My only small comment, more a suggestion, is to improve the quality of the mattress. I cannot say that was uncomfortable, but was the only item not aligned with the level of the rest. I don't consider this a negative point since was anyway a good quality one, but is just a small suggestion to align the quality wit the rest of the service.

Perfect place for a relaxing vacation. The design of the hotel is stunning, staff very friendly and helpful, spoiled us during all our stay. We enjoyed our time so much the time spent at Villa Thamburu and we thought to expend few more days but we had work duty and was not possible. The suite Pedro, our accommodation, was extremely comfortable and perfect for a romantic time! Food was good and hotel very clean. The public beach outside is beautiful but not suitable for swimming however we enjoyed our lazy chill in the hotel beach and pool.

If you like heading out in the evenings, there aren't many options that are walking distance. The hotel does offer a free tuk-tuk service to other establishments, so this wasn't an issue for us.

If you're looking for a hotel Sri Lanka for some rest and relaxation, Villa Thamburu is ideal! The location is great offering easy access to a lovely, quiet beach. The staff great too. All were incredibly polite, professional, and always willing to go the extra mile for us. The food was also a highlight. I can't imagine anywhere else in Bentota could match it. The hotel itself was beautiful too!

Honestly nothing. If you are looking for a luxury beach break in Sri Lanka then look no further.

Our stay at Villa Thamburu was absolutely perfect. The villa is absolutely beautiful and the facilities / rooms are fantastic. The staff are the biggest asset - they were so attentive and made our stay really special by always going above and beyond for us. The restaurant is also brilliant and we particularly loved the garden and pool areas. It feels really private and luxurious so we could not ask for more.

Fabulous location right on the beach, property beautifully maintained staff highly attentive throughout our stay. Food was amazing, a good selection of wine and cocktails available for pre dinner drinks. Having lived in Sri Lanka for the last 13 years we have stayed in a lot of properties and hotels across the island but Villa Thamburu is certainly up there with the very best.

Its a gorgeous hotel, with a tasteful interior, comfortable beds, delicious food and attentive staff. Villa is very quiet, rooms are soundproofed, which makes it feel like you are at a private resort at times.

Unfortunately we found the mosquitos to be a little out of control once the sun went down in the on-site restaurant. The food was lovely but the mosquito made dining a little hard down there - I wish the restaurant could be inclosed at night as we would have happily eaten there overnight. Hoping this is just a seasonal thing and not a persistent problem.

We had such a lovely stay at Villa Thamburu. The whole premise is just amazing. Very boutique but everything was 5 star. A lot of thought has gone into create such a beautiful sanctuary. The little touches - like locally made Barefoot linen robes etc really added to the 'premium' feel of the place. The staff went out of their way to accomodate us - even tracking my daughter down a boogie board so she could have fun on the beach. The breakfasts were amazing - and the quality of the food to die for. Can't wait to make it back - absolutely 5 (if not 6 stay) boutique accomodation on a stunning beach.

Very hard to fault anything but if hard pressed to point anything out I would say that while most of the food served was great, it was not a stand out as everything else (I only say that because you can get equally incredible food in less upmarket places in Sri Lanka)

Great new place on the beach, everything amazingly clean and in good taste. Staff were all incredibly nice and the service was very personalised, we were always made feel like our experience was the most important thing for the hotel.

New, exceptionally stylish property that was celebrating its 1 year anniversary while we stayed…we got a delicious piece of birthday cake! The location is excellent with direct access to a nice beach (which has a few restaurants and bars within walking distance) and easy reach of a turtle sanctuary definitely worth visiting, as well as a great beach bar called Waves a short Tuk Tuk ride away. You have the choice of cooling down in the ocean or in the hotel’s exquisite pool and, as is typical throughout Sri Lanka, it’s the lovely people who make a place special and this hotel is no exception. Choice of Western or Sri Lankan breakfast, both of which were plentiful. You won’t be disappointed if you book to stay at this hotel. We were sorry to leave.

We had a wonderful stay! The villa is beautifully designed and in a quiet location on an amazing stretch of beach. The staff were lovely and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The deluxe room was great and the food (lunch & dinner) were so tasty that we did not go anywhere else during our 4-night stay. We will come again and recommend to all our friends!

Everything! The resort is superb, everything looks like in the pictures. The design of the villa is amazing, everything is very clean and the staff is extremely polite, helpful and professional. Shoutout to everyone working at the resort, they really went out of their way to give us an amazing time. Also, the food at the restaurant is amazing! We can recommend the resort without hesitation!
