The WiFi could be a little better

The property is a steal in this price, it’s not like a typical hostel but more like a well kept hotel. The staff is incredibly kind, the rooms were neat and smelled nice. The location is quite convenient and near the lake. The breakfast was a good English breakfast, they had complimentary dinner as well, but I didn’t eat at hostel.

The wifi didn't connect at all, but the owner was helpful in providing me with a hotspot. It's also a bit out of the way, though not a problem if you like walking.

Free dinner and breakfast! The staff were so lovely, and I felt super comfortable here. It was easy to make friends, and the rooms were like hotel rooms with very comfy beds and nice bathrooms. A very affordable stay and I met lovely people with whom I could continue my travels.

Dorm rooms only have 3 (quite comfortable) beds with a shared bathroom and AC. Dinner is also included and a good way to meet other travellers.

I really enjoyed my time at the Funk bunks! The host were so friendly and very helpful. Whenever we had a question or a problem they helped us! The breakfast was good: toast, eggs, marmelade and magarine. The dinner was also very good! Always vegeterian :). I met a lot of other people there who traveled alone! The location was also perfect: not in the City but very close... just a 5-10min walk to the Lake!

Really nice place to stay in Kandy. The guy who runs the place is really friendly and helpfull. He does everything by himself, and makes a nice (simple) breakfast and dinner. Good location nearby the lake. I would definitely recommend to stay here

Very cosy. Not too far from the center ,very vlose to the lake. Clean and good for socializing with other backpackers. The manager is adorable , very helpful, was always making sure we had everything we needed, and offered us free diner, fruits.

It was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was nice and cold. There were a lot of other social people in the hostel and the host even put all the tables together to have a nice dinner with everyone. Breakfast and dinner is included. Would definitely recommend!

The receptionist is very kind, the hostel is very clean and breakfast is very nice. Perfect location. They offer free water for guest, this is amazing!

I met some nice backpackers in the hostel by the lake. When I wanted to extend my stay and switch to a private room in the hostel on the hill, they got me a tuktuk to move from one to the other. They helped me find a scooter to rent and gave me recommendations on taking the train towards ella. When I wanted to store my luggage for a few days they arranged that as well. Such friendly and helpful people. And nice rooms as well.

What a refreshing change. 3 minute walk to the Lake and the Pickme app only charged 180 rupees from the railway station. We stayed at the single bed dorm room which was better than the rooms at star hotels. Everything worked perfectly as it should. We had a wonderful stay with them. The bathroom had all toiletries free and great hot water. Had a splendid Lankan breakfast, best we have had so far. Kapila made sure we were comfortable with his smile and services. The lounge was comfortable, Wi-Fi was super fast. Really five star

A bit of an old school hotel vibe with served breakfast Some dorm rooms are more spacious than others. Mine (access from the front garden) was very squeezed. Also shower not working properly, with extremely hot water and no pressure otherwise... Annoyingly card payment is not accepted, however advertised on booking.com Location is 30min walk away from tourist centre (tuktuk option is available!)

Owner/manager is very kind Bed and pillow very comfortable Cleanliness Breakfast is OK (little crepe x2, toast x2, omelette, tea/coffee)
