The lobby and breakfast area are not air-conditioned. Which can be uncomfortable for some people, given how hot and humid Galle can be. Travellers bringing small kids need to take extra precaution. Kid-friendly railings are not present in some areas of the property, and there are some items on display with 'do not touch' warnings. But I guess you should expect this if you are staying in a historical building.

This hotel is truly a gem for history lovers. Filled with ornate objects, colonial era furniture, four poster beds, creaky wooden floors, the works! It has been masterfully restored. And yet it contains all the modern day comforts. Service was top notch. No complaints at all. Breakfast was a highlight- beautiful presented and filled us up until the afternoon.

The hot breakfast could have been a little bigger, especially if you don’t eat pastry’s which are also provided. Also, only a little niggle, but the antique cupboard door wouldn’t stay shut in our bathroom. An easy fix. Other than that, everything else was wonderful.

Sensational location and the interior is stunning. All the staff are welcoming and friendly. It felt like I was staying in a luxurious home instead of a hotel. We stayed upstairs in apartment 1 with the shared common lounge and it was lovely and quiet. I particularly loved the bed being turned down and chocolates provided after returning to our “apartment” post dinner.

Stayed in the loft suite where the toilet was downstairs in the lounge area. The stairs and floorboards were very creaky, which, although only to be expected in an old property, made for broken sleep if one person decided to visit the loo in the night.

Decided to spend 1 night here when our previous hotel couldn't accommodate us for our final night. Great location inside the Fort and surprisingly quiet too. Only a few rooms so never felt busy. Small pool which was nice to cool down in. Breakfast all cooked to order.

A super charming boutique hotel with one of the coolest bars in Galle. Wonderful service and food. It was a great stay in a great location to explore Galle Fort. Would highly recommend.

The hotel’s amenities and interior reflect the 17th-century Dutch style. We had a duplex room with wide windows reminiscent of those in Amsterdam. If you want to travel back in time and experience the spirit of the 17th century, I highly recommend this hotel.

Food wasn’t that great and drinks at the bar were just ok. I ended up the the Fort Bazaar bar most nights which had a splendid bartender and amazing drinks. Also the set menu at breakfast was a bit of a dampener. If you wanted eggs you couldn’t have pancakes. And vice versa. Otherwise no real issues. Service was great at breakfast.

Gorgeous property. Couldn’t find any faults. Loved my stay there. Wish I could have stayed longer. It’s a paradise right smack in the middle of the fort area. So convenient.

Everything about this hotel was splendid ….location room food staff and management. Had a very relaxing time staying 16 nights here with excellent service from everyone, George and his team kept our rooms pristine cleaning them twice a day. The chef Saneda and his team presented us with extremely tasty dishes which were served by the super waitress and waiters ….Wow! what a service we received from them ….they couldn’t do enough for us. Management made sure our stay was as comfortable as could be also efficiently organising trips etc. for us. To Kareesha well done…sure you’ll go onto a great future.
