The lighting in the house isn't as bright as we are used to. But, it's quite common in Sri Lanka.

I think it's the best place to stay in nature. We enjoyed it! You can feel comfortable, safe and close to wild nature. Breakfast was good as well. You should try this simple local food. The host was extremely responsive and kind. Be ready, if you pay by card, bank commission isn't included in the price. It's quite a common rule in Sri Lanka. Don't consider it as a trick: )

We stayed in one of the tree house cabins and loved it! The place is simple but it has everything you need. It is located in a beautiful garden, right next to a lake. You can find all sorts of animals there. But the best part of our stay was the kindness of the host family. They went above and beyond to help us with everything we needed. They gave very helpful recommendations and even drove us to a hike early in the morning. Thank you for everything!

We really loved our stay here!! The cottage was so cute and comfortable, complete with cozy private patio to relax on. It really does feel like you’re away from it all on this property, with birds and monkeys playing around you. Delicious breakfast (we especially loved returning to enjoy it on our first morning after doing sunrise at Sigirya). The owner is so helpful and friendly, always asking if we needed anything and helping to arrange transport etc. I would love to return here some day but in the meantime I hope you enjoy it too!

everything was excellent! one drawback, there is no shampoo and shower gel. And also breakfast could be more on time ;) but these are just little things that you can easily cope with :)

Everything was excellent! Room was very clean, well equipped. Views are amazing, it’s in the quiet area next to the lake. Guys owning property are amazing- melas you feel very comfortable, super helpful, always willing to help. Typical Sri Lanka’s breakfast was brilliant! so tasty! I also got once dinner and now can regret that only once 😉 fully recommend!

Water pressure in the shower was weak

Extremely friendly staff who were incredibly welcoming, offering to pick us up from the station and arrange tours. Breakfast was delicious, served in a beautiful setting overlooking the garden. Large bedroom with air-conditioning, making our 2 night stay comfortable.

Good value for money. Room was comfortable enough but quite rustic. The owner was very friendly and organized transport for us and recommended somewhere to eat. Good breakfast which was our introduction to Sri Lankan food - very tasty. Short tuk tuk ride to the places you want to go to but also walkable to nearby bars and restaurants. Great to have the sound of the birds and small animals in the morning.

Beautiful location where you can just sit for hours and watch the various animals in the garden- beautiful birds, monkeys, mongoose... The garden itself is very beautiful. I was in heaven sitting and experiencing it all. The host was very helpful and friendly and available at all times for any questions we had and recommended us on great Safari and the village tour which was incredible for the cooking experience! I highly recommend this spot. Thank you!

Very happy with our stay, the rooms were comfortable and we had a big bed! Two fans in the room were more than enough to keep us nice and cool (we only used one the second night)! Lovely hosts who were very helpful and kind! WiFi was good, although we didn’t use it much! Helped us organise a taxi from Colombo airport too which was easy and straightforward! Highly recommend!

At a very quit location we had a clean and comfortable cottage with views over the lake and gardens. Paradise for birdlovers and a peaceful atmosphere. Breakfast is homemade and fresh served in a covered,shady spot in the garden. The host is kind and helpful in every manner. Nice service is that he can drop you of at any loocation with his tuktuk.

Everything was more then perfect.

We had the most wonderful three days in sungreen cottages. First of all the place is like a green paradise and you completely feel like you away from the busy life going on on the main street. The breakfast was everyday excellent and plenty with a great variety of local delicacies. The Host helped us organising the best possible Safari and also a scooter we could ride around the area on our own. Further more he gave us a great ride in his tuk tuk to Kandy where we stopped on numerous places (temple, Ayurvedic spice Plantage) and it was a great experience driving from rural Sigiriya to busy Kandy. We enjoyed it a lot. Please look no further because you won't find a better place with more genuine and friendly people to stay with in Sigiriya. Thank you so much for the wonderful time we had at your place!

The hotel is hosted by two brothers, they were two of the most kind people we have meet so far on our journey. They said that is hotel is there biggest dream come true and you can really feel that once you are there. The room was very clean and you have got everything provided to enjoy your stay. We also had breakfast and dinner there, both was very delicious and authentic and also made with lots of love. We would definitely come here again and wish our hosts all the best for their future!

Everything was perfect

This was our first stop in Sri Lanka and we absolutely loved our stay and only wish it was longer. We stayed 3 lovely nights with Pramoth and his family and they were so caring and welcoming. He even made my husbands birthday special by arranging a small cake ☺️ The food was home cooked and delicious and we could eat overlooking the lake and watching the wonderful birds, peacocks and monkeys. The rooms are surrounded by nature so it's very quiet and tranquil. Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Everything you need really. Pramoth also arranged transport and trips at a very reasonable price too. We can't wait to visit again :)

Beautiful tree house with a nice view on the swamp. You are close to places like the Lion Rock or the Cave temple but still in a relaxed and calm place in nature. The host is very kind and helpful to arrange anything. We really enjoyed the nice ambiance of Sungreen cottage!
