The roads were deteriorated so it was to long for us to drive to Horton Plains or Bakers Bend from Belihuloya.

We stayed in the Mountain View room which has a balcony view of mountain and is over the river. We saw giant squirrels and good birdlife- grey horn bill, 3 types of barbets, etc from our room. They have a free trip to the waterfall - we jumped in for a swim from the rock ledge which was exciting and a guided village, cave- temple walk. The staff were very helpful and made the stay, especially Duminda and Chinthka. The food was terrific jacuzzi was great. Swimming in the river was stunning.

We LOVED staying at the Glenrock. Best hotel I have ever stayed at, the location is a dream and we loved the natural pool and swimming in the river. We stayed in a river cabana and the room was lovely. Visited by monkeys in the morning. All the food we had was delicious. The staff were also great.

Incredible nature filled eco paradise! Imresh and his team go above and beyond to make you feel special and welcome! This property is hidden away in the heart of nature and as a result you are surrounded by natures beauty! Birds, monkeys, butterflies and more, whilst still having the experience of a luxury hotel! The day trips are fun and the staff were exceptional!

This is a real gem! Felt really spoiled by the very attentive staff. Great food and fabulous room. The perfect place to absorb yourself in nature with a touch of luxury. As a bit of a twitcher, this is incredible. Ticked of a number of rear sightings. Loved the morning visit of the giant squirrel coming for his breakfast. Will definitely be back.

For nature lovers Sri Lanka is a paradise, this hotel provides just that exposure to nature and provided exceptional service to their customers to enjoy pristine nature in a traditional village in Sri Lanka which is not common in many parts of Sri Lanka. Hotel is surrounded by paddy fields (rice cultivation) and mountain range with ample water streams and medium-size water falls; we were exposed to sounds of water and birds during the entire stay and no sounds of people or street. Hotel is located in an exceptionally calm place; good for metal relaxation, and meditation. Hotel staff exceeded our expectations and provided local tours to experience village life and hiking in the mountains to learn fauna and water falls around the village. Hotel staff is exceptional in cooking traditional Sri Lankan or western food, kudos to the entire staff, manager and kitchen staff. This is one of the few places in Sri Lanka that we felt home sickness when we checkout. We will be back to this unique picturesque place in Sri Lanka in our future visits.

The Glenrock was an amazing experience. The location and environment were idyllic with mountains around it and an ever flowing river on the periphery. We spotted large billed birds in the trees, a mongoose, chipmunks and a giant squirrel who visited every morning for bananas. The rooms were large and equipped with all you needed, the bed was very comfortable and WiFi worked in all the rooms. The staff were amazing always on hand to help delivering ice, drinks and food to our rooms. The breakfasts were out of this world so tasty and so substantial. Dinner in the hotel dining area was so well managed it felt like a fine dining experience with drinks topped up, refills of food and attention to all the details. Compliments to the chefs the food was outstanding. We were taken to visit the waterfalls and the staff were very attentive insuring our safety at all times. The river in the grounds of the hotel provided us with such a giggle whilst we had "fish therapy", tiny fish nibbling your feet leaving them smooth and refreshed. We loved our stay here and would like to thank Iresh, Thushara, Duminda and the chefs. We would highly recommend you indulge in this experience

The location and the rooms were amazing!! we could see many different animals from the terrace. But especially the team of Glenrock is AMAZING!! Such caring, kind and friendly people who make it an absolute pleasure to spend time at Glenrock. Thank you for everything!! Team will pick you up from parking lot nearby as the final piece of the road requires 4x4 transport.

The place is quite remote, not easy to access with any vehicle, but that gave it also a special twist. We were traveling as a couple in Sri Lanka for two weeks and the care at Glenrock was the best, the service was just exceptional. Also the food was extremely tasty. It is a nice place to see local nature wonders and enjoy the amazing views. Staff at Glenrock know a few amazing places around and they are happy to give an excursion with guidance.

Meals were exceptional and staff was super friendly. Room was comfortable and warm. Mountain view is breathtaking . They arranged a tuk tuk ride to nearby waterfall for free.Our stay at glenrock was beyond my expectations. 🤗

There were water issues, either there was no hot water or no pressure. The room wasn’t the most clean with quite a lot of bugs and dust. The location - it was beautiful, but hard to get to and there wasn’t a lot to do there without driving quite a bit. The overall room & things inside were dated. The bed sheets were not super clean either (blood stain for example). Really disappointing.

The staff, but not the management. They were there when we were visiting but nobody said hello, it was just one person the whole time (serving food, guiding etc). Ashanka was amazing and made the trip for us. he went above and beyond on many occasions, was full of smiles & always there to help or guide in the most genuine way. Without him the hotel really is not great. Views however are great.
