Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe couldn’t fault anything! The whole layout was beautiful, with the most amazing pool (longest in Sri Lanka I believe), views of the sea and turtles bobbing their heads up. The food, breakfast and drinks were very good. We had a lovely spacious bedroom. Kenny the manager was wonderful, so engaging and helpful throughout our stay and booked us a transfer to the airport. We absolutely loved Sri Sharavi and Mirissa and would return in a heartbeat! Thank you!

United KingdomLocation is incredible - right on the beach. Very close to Mirissa beach if you want some more excitement, and to fantastic restaurants (Zephyr in particular was great). Rooms fantastic, lovely food & cocktails in the hotel itself. Salt water pool was fab. Staff were generally lovely - organised an amazing snorkelling session for us where we got to swim with turtles.

United KingdomIt was just a shame that you couldn’t swim in the sea here due to the strong current. it looked so inviting! You have to get a tuk tuk to Marissa for the nearest safe beach to swim.
The property, the huge pool, the food, the view. Total relaxation.

United KingdomThe reception staff wouldn’t help us arrange a taxi for our journey back to the airport (unless we used their taxi service)
Amazing property. Exceptionally clean and the decor was beautiful. The location, right on the beach was stunning. We had a sea view room, which I would highly recommend when staying here. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice. The staff were cheerful and friendly.

United KingdomPerhaps the beach not being swimmable , and fact it’s far from much means if you do get restless and want to venture out, you can’t walk but there are tuk tuk Options. I found it strange couldn’t get any sort of food or drink after 10 or 10:30 etc, but these are small things as I enjoyed my stay just giving feedback. The tv is a bit pointless also with the netting in bed, you can’t really watch it as it’s quite far away. I also found the communal areas not ideal if wanting tea or coffee I prefer in my room not to have to go into a shared lounge area with other guests.
The pool is amazing, huge and great for laps, also with great view of sea. The staff at bar and generally across hotel are lovely and attentive, the rooms were nice and peaceful, mosquito net around bed which is helpful as the place is full of them. Nice big bathroom, food was good lots of options all day dining and decent breakfast. The seclusion is nice if this is something you are feeling like for a few days.

The staff were amazing, the food was incredible- we could have ordered the seafood plates again and again. Normally you are left alone but the staff were so friendly. One of the owners and the front of house staff Came to personally speak to us and took a genuine interest in where we were from. The villas are fantastic and the ocean signature suite was very special.

We stayed here for 5 nights has part of our honeymoon, flying from the Maldives so our expectations were high after visiting an amazing place. All I have to say is WOW!!! this place was stunning, from the moment we arrived until we left we were treated like king & queen and my little girl a princess. We couldn’t thank all staff enough for everything they did to make our stay so enjoyable. We didn’t want to leave neither did my little girl especially leaving the dog kinky. If your thinking of staying here I would highly recommend, would defiantly want to come back!

United KingdomAlmost perfect. The room could maybe benefit from a mini fridge or tea/coffee making facilities.
Overall this was one of the best hotels we've stayed at in Sri Lanka and the staff service really completed this experience. Our room was even nicer than we expected. The shower especially felt luxiours and the room was turned down twice a day which kept it spotless. The hotel was a great place for a romantic stay as it is secluded, with a quiet and beautiful beach. Food at the restaurant is served by the beachfront. We ate a couple of times in the evening and enjoyed it very much. Breakfast also was a treat, including good press coffee which can be hard to find. A special mention for the pool, which is much longer than typical and well maintained. The staff especially were wonderful and really made our stay feel special. Service was professional and very attentive yet the staff were still able to remain friendly. The hotel manger was helpful with any requests we had.

RussiaThe hotel is located away from the noisy life of Merissa, for those who need a secluded vacation in a beautiful place, empty beaches with palm trees and deep ocean. We really liked the 45 meter pool - we could continue our swimming training. Very stylish and beautiful territory, great garden with lotuses. Breakfasts and dinners overlooking the ocean.

United KingdomCould have done with some toilets by the pool - yes the villas are right there but bit of an effort to go up to the toilet if your room is on the first floor.
Prices in the resort were pretty cheap considering it’s far more up market than some of the other nearby hotels. Rooms were great and light, beds comfy, mosquito nets as well. Amazing view of what is pretty much a private beach, and given the small size of the hotel was always a sun lounger available. Oh and to top it off they let me check out late to tie in with my taxi to the airport.

United KingdomThe attentive staff - Ruwan, Sandun and Nishanta went out their way to make sure we had everything we needed for a relaxing holiday. The pool was lovely and perfect for taking a cooling dip - plus a great view of the sea. We really liked the separate villas and boutique feel of the hotel. Our room was very spacious and clean - the bathroom in particular was amazing. We would definitely recommend this hotel for a chilled escape in the sunshine.

Russiai believe it is not worth its price the first day there was a frog in the room then i faced the following situation - i put my clothes in laundry bag and signed the price list; after 2 days the waiter came to me with a new paoer (with higher prices) and asked to resign, mentioning that there was a mistake in previous paper. some food in restaurant was spicy and in order to get to Mirissa you need to hire tuk tuk, the drive is 10 minutes long
i liked the size of the room, we lived in suit, but we had nothing - no minibar, no cups, etc and my parents were in standard room which was on second floor, was simpler and smaller, but had all the above mentioned things i also liked that it was on the beach

SingaporeOverpriced for what you are paying for. When me and my partner arrived at the property, got checked in the room and we were so shocked at how we are being overcharged by a room three times more than we should be paying. We got upgraded to the Ocean Suite after 3 hours of waiting for a refund after all. Maybe it’s the standard around the south, overpriced but mediocre rooms.
Lovely staff and hospitality who looked after our needs. Please cherish them!

AustraliaFood and beverage staff leave a lot to be desired - 45 minutes for breakfast. Breakfast is included in every establishment; even in a the Suite at $550 per night at this place, it was extra and not great. Room More expensive than the Marriot by $100 per night - far inferior property to the Marriot which has direct beach and amazing food. Same price as Anantara Tangalle - no comparison whatsoever/ light years away in similitude. I disliked intensely this place and we left happily without a refund of 2 nights left. Would never recommend it. Only dud property in a 2 week holiday in a usually fabulous Sri Lanka.
Hotel is well built however poor amenities such as no mini bar. instant coffee in the room, food below par and in my case inedible. same with the cocktails. No direct beach access contrary to advertising, massive concrete wave break - very rough surf.
