How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing :) everything was perfect
The staff is very nice, they make sure everything is ok for their guests. We had a room without AC and they upgraded it with a room with AC free of charge! This was very very nice of them! The breakfast is very good. A welcoming and nice family, totally worth the stay here! The rooms are very clean and beautiful! The location is perfect, near the best beaches in town and a lot of restaurants are nearby. Totally recommend!

We loved the simple and stylish decor of Summer Time. The location was perfect for the beach, bars and restaurants. Breakfast was varied and plentiful and always delicious.

I missed a mirror in the room as well as some space to store the clothes in/on. But all in all, it was a good place to stay at!

Lack of air conditioning was the only notable downside. Very warm at night.

Would have liked some water in the room. The mosquito net was not very good as it was a bit small for the bed.
The owners were very nice, the breakfast was decent and pretty good with variety of different flavors. The room without the ac can get a bit hot, so beaware. The room with the ac was great. Location is nice, walkable to the beach. The room without the ac on the first floor might not be suitable for light sleepers. Very good big towels and had some basic washing essentials.

The toilet/bathroom was open-air
The owner was exceptionally kind and when I couldn’t withdraw cash, he allowed me to make a bank transfer. The room was very comfortable and clean.

Size of the room and missing space for storage. Also the rooms gets hot and a little wet quickly.
Location: perfect (5 minutes walk to Hiriketiya beach and 15 to Dickwella) Interior: Basic but very nice. Personnel: super friendly and always available for questions. Price: absolutely fair. Breakfast: delicious and great variety. Thank you, it’s been wonderful!

The hot water did not always work The laundry was really expensive (we payed 6times as much as we did in Ella or somewhere else)

The owner arranged my transfer to the next step of my journey with someone who was half an hour late, first off. When the guy finally arrives, he wasted time waiting for a second guy along the road, taking control of the vehicle and adding a little boy as an extra passenger: he was eventually left to a third guy along the way. Unbelievable! The breakfast was average. Super late check-in.
Big room with comfy bed, simply but nicely furnished. Clean and spacious bathroom, open in the air. Great modern shower, hot water. Perfect location: just nearby the beach and lots of cafes and restaurants. Cozy late check-out.

Every detail was perfect and thoughtful! The room was even better than pictured, the staff were helpful and the breakfast was plentiful. It was also a great location, just a few minutes walk to the beach. Highly recommend for your stay in Hiriketiya!

The friendliness of the people was wonderful. We dropped off our luggage earlier & it was safe there. Also, the rooms were very clean & the AC was great. Good value for price.

I'd appreciate some place to dry clothes outside. There's a spacious roof terrace, so adding a rack for clothing there would be great :)
Beautiful villa, great rooms and lovely owners. Everything is very clean with nice, minimalist design. Breakfasts are big and yummy! It's located about 3 minutes from the Hiriketiya beach and there's 2 restaurants within 30 seconds of walking distance. We came for a week but extended for 2 more.

Clean, modern and lovely rooms located in a beautiful garden. The beds were super comfortable. We loved the location, very close to the beach and restaurants. The staff was super friendly, helped us organizing anything we needed, for example massage or laundry service. The breakfast was very tasty. It was one of our best stays during our entire holiday in Sri Lanka and we were so sad to leave!

We had a great stay in the Summe Time Hiriketiya. The room was big and very nice. Also the Breakfast was really good. It was possible to rent a Scooter at the Hotel.

WiFi was a little slow some days but I think it was because of rain/storms
We had such a lovely stay at Summer Time. The rooms are just as pictured, modern, clean, with lovely interiors. The host was so helpful and kind in every aspect with laundry, scooter hire, tuk tuk / taxi booking and cleaned our rooms during our stay. We also had the most amazing Sri Lankan breakfast every morning, it was perfect. Plus hot shower ! Thank you for having us

You could feel the springs in the mattress, but despite that would recommend staying here!
We really enjoyed our stay. Hosts are very very friendly and helpful, they were available any time and asked if we needed anything multiple times! Location is perfect, very close to the beach. Also the rooms are very new, nice and clean. Minimalistic but very nicely designed and quite large. Breakfast is perfect, large, diverse and tasty!
