Anjalo was the perfect host, so friendly and helpful and made us feel like we were at home. The property is so well decorated with the balcony being a lovely living space. It was only us there so we had the whole space to our selves and the room was equally as nice. Just lovely touches everywhere.

We love the jungle setting that is just 10mins walk to the town. The sound of nature surrounds the property. The place is so well designed and decorated that it's more like a upmarket boutique hotel than a homestay. There are even 2 indoor swings in the common lounge. The provision of a kettle and a fridge in the common lounge is very thoughtful. The host Angelo was very friendly, helpful and accommodating.

The accommodation was very nice, we felt relaxed and Angelo is a great host. We absolutely recommend the Tantra Ella Lodge and we would booked it again If we would visit Ella in the future.

What a lovely host Anjelo is. Lovely to chat to and he had lots of good advice. The accommodation is spotless and has lots of added touches that make this an extremely relaxing and comfortable stay. Tantra Ella Lodge is located an easy walk from Ella centre but you feel like you're out in the jungle away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Highly recommended for a stay in Ella.

The shower temperature was difficult to tune, but this was a minor thing as cold showers are refreshing in the Sri Lankan heat. Everything else was great.

Anjalo was a fantastic and attentive host. He was very welcoming with a cup of tea on arrival. He provided great recommendations on local restaurants, scooter hire and laundry service. The room was lovely with a huge bed, lovely en-suite and beautiful treetop views of the surrounding forests. We liked the location which was a good distance from Ella main road - far enough away to be quiet and peaceful, but close enough that you could walk to the main road. Torch recommended! We brought a torch, but Anjalo even provided one. Another example of what an attentive host he is. The Sri Lankan breakfast was delicious and servings were very generous, setting us up well for exploring waterfalls and mountain hikes.

This is the perfect stay if you want to enjoy the nature of Sri Lanka. There are so many birds, squirrels, fireflies and other wildlife you can watch from the balcony. We loved it!

Everything was perfect.

The reviews were so overly positive that I initially thought they're fake left by fellow tantrists / yogists, but Tantra Ella Lodge is actually that nice to stay at. It's a new hotel with a lovely lobby you can chill at. The owner is super friendly, caring and professional. The breakfast is amazing and for the first time we encountered "proper" Westerner bed linen. Thank you Anjalo!

Three things are outstanding about this accommodation: The accommodation itself, the host, and the location. The rooms are bright and newly furnished. My bed was very comfortable and I had everything I needed (from a hairdryer to a flashlight, everything was there). The terrace is outstanding. You can watch the birds from there. The location is very quiet yet central. The train station is just a few meters away. I enjoyed not being in the middle of the hustle and bustle and being in the center within a 5-minute walk. Last but not least - Angelo is an incredibly attentive host. He was always reachable and took care of all concerns (from 'a kettle would be great' to researching where I could get the best massage in Ella). Thank you, Angelo, it was a fantastic stay!

Angelo was supernice and friendly. The location was perfect: own peace but walkable distance to Ella city center and train station. Breakfast was amazing and rooms cozy, we really enjoyed our stay.

Lodge is located walking distance from Ella center, however still magically hidden between the trees. I enjoyed much mornings and evenings accompanying of birds and squirrels! And fireflies in the night! Fantastic hospitality experience. Best coconut roti I ate in Sri Lanka. Anju is a great host! 🙏

The place is amazing! Feels like a 5-star hotel but with love approach. The host pays attention to the small details: the towels are soft and fresh, there are roses in different places as welcoming, arrival drinks with a cake. I felt in love with the place. The terrace is also so nice. I could observe the squirrels and some special Sri Lanka bird. The furniture is modern and stylish. It is very near to the center and bus station. I will stay there next time when I am in Ella. Amazing hospitality.

Our host Anjelo was so sweet, helpful and attentive. My boyfriend had an infection in his foot, and Anjelo boiled hot water for him every morning, so he could clean his wounds. The lodge itself is pure magic, situated within walking distance from Ella, but in a very quiet area where all you hear is exotic birds, frogs and squirrels. You also see light bugs! It’s like living in the middle of the jungle. Anjelo lights incense every morning, so there is always this amazing, spiritual smell. Thank you Anjelo for a wonderful stay! We will be back :-)

Great location, 10 min. walk from the centre but, but in a very quiet area next to the jungle. Birds in front of your window, squirls jumping from tree to tree, in the evening fireflies. All feels new, clean and modern. The owner is supernice, easy going and really wants to take care of your needs.

All! For us it was the best place in Sri Lanka! Only opened a few months ago. The room was very clean and beautiful, it had a large mosquito net, fresh flowers in the room, a set of cosmetics, water (plus delicious tap water!) - every detail was taken care of. The loggia for relaxation was only for us and wonderful jungle behind- it stole our hearts. The owner always helped us, he picked us from the station, welcomed with tea and cake, lit incense and talked to us about the possibilities of spending time in Ella. He was available to us every time. Moreover, we had incredibly delicious Sri Lankan breakfast (the owner's mother is a great cook!) huge portion, beautifully and cleanly served - we remember them to this day. It's hard to put into words how we felt at Tantra. Thank you and we dream of coming back on future! ❤️

Angelo was such an amazing and sweet host! Really recommend staying here. He went out of his way to make us comfortable, gave us tips and booked tuktuks or rides for us. The place is great, it really felt like you were in Bali, especially with the nature surrounding it. Location was great, close to the center but not in all of the noise. The room was spacious, the bed with musquito net was comfortable and the bathroom was great with hot water. The water pressure was a bit low, but the surroundings and Angelo really made up for that. Angelo, thanks again for a great stay!😊

I like everything about Tantra Lodge, everything was perfect as I saw online. It is a beautiful little oasis surrounded by trees full of wonderful wildlife. This place is also only a very short walk from Ella town, it is convenient for restaurants. Supermarket, shops and all the local must see attractions such as “9 Arches Bridge’ and ‘Little Adams Peak’ etc and many stunning hikes. It was so central here, I walked everywhere. My host Anjalo was the kindest, most thoughtful and best host in Ella, he went above & beyond to make sure I had a comfortable stay. He had much information to share and was always available when I needed him. My room was cosy, bright and modern, with a big & very comfortable bed, I had lovely private bathroom and shower. It was super clean and tidy. I also had access to a gorgeous & peaceful balcony space outside my room, where I often took rest and read or wrote. I loved everything about this homestay, it was home away from home.

Extraordinary host! He was so polite, friendly and welcoming and always asked us if he can come upstairs. He brought us tea and delicious biscuits! The room was so clean, comfortable and nice decorated! We spent a great time on the terrace. It has a great view and every day we could observe different kinds of birds and other animals. The town centre is not far but it is very quiet and peaceful at the lodge. We can really recommend this lodge and we were so happy to stay here! Thank you so much for everything! One day we want to come back!

Angelo is a superb host. I really think this place should charge you more than they do right now. I didnt expect much before i arrive but it was a super clean room, full of sound of nature at night. Very nice balcony. Angelo was there at 4:45 am to bid a farewell and he was an exceptional host from the beginning. If you are travelling with a budget, dont even think twice and book Tantra Ella Lodge.
