Lacks a bar, and perhaps cutting back trees near pool to facilitate the sun for longer

The staff are fabulous and they really look after you. Beautiful location surrounded by forest so great for monkeys and birds etc . Food good, not really a bar but they have beer and will order in your requirements. We have stayed twice now and will go back again.

the water in our shower was either burning hot or ice cold! the staff was super nice but could not really fix the issue during our 3 day stay. we were offered to use the shower in a different room though!

Not the nicest pool we had in Sri Lanka. Location a bit tricky for getting back and forth to the beaches and things but tuk tuks help with that. Staff kept asking for reviews (that's a bit of a turn off!)

This is a nice hotel with great views of the hills behind Unawatuna. It's located in a quiet area away from the main beaches, which is nice. The staff are helpful and made us a lovely Sri Lankan breakfast. Rooms are spacious and air con works well.

Ocean front, gorgeous pool areas, beautiful bar and restaurant, excellent service with historic, very well appointed rooms. The only thing I can think here is that people are trying to keep this resort a secret. we stayed in an ocean front room (more of a junior suite), that was very large, beautifully appointed, very comfortable bed. Two large screen TVs. More than everything you could want in a hotel on the National Historic register

On our last day there was a very loud party in a property next to the hotel, where the base was so loud our room shook for 8 hours! It was impossible to be in there. The staff tried to ask them to turn it down to be fair, but they refused. This ruined our stay somewhat but I guess we were just unlucky.

We didn'tSuperb atmosphere, the best place to hide but still close to Unawatuna and Galle if you want to go out. Highly recommended! Unfortunately we didn't have the chance to try the dishes from the menu but the breakfast was excellent. The staff is very kind and helpful.

We spent the last 4 nights of our honeymoon here, and it was absolute perfection! The place has very stylish architecture and is surrounded by beautiful nature. The room was spacious and comfortable, and had a big balcony with nice views of the pool and the hills behind. The pool was big and clean and such a dreamy place to relax. But what made this place and our stay even more perfect was the staff ❤️ They were always available, kind and helpful. They helped me arrange a surprise for my wife: a beautiful and delicious candlelight diner on the room's balcony, with extra candles inside the room and flower arrangements on the bed. Every single part of the hotel gets a 10/10 for cleanliness as well And last but not least, the breakfast was so delicious, and you could really tell it was made with love!

Issue with one room, had to switch rooms twice and service was slow, a bit of an inconvenience on Christmas Day. WiFi was unreliable at times.

Lovely pool area. Decor was very nice. Good shower, mini fridge was well stocked and reasonable. Staff ordered us tuk tuks.

Lovely hotel in a very peaceful location.The staff were fantastic with a special mention to Palitha who is responsible for the day to day running of the hotel ,he was such a kind lovely man who worked so hard to make our stay perfect. Chef was very good ,making some tasty food . We enjoyed our stay so much ,thank you for making it perfect.

An amazing hotel with wonderful staff, each of whom extended such kindness, generosity and consideration. I can't recommend Horizon Hill Top Villas more highly, the room was gorgeous with a vaulted white-painted roof, fab aircon, a lovely colonial four poster bed with brass fittings, mosquito netting, a stunning outdoor bathroom, and a spacious veranda. Food's delicious (try the jumbo prawn with rice and salad and king coconut drink!), the pool's fab, and the hotel's excellent value and well situated for Galle Fort and the Japanese Peace Pagoda. Cross the railway line and head up a steep slope to find this little gem.

The complex is slightly unkept, if you expect luxury, don't. Rooms are not well isolated and you can find there lizards, cockroaches and even spiders.

The complex is big and there is everything. Chilling by the pool is very comfortable, there are comfortable sunbeds, umbrellas, you will get towels. There is decent restaurant and very friendly stuff is super kind and nice (despite they doesn't speak English very well). We highly recommend Jumbo Prawn, if you go there, you must try it!

The distance / hill it's on is quite difficult. Not every tuk tuk driver will go up it etc. Dalawella beach is nearby so actually the location for there is walkable and not too bad, but for the main town of Unawatuna we felt a bit isolated (this is probably a reason most people book it, it's really romantic and lovely it just felt a bit "difficult" to constantly have to plan how to leave and come back etc)

It was amazing to see all the animals in nature...monkeys everyday a few feet away, frogs, squirrels, mongoose, birds etc The staff were also so friendly, and the food was amazing. Get the rice and curry as it's the best value for money and always perfect.

This property is very affordable and also is very clean the design has lots of character and I loved the layout. It is quite leafy all around so you may get a few mosquito bites but the upside of this is that we saw friendly little monkeys around the pool area each day! it is up a very very steep hill however the staff can order you a tuk tuk very easily for you to get around so we never had to actually walk up the hill. The main reason we liked this hotel was the staff, the three men that looked after us were AMAZING they did everything they possibly could to welcome us and be helpful, they ordered us taxis immediately every time we went out, they brought delicious fruit juices to our room and offered us free breakfasts and tea- the staff are the main reason I would recommend this lovely villa, and when we return in February to get married I will be recommending this one to all of our guests!

Location is bit far from beach, and its on a cliff so vehicle have a struggle to reach there.

Rooms were spacious Staff is super helpful Breakfast was decent can improve, same with dinner.
