With the temple in front of the hotel is was quite loud during the day but especially in the morning (mainly in March because of special celebration). WiFi should be included in that price. We missed at least a short make up of the room every day (or second day, we stayed 4 nights).

Great location. A bit out of the busy center of the city, great view and a lot more calm than in the middle of the city (just do not come in March as it is quite noisy with the hindu celebrations). The rooms are very special with the jacuzzi in the room and the open concept. The view is amazing over the whole city (sunrise incl.) also from the breakfast area at the top. The breakfast is as a great combination between European and local breakfast and the team even made breakfast ready when we had to leave early. Also the laundry service was super helpful. Super kind staff!

Construction works opposite of the hotel. Window giving out to the gallery did not close properly, no safe in the room.

Clean, modern and comfortable rooms, great view over Kandy. Nice rooftop terrace. Staff is friendly and helpful. You have to pay with paypal, which is better than cash payments that many hotels ask.

Everything! This property is set in the hills and the view we got from our room was beautiful, even in the rain and cloud! From the moment we stepped in, the chef (whose name we never got unfortunately) was so accommodating and friendly. Just a short walk into the centre, it is a good location. We had both breakfast and dinner at Square Peg and we cannot recommend it enough - the dinner in particular was so very delicious - make sure you're hungry enough as there is a lot to go round! Thank you for such a great stay.

property is tricky to find so make sure you get directions before driving there. also there was no space in the room really to put things away and store bags. I think it was a little overpriced.

Really lovely guest house just on the outskirts of Kandy. The hot tub on the balcony was absolute dream and stunning views over the city. breakfast was nice and simple and refillable coffee is always a win. staff were very lovely and attentive.

Great communication and very helpful staff. Dinner was an absolute feast and delicious. The host made breakfast for us early as we were leaving early. Views from the roof terrace are stunning. Walking distance from the Sacred Tooth Temple. Awesome room too!

Property is great but Kandy definitely only warrants a 1 night stay in our opinion if you are tight for time exploring Sri Lanka.

Fantastic views from our room and roof terrace out over the bustling city of Kandy! The breakfast and dinners were some of the best meals we had during our whole Sri Lanka trip, with a super friendly Chef who really takes care of you! Would definitely recommend!

The wifi in the room had to be paid for which we didn't expect, however there is complimentary wifi in the restaurant. The hotel is also at the top of a very steep hill, which isn't suitable for vans/large people carriers, so unless you're in a small car we'd recommend getting a tuktuk at the bottom of the hill - worth it though!

Square Peg is a really stylish boutique hotel with a great view of Kandy. The city is pretty busy, so this was a wonderful haven away from it all. The restaurant at the top of the hotel is open air and was an amazing spot to have the incredible breakfast overlooking the city. The room (and jacuzzi on the balcony?!) were really trendy and it was nice to treat ourselves to a bit of luxury in the middle of our trip.

A few more charging points in the room would be nice. Also, this didnt bother us, but it might be awkward for friends travelling together - our room didnt have a solid partition between the bathroom - it was glass so one person could see the other shower or in the hot tub.

Had a wonderful three night stay at Square Peg. The staff were so courteous and the breakfast was amazing. Located a short walk from Kandy City centre. Dinesh helped us with cab bookings and was very responsive. Enjoyed our first few days in Sri Lanka!

There wasn’t enough storage, only 6 hooks to hang clothes. We were travelling for over 2 weeks so we needed more space to have clothes out.

This property has a beautiful view of the city - very special. In fact a reason to book it alone. The height allows you to escape the hustle of Kandy and get a nice breeze too. The staff were super helpful but as the manager was away the chef was having to do everything, so we could tell he was a bit overwhelmed. We asked for extra towels but had to remind a couple of times, however we got them no problem in the end. The food was lovely and the room very clean and everything in working order. Would definitely come again!

The food, very disappointing after our 4 week tour of Sri Lanka, management requires you order supper by 5pm, we did and all dishes except one in mixed vegetable curry served almost cold and lacking in flavour compared to all other meals we experienced. Breakfast was no better, even the coffee is luke warm.

Although I was the one who booked and paid for the reservation the hotel staff ignored me and would only speak to my boyfriend. I don’t know if it was racism or sexism or both… but it was ridiculous.

it’s very pricy for what you get, it misses hospitality and comfort. a jacuzzi alone won’t do it, a warm welcome, a flower, a bathrobe, I have had more personal and luxurious experiences at lower priced accomodations. but great potential.

wifi doesn’t work in the rooms for dinner you have to order before 5PM, and we weren’t informed by the hotel before arriving to the hotel. however they were nice and prepared for us a good meal as everything was closed outside (national curfew)

Once arriving, the staff started to ask for payment and forbid me to enter the room. Then after asking them to kindly give me internet access, I noticed that my card was not accepted during the reservation. The payment had to be made ONLY through pay-pal. Only after I made the transaction, the staff gave me the room keys. Despite being close to city center, the way to get there is horrible. The place is noisy and the breakfast is below average.
