Was clean, my room had a lovely view. Rooftop pool was great. Staff were very friendly. Was just a short overnight stop arriving in Colombo before moving on to Ella the next day. Pretty perfect.

Whilst the rooftop pool was good, the facilities surrounding it weren't as good. There was only 10 lounge chairs for the entire hotel, which if timed incorrectly, would mean you were without somewhere to relax on the roof. There is additional space on the roof for further chairs but it is to be seen if more are provided in the future. The same goes for the cushions on the chairs. When we tried out the pool, there was only 5 cushions, as the rest had been sent to clean, meaning there were chairs without cushions and it wasn't really comfortable. The breakfast, whilst a good selection, was cold as the lids for the trays were kept open. This is only applicable to the hot items, as there was also quite a lot of items that didn't require heating. However, the breakfast was a bit lacklustre in terms of flavour and consistency, such as the idli (south indian steamed rice cake) was quite heavy (it is supposed to be light and fluffy). These are very minor issues, ones that will no doubt be rectified with time, but ones that were present during our stay.

With the hotel being fairly newly opened, it was very clean with no apparent issues of maintenance. The room was a good size with all the amenities that would be required for a stay in a hotel. The rooftop infinity pool was really nice, with good views of the sea and the city. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and would not hesitate to help if asked. The breakfast had a good spread and items could be requested from the kitchen if the buffet wasn't suitable.

Check in time took a bit long. But there was a very comfortable lobby area to relax in.

Underground parking and easy to park. Unloaded our luggage before we went down and they brought it right to our room after check in. During check-in they gave us a nice refreshing shot of a tamarind cooler. The room's sea view was really quite amazing. It was even more amazing from the pool which we enjoyed. They provided beach towels to use while we were up there and there were very comfortable loungers to use under sun umbrellas. The pool itself was an infinity pool where you have a view into the ocean on one end. The room itself was really good. The bed and pillows were all very comfortable and the fridge worked great. The shower was really amazing. The water pressure was good and hot water came out in a matter of seconds. Huge mirror and well-lit and towels were soft and fluffy. Breakfast in the morning was amazing. Maybe they fixed it after all the other reviews. We had a buffet that included a fresh omlette/waffle/pancake station, assortment of different breads, warm food (rice, roti, hoppers, curry, sausages, bacon, mushrooms, baked beans, grilled tomatoes), cold cuts, salad, fresh fruits, sweet pastries, tea, coffee, juice... Not sure what else other people needed but for us it was plenty! The service is also very good. Everyone was very friendly and always smiling. It was really nice to see. They were also always very responsive and kind with us. The location was rather central. About 10mins to the Galle Face Green area, 15mins into the dutch hospital area, about 15minutes to the national museum and Independence Square area. If I come back to Colombo again, I would definitely stay here again!

Right, so this is how it started. I once checked in at around 00:00 AM having made a booking through an OTA. The gentleman who welcomed me was Mr. Lewis who was one of the most polite people I have met. He was very humble, welcoming and kind. Very hospitable too. He honestly made me feel like home. As soon as I entered, I loved the way the hotel looked. It's very chic and simple. It's also lit up nicely. The staff at the ground floor were very welcoming and kind too. I entered and then as I mentioned Mr. Lewis did his perfect job. I was truly 'feeling' it! He was kind enough to give me a 'special' room that has a sea view on the first night. He escorted me to my room and I loved the room. The room is pretty spacious. It has all amazing amenities. What I truly loved is the bathroom fittings. The 'Hansgrohe' bathroom fittings was top class especially the shower. The beds were comfortable and it was amazing! Now, I had only booked for one night. The next day, I extended. And, I switched my room. One of the best parts is that I didn't feel like leaving because the staff were so kind to me and the next best part is that I booked it with breakfast. The breakfast was a buffet and it was good. Now, as time passed - I kept extending. I came for 1 night and ended up staying for 10 nights because it felt like home. The staff were all like family. I used to wake up super late around late afternoon during my stay while I have booked it with breakfast. Of course, I missed my buffet. But, I usually just call them and they send me this large special breakfast called the 'Sofia Special Breakfast' to my room even though it's tough and inconvenient for them as it is lunch time. They have the best mocktail menu at the bar. Honestly, highly recommended. The prices are really good too. Highly recommended to watch the sunset, have delicious drinks and have a good chat. I know this sounds like a marketing review but it is not.

There were not much variety in terms of breakfast and after a few days, it gets tiring having the same things which were not Sri lankan/ asian dishes for breakfast

The lights were on a sensor and kept turning off while I was reading and on when I went to the toilet in the middle of the night. Apart from this no problem.

The only downside for me in this entire experience is the customer service agent managing bookings on behalf of the landlord/management company. I found them unnecessarily pushy on numerous occasions when it came to payments, reviews , etc. If you can't see past this relatively minor fact , then you'll have a great time.

We loved everything about the place and the service provided by Sujeet ( the place care taker on site ) and the management company looking after the property ( they bought toys for our daughter as there were none at the property) Breakfast was cooked fresh daily and was very good. The location was not bad either but note the beaches around the property aren't that nice, so you will need to travel 10min by tuktuk to get the nicer ones. We also wish we went at a different time than mid-April as the city was dead, but that's our fault.

The hotel is so beautiful, the rooftop pool is incredible and the storm and sunset watching from there was great. The staff are so attentive and helpful. There were plenty of choices at breakfast and the food was great. It was a shame the alcohol license hadn't yet been approved but it was an easy walk to the shop to get a few beers. There is also a great ice cream shop over the road. It was about a 30 minute walk or a short tuk tuk ride to the Galle Face Green, which was lovely in the evening.

The water as well as the amenities are small bottles and packed in plastic. Better get re-fillable bigger option and re-fill when doing the daily service with water, shower gel, shampoo and body lotion. Although there is the sign that if you hang your towel, they will not exchange it, it still happened every day. It's sad if you want to contribute to the saving of laundry and do the needful yet the towels are still getting exchanged. Small things to adjust to make the overall experience even better! We only ate breakfast once, which we have to say was a bit disappointing. The choice is quite small and for the price you pay not worth. I recommend to rather go and find a small cafe around the area which will have better and cheaper choices.

It was a very nice, new hotel which is located quite convenient to reach good shopping malls, embassy or or government facilities. The room was very quiet, the bed super comfortable. They provided everyday enough water, there was an iron board and iron in the room too. Fantastic view over the ocean but also partially the skyline of Colombo

We arrived at 2am from the airport and the checkout process was very slow, would be great to speed it up when customers arrive late and just want to go to sleep! But otherwise no complaints, the staff was very nice.
