How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Great place to be in Talalla. I stayed one week. Comfortable room. AC and WIFI working good. Yoga in garden. Great breakfast, all according to my wishes. And the host, Primal, is the most friendly and caring guy you can imagine.

The rooms are a little dated and the matrass/pillows could have been more comfortable. Also the kitchen is nice, but could use some more pans and stuff.
The host is super friendly and will help you with everything to ensure a pleasant stay. We absolutely loved the breakfast. It was even more than we could eat, very delicious and also different each of the 3 days we stayed. The location is quiet and very near to the beach. Spacious rooms and a big bathroom. There's also a kitchen you can use for small meals. Oh and the wifi was pretty good as well.

Primal could not have been more kind and helpful during my stay here - great communication prior to arrival, a message every day touched in for breakfast timings, helping me out with getting to places, couldn’t fault him! The room and bathroom were spacious and met all my needs and the beach is only a 2 minute walk away. Highly recommend Primal also owns the restaurant Juices and Curry - delicious food and worth going during your stay

We had a fantastic stay at the beach resort- the host was amazing so hospitable and will do anything he can to help you. His restaurant is well worth visiting it is the best Sri Lankan food we have had on our trip so far. Don’t look further than this.

I liked everything, this place is highly recommended. Primal the Manager was fantastic, he made me feel like home. If you want a comfortable laid back place and relax, this is the place to go. I can't recommend this place highly enough. The beach is just around the corner.

Nice clean room with own small terrace, ac and big bed to sleep in. The owners were welcoming and friendly. We also had dinner at their restaurant and the food was really good. No complaints whatsoever :)

Some days the breakfast wasnt very good.
The owner was very nice and friendly, very good value for money, family home, strong AC, 5 minutes walk to the beach.

Loved our stay here. Talalla is a beautiful quiet beach, such a nice change from the busier towns. The accomodation had big rooms, a nice bathroom and the owner is so nice and helpful. Breakfast was also delicious! Would recommend staying here :)

No hot water running shower but as was so hot the cool shower was nice.
Super close to Talalla beach, I was looking for some chill time after surfing a lot. The host was very friendly and helpful. Also went to dinner at their restaurant and probably has the best Sri Lankan curry of my trip. Room was clean and all the amenities you need.

All was perfect!
We had a great time! The room has good size and is very comfortable. The host and his family is super nice and kind, taking a good care of their visitors. They prepare delusions breakfast and you can also pop in their curry restaurant nearby. If you prefer to be independent, you can use a small kitchen that has everything you need! Definitely would recommend this place :-)

What really lovely owners. We felt really welcome, with tea and coffee. They did everything to let us feel like home. Breakfast in the morning was local and super good. The owners has an own restaurant as well, where we ate the best rice and curry! Highly recommend!

The room smelled a bit like cigarettes at night, but not to the host fault
The host received us with coffee and biscuits. He was friendly, in a way that made me and my friend(both female) comfortable and at ease. It was one of the most clean rooms we've slept in during our trip to Sri Lanka- on a tight budget. It was right near the beach which is a gem still to be discovered. The breakfast was also nice, enough to fill us up. Overall a pretty good stay. Good parking for our tuktuk as well :)

I received a lovely warm welcome from the owner after a long day of traveling and a hot cup of delicious tea with a snack. And a hearty breakfast the next day as well as assistance to get to my meeting on time. The village is beautiful and quiet and the facilities very comfortable and excellent value for money! Would definitely recommend this accomodation to anyone traveling to the area. Top notch and the service is above and beyond
