Perfectly located for a visit to the national park. The elephant transit center is within 2 min walking distance. Dinner and breakfast was really tasty. Janaka was the most care taking & attentive host ever - organized the safari as well as taxi transit from Ella and to the south coast; even helped us with booking the Ella train ride tickets beforehand. They’re expanding the facilities right now with a restaurant for cocking classes as well as a pool which sounds like a great addition to the already lovely property!

Very cute place with only two rooms, but plans to expand. The owner is extremely attentive and does his best to please you. The rooms are rustic chic.

The warm welcome and style of the property, great accommodation everything you could need , plenty of towels, toiletries, coffee and tea . The host is so helpful and our meal the first night cooked by his wife was delicious and packed breakfast for safari was perfect.The safari arrange by host was perfect. Also nearby a great place to visit is the garlic restaurant,had some great food in a fab location.

You can really see how deeply Janaka cares for the place. There is so much love to detail and exquisite designs. The food cooked by his mom and wife was one of the best curries we had in sri lanka. Janaka also booked a safari for us and we were so happy about our guide. It was very helpful that you could pay for everything through an online link. Definitely recommend.

One night stop over to go the elephant transit home and fabulous host is Janka. Great food, breakfast and 5 minute walk too the elephants feeding. The place is so nice and an oasis. The food was great and he organised our travel from Ella and then onto Galle at a really good cost. Great place for a stop over to see the elephants or even a second night for a safari, in which case just ask Janka to organise. Really interesting place to stay, like glamping but with A/C.

I don't even know where to begin. This was the best stay we had in Sri Lanka by far. The room was spacious, clean and quiet where I had my best sleep. The room had wonderful extras that higher categories accommodations in Sri Lanka didn't have: fridge, boiler, desks, shampoos, body lotion, yoga mats, board games etc. The location is so calming and Janaka was the perfect host - a true professional! We were welcomed with cold king coconut water and had the most delicious dinner served in such an elegant and romantic setting. Breakfast too was so rich and delicious. Janaka organized a safari to Udawalawe for us with Leel who was the nicest person ever. Such a calming personality, such perfect english and highly knowledgable. We loved our safari with him! If you can request Leel for your Safaris- you will not regret it. In February they hope to open the restaurant to external guests and I wish them the best

I highly recommend this place. It is located next to the Elephant 🐘 sanctuary and just few kilometres from the National Park of Udawalawe. The apartment was very spacious - it consists of 2 separated areas (living room + bedroom). We got a welcomed drink 🥥 and tiny gift when we were leaving. The accommodation was fully equipped.

A small oasis in the centre of Udawalawe. Janaka was really attentive and helpful in making the most of our time in Sri Lanka, booking a fabulous safari for us and ensuring we caught the afternoon feeding time at the neighbouring elephant transit home. Beautifully presented food in peaceful surroundings. The bedroom and private living space were equally nice, with a great attention to detail. We look forward to seeing how your plans for the site progress.

Elephant next door is a true recommendation. Small gem right next to Udalawe Nationalpark. Very cute design, you see Janaka the owner put a lot of heart and soul into this place. He is nothing but friendly and helpful. He organizes everything you need and in his little own restaurant he is offering amazing local food for his guests. Go for early morning safari with Leel and you will be the first to enter the park, see Elephants and enjoy the morning in nature when the park awakes around you. The room has AC and ceiling fan, hot shower water, moskito net (which we actually didn’t need) and is clean. Cute front room serves as a kind of living room and outside patio with a nice place to sit, free games and yoga mats! Elephant Transit home and Restaurants in walking distance. Would always go there again when staying in Sri Lanka! Price-value is top! 10 out of 10.
