We loved the staff, who were kind, thoughtful and very attentive. I’m sorry we did not learn the name of the lady who checked us in as she was superb! Also Saranga, the pool supervisor was very attentive, superb at his job and made us feel very special. Our room was..well, wow! No idea how we managed to get the upgrade but the suite was incredible!! All rooms face the sea, pool and garden. Restaurant was good, lovely selection of food, but the soups were my fave!

United KingdomThe hotel does not arrange taxis and they advised that we had to go outside to pick one up. Then we had to negotiate fares and trust we were paying a fair price for where we needed to go. If the hotel does not provide transportation then they should advise on taxi fares so the guests do not over pay and feel confident in getting in one.

PortugalThe pool was constantly dirty, the grass area could be cleaner (a lot of cigarette butts on the floor), the pool/beach towels were in bad condition and the buffet choices were pork-heavy. The overall facilities need an uplift and are very outdated (such as tv in the room and beds).

Calm place at the beach for a relaxing holiday. The beach is suitable for swimming because of the coral reef but the water is not transparent as the water comes in from many rivers. On the other side from the reef there is a good spot for surfing. We enjoyed playing table tennis and billiard. There’s evening entertainment with some live music.

CanadaThe security at the beach wasn’t very helpful when I wanted lounger by the fence ( inside the premises). He wasted time by looking for pool staff. Eventually I had to drag one myself.
This beach is one of the reasonably calm beaches in this area. Otherwise the west coast is reputed to be very rough. The breakfast covers continental as well as local dishes. Adding pol rotti and Kiri pani would be nice.

QatarOverall Hotel is old, need some renovation, Rooms are old. The playing room for Billiard and Table tennis has a horrible smell because of Humidity, we couldn't even enter. I asked for a special dinner set up for my wife birthday near the Sea. They are asking for 50 USD per person even for my 12 years son, so 200 USD for 4 pax. Too much overpriced.
The hotel is big, nice garden, Food was very good and staff are kind and focus on answering customer expectations. Sea view form the rooms is nice. the sandy beach is large and clean

AustraliaIt was OK, but too many large tourist groups use this hotel and would look for something different next time with a better price. I arrived with a tour and booked additional nights myself. The process is confusing, and the cashier is in another part of the hotel. If you leave early in the morning, it will not be open, and nobody tells you this. My new booking was room only, and I asked about adding the breakfast and dinner package. They gave me the prices but wouldn't allow me to add to my booking. I ended up spending my money elsewhere.
The location is great and the beach very clean for Asia. My room looked out over the ocean and was comfortable.

Staff were very polite and courteous. The hotel was as expected and we enjoyed our stay overall. It was a peaceful place to stay and relax.

United Arab Emirates-Shower curtain in one of the rooms was dirty & needed to be changed -Issue with water draining after showers This is outside of the hotels control but when walking on the beach be prepared to be approached by locals trying to sell their merchandise. This was unnerving/intimadating at times.
-Staff were accommodating (we asked to move rooms due to a damp smell-this was no problem) -Suites were spacious with nice balcony and good AC -Good wifi -Good range of food options at breakfast -Lovely location on a long beach -Entertainment on all nights that we were there (piano players, fire show, drum band)

United Kingdomservice easily the worst I have experienced in Sri Lanka. some good service staff seemed rude. it was difficult to communicate with reception and customer service staff. the staff here work with local taxi drivers to overcharge you. all other hotels I visited in Sri Lanka help you get reasonable price taxis. process here l when you ask for an airport transfer is to ask you to speak to a group of tuk tuk driver from roadside who will change you 4 time more than anywhere else in country and there is no other options as hotel is at isolated location. also on last day we ordered takeaway breakfast to take on our journey. got taxi at planned time and no hotel staff were at reception or anywhere to get the food. had to leave without it and just leave keys on desk. would not stay here again.
Outside areas are spacious and nice. Rooms good size, clean and modern. Wi-Fi very good. No power cuts here like most other places. Amazing breakfast. good for relaxing sunbathing break

PakistanI would recommend that they improve on their daily menu as it requires a bit of updating. Their Chef is more than competent as demonstrated by him on the special dinner that we got.
This was our fourth visit to the Palms, which in itself is a testimonial of our fondness for the hotel. We were treated like 'celebrities'. They even gave us a royal sit down dinner just for the two us and also upgraded us to a suite which was a surprise and the food on that night was exceptional. Amazing experience.

We had a short trip with my family, since we are travelling around Srilanka. We had one night stay in the hotel. Location, garden, beds are very good. Staff is very supportive and friendly, they provided for us additional bed and cot for kids. Beach and ocean also amazing, suit for kids as well. Hotel is following COVID prevention measures.
