following is all very subjective and did not affect our mood or the quality of our stay much. Still would like to share: - Sometimes felt watched by the many service employees. - Needed to pre-order meals several hours in advance & breakfast even on the evening before & even got calls to our room telephone several times about it, when having intended to sleep. This was new to us, but can easily be avoided by talking to the hotel staff - Just one employee (in the restaurant) spoke decent English, which made gathering information on activities, menu choices, etc. difficult for us...

Great location, outside of Ella - beautiful nature with lots of animals on and around the property. Amazing walks through the tea plantages that belong to the hotel. Nice facilities on the property& very engaged and friendly personnel.

Only two other guests in massive hotel made it feel very empty. Dinner not the best. Otherwise no compaints.

The staff were very attentive and helpful. The room was lovely. The pool was beautiful and the view was gorgeous. Loved all the hotel free-bes (comb, sewing kit, shaving kit etc) and that there was an iron in the room! Sri lankan breakfast was delicious!

common pool was very next to our bungalow and was loud in the morning by other guests only option to request the breakfast to room is to go all the way down to restaurant and chooses then they will deliver, it will be better if they have a menu option for whoever wants the breakfast to room we found termite droppings on the room floor, probably from wood roof

A secluded gem of a hotel if you just want to enjoy the peace and serenity of the hill country. Exceptional pool where we experienced the most incredible sunset. Restaurant food and breakfast of a excellent quality. Guided tour of knuckles range was also a highlight for us.

Simpson’s Forest Hotel is set in the beautiful hills surrounding Kandy giving you a grounded connection to nature. It truly is a relaxing atmosphere and the staff are alway eager to help. When we arrived a the hotel we were greeted by Isuru and immediately felt like we had returned home. Isuru even allowed our youngest to feed the fish whilst we checked. The setting for the hotel has some astonishing views and the infinity pool provides you with one of the best locations to witness the sunset over Kandy.

The location is 15km out of Kandy but it takes 45mins in a car / tuk tuk. If you want to explore Kandy it’s a bit far. It’s really lacking any atmosphere, the bar and restaurant could do with some music as it’s very quiet.

Amazing pool and view. Very clean and spacious rooms. The setting in the hills within tea plantation is beautiful.
