No aircon, but quite a nice breeze and fan. Light shines in from the other room. Need to be warned.

A lovely stay, the very helpful owner welcomed us on the beach it was like arriving on a small island, great unpoilt beach and stunning views from that corner! Restaurant on the side is high up with amazing views for breakfast. Such a peaceful place! Need tuk tuk, taxi or walk to get bus to other places. Banana café and firefly café are also great to laze around!

You should keep in mind that both rooms are partly open at the roof/ceiling so that firstly mosquitos and other insects can easily enter and secondly you can clearly hear the other guests. If you don't mind you will be more than happy to meet Darshani and her lovely family.

Darshani is a wonderful host. She offers a very authentic place for a reasonable price with a huge terrace that has a stunning view on the wonderful Talalla beach. The rooms are small but equipped with everything you need. Her brother is also very kind and provides excellent breakfast and dinner. He offers comfortable rooms too. Thank you Darshani and Krishanta for your great hospitality and flexibility. We will definitely come back.

The fact that the beautiful beach was closed for swimming, probably because of strong winds or so (maybe something that happens more often in the low season, when we were there). But we made a day trip to the beach in nearby Mirissa, where we could swim. So in the end it was fine.

The view from the hotel and from the treetop restaurant. Indeed, a wonder view! One of the best views you find anywhere in the country. The host was also very helpful arranging a car, TukTuk etc..

The best place to stay in Talalla! As it states, the view is great. The sea can be heard in your room, so lovely. There is an outdoor area to sit or lie in the hammock. Darshani was so helpful & kind &, fun company too. Breakfast was excellent. Its also right next to a yoga retreat, so you can join them for classes, if that's your thing.

Nothing really. But if you are travelling in wet season probably not the best beach to visit.

Our lovely, kind and always smiling hostess made our stay from the moment she welcomed us and said she'd upgraded us to the twin room. The view was superb from the big balcony, as it was from her brother's lovely Treetop restaurant next door where we had our delicious included breakfasts (alternating Sri Lankan and western). Location ideal at this largely untouched beach - sheltered best swimming end of the beach with a short walk to a few restaurant alternatives (Happy Banana is recommended) and a friendly minimarket (whose ginger cat had been bitten by a monkey so they called out a vet!) Room was spacious, clean and had basic amenities. The bed was comfortable. When one light stopped working the hostess immediately called an electrician although we were checking out. Such a sweet lady making a start with her own business!

Darshani is an excellent host , warm , friendly and very helpful. The room is clean and large with everything you need , fan and mosquito net provided but net could be positioned better to ensure full coverage . Room is located in an excellent position , amazing view of the beautiful beach ,wonderful to wake up to the sound of the sea. I would definitely recommend booking , great value for money .

We stayed for 7 nights and had an amazing time here. :) You can see the ocean from the bed and watch the sunrise from the balcony. The family is wonderful and helps you out with everything. Also the breakfast, which you can have between 8-10 in the restaurant of her brother, was super good and huge. There are also a couple of good restaurants nearby. As they are just started it is pretty basic, so no ac but you have a fin. If you are looking for a nice and calm nature place with a lovely family and a beautiful view it's the best place to be. :) :)

Signage isn’t great to find the property - granted we arrived in the dark, but google maps shows it in a very different location to where it actually is. But some more signs and a sign outside the property itself would really help. We also didn’t have a great experience at the restaurant which is owned by the hosts brother - we went for dinner and the service wasn’t great and the food was pretty average so wouldn’t recommend there for dinner. Although the breakfast was okay it was still a weird service.

The view of the beach from the balcony was amazing and to have the balcony itself was so lovely for mornings and evenings. It was also really close to the beach so easy to go back and forth to.

There was no ceiling fan in the room - only a pedestal fan. Was quite unpleasant inside. There was only one plug point inside the room, which meant that charging your devices also meant keeping the pedestal fan switched on (when it was not needed). This also meant an electric mosquito repellant device could not be accommodated. Getting my luggage in and out was quite daunting. The road to the property is narrow (don't think a car can make it) and moreover it got washed out due to the rain. The host helped a bit but clearly this area needs to be fixed. There was no provision to make tea or coffee. No electric kettle either. Fortunately the restaurant at Talalla retreat nearby opens at 6AM and served Sri Lankan Coffee at a reasonable price of USD 2. The property offers some great views but unless some investments are made, it will not be value for money.

Tallala beach is very beautiful and offers a fair degree of seclusion to visitors. The host was pleasing and offered whatever help was requested of her.
