The room got very hot, sometimes even hotter than the outside. There is a big fan on the ceiling and also a little fan you can put in front of your bed, which makes sleeping ok. But AC would cost more I guess. There are also monkeys which go into your room if you let the doors open and aren’t there, so be careful. Unfortunately there are many dogs on the streets who bark and howl at night, so bring earplugs. Other than that it was a very nice place to stay at.

Super nice and chill accommodation located on a hill in Hiriketiya. The room was very spacious with lots of furniture to put and hang your clothes and other stuff. The bed was very spacious as well with a nice mosquito net. There is also a balcony and you’ve got two showers in the bathroom - one for cold water, one for warm water. I really liked that there is a kitchen to use with everything you need for cooking and a big fridge and freezer. The whole place (room, hallway, kitchen) was very clean, the host cleaned everyday (not the room though if you don’t want to due to privacy) and he was very kind and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay and could relax!Will definitely come back here next time.

The road around the whole property is rather busy and therefore, rather noisy, especially at night. The front door to the rooms upstairs is at the back of the house and there is a road right there…. The size of the rooms is exagerated and so is the existence of any livable balcony.

4 rooms in total so it was really quiet in this respect. The kitchen was handy, especially the large fridge which you are going to need since the whole area is ridiculously overpriced in terms of eating out.

Nice Place on a little hill. Short walk to the beach and many restaurants around. Very clean and nice balcony with lots of green around. English communicarion with the owner took some time but he was really friendly

We can highly recommend the accommodation. We spontaneously stayed two more nights. There is a large well-equipped kitchen where you can cook. The room and bathroom were clean and large. The high ceilings and furnishings made us feel very comfortable. The owners are super nice and helpful!

There's no place for such a price in Hiriketiya. 7 minutes from both Hiriketiya and Dickwella beaches to surf or swim. A fully equipped kitchen is perfect for cooking almost anything. If it's not fully booked (and it is most of the time), book a room now.

Wonderful hotel! Kind, considerate, welcoming hosts, comfortable, spacious, and spotlessly clean rooms, just a 10 minute walk from town or the sea, in a quiet area with restaurants nearby, and a beautiful view of the surrounding jungle. Highly recommend, and would love to stay again!

This is the best place in Hiriketiya :-) It’s very calm, the view is great and the rooms are super beautiful (everything is new). The owner is very nice and helpful. Also it is possible to get some delicious local food here. I feel very welcome at Sunhill Rest and would recommend it to everyone!

I Stayed In 3 places in this area, SunHill had the biggest and brightest rooms. Be located on top of the hill also gives the room a nice breeze so the room feels cool.

The kitchen wasn’t really “fully stocked” (one tiny fry pan, difficult to use stove top), but decent enough to cook an egg or some two minute noodles. Staff were lovely, but their English wasn’t great and we had to ask them for a few things when we first arrived which should have been set up in the room (soap, towels). There was a pack of dogs that had a barking party in the middle of the night 3 of the 4 nights we were there.

Pretty and large rooms with high vaulted ceilings, and nice view slightly up a hill over the trees to watch the sky change colours during sunset. Good location, under ten minute walk to the beach down a quiet backstreet. The best wifi we’ve experienced in Sri Lanka! It’s a small property so we had it to ourselves.
