The stay at The Sun House turned out to be a special during of my traveling in Sri-Lanka. Very comfortable hotel, friendly staff, beautiful design, excellent food. It was not just a beautiful hotel but a nice feeling as if I was at home )) and it was so nice to look through the books, all small interesting details like pictures, sculptures, etc. The garden with a swimming pool area is not big but lovely and I found a perfect place for yoga. Thanks a lot to everyone in the hotel! I highly recommend it.

The room was huge, the photos did not do it justice. Plenty of fresh water in the room, air conditioner, hairdryer, bath salts etc. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. The whole hotel was decorated beautifully. The gardens are idyllic. Could not fault the staff. They made the stay. Breakfast was scrumptious.

Our room was a bit cramped - I think the desk and chair were more of a hindrance than a help. Otherwise it was great.

This is a little piece of heaven! Such a beautifully restored hotel, stunning interior, peaceful pool area. My room are beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The team of staff were wonderfully attentive and kind to me during my stay. Food is excellent. The hotel is about a 15 min walk from Galle Fort and provides a quiet haven from the bustling town.

Fantastic property with great staff all around. We sampled quite a few different items from the breakfast and dinner menu and all were well presented, proportioned and full of flavor. The Merchant room was large and comfortable, facing the outdoor courtyard and swimming pool - highly recommended. The staff at the bar made fantastic cocktails and around the property there was always someone to help you with anything that you required. Great living spaces, both indoor and outdoor! The fort and other landmarks in Galle are walking distance or a few tuk tuk strokes away. Can't recommend this property enough, it was a great way for us to leave our life behind and sink into holiday mode.

Everything! Our stay was amazing, we were looked after so well by brilliant staff, and the accommodation is interesting and lovely. Breakfast was fantastic, the Sri Lankan hoppers were our favourite. Hotel organised a great tuk tuk driver too who took us around Galle, we really enjoyed our stay, they even made us a packed breakfast for our early morning train to Columbo - really kind and thoughtful. Thank you so much for making our holiday so special

We rated restaurants in Galle Fort higher but the menu had a good selection especially having availability for something during day (casually at poolside too), and the breakfast was excellent!

We could not fault The Sun House (we stayed in January). It is the most beautiful hotel we've ever stayed - absolutely stunning. We were upgraded and our room and bathroom was gorgeous but we are in no doubt our original room would have been too! Every single detail was charming. The hotel is in a tranquil hilltop spot, peaceful but easily walkable to the centre and the Fort area. So many lovely places to sit outside with a drink, stare up at the trees watching the monkeys or listening to prayers drifting over the city. The staff and owners were so welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed at all times. Ronald the manager was wonderful and gave us some good tips, sorted out our taxi to the airport and booking another night for us when we decided to stay longer and head straight to the airport from Galle rather than have a night in Colombo as originally planned. As our final stop in Sri Lanka it made it especially hard to say goodbye!

Beautiful, spacious and quiet hotel, all the details in furnishings seem right, you get the impression to be in someone’s actual house back in time. All staff is super friendly and attentive. Just a short walk from Galle centre, but in a very calm environment. Bonus: no plastic bottles, you get as much filtered water as you want.

We LOVED the sun house, even though we have always stayed in really nice places in Sri Lanka, this was by far the best. The location is great, you pay around 200 LKR to go to Galle Fort. The garden and the house itself is beautiful. The food was great, one of the best we had in Sri Lanka. Really good value for money and super tasty. And the staff was simply amazing. There was always someone around and usually we even didn’t have to say anything- when we left the room, they would think of cleaning our room, if we lay down by the pool they would bring water. They remember all our wishes for breakfast (eg no bananas) and we never had to ask for it again. I want to particularly point out the service of Priyantha and Tharindu, they were lovely and always had a nice story to tell or a recommendation to give. Thank you so much for making our stay special
