Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesThe rainforest is superb, the views stunning and the treehouse was great fun. We expected all of those things but what we didn't expect was to meet the most amazing guy in Arun, the resident naturalist. The highlight of our stay was the minutes and hours we spent with Arun. He is so knowledgeable and passionate about all animals and plants but he is also a real free spirit and general all round hero. He was fantastic with our boys and we all had such a fantastic time with him and learn so much from him.

United KingdomIntimate setting meant service by naturalist is somewhat overbearing. Huge pressure to pay for activities. If you want to relax in nature, try to feel comfortable saying no.l to excursions. Own excursions are very inaccessible even with own transport.
Beautiful setting, really in the middle of nowhere if you’re into that. The owners and restaurant staff are lovely and welcoming. Food was amazing. Accommodation was clean, comfortable and unique.

CyprusThe road to the property is in poor condition. There was no Wi-Fi. The water heater tank could be bigger - I once ran out of hot water while washing my hair (medium length) in the shower, not even mentioning filling the bath. If you don’t have your own means of transport, you have to rely on the staff to arrange trips for you. For reference, here are the prices driver asked for the round trip by small car + waiting time enough to finish the activities: Horton plains 12000 lkr, Lipton seat 10000 lkr, Udawalawe 17000 lkr. There is no terminal to pay by card, they take record of your card’s info and charge you later.
Great little house with wonderful views. The food was very good - we got to choose Sri Lankan or western breakfast, and one from 3-4 options of main dish for dinner (starters were fixed but good anyway). Staff was always doing their best whenever we needed assistance.

United Arab EmiratesNo Wifi. Chalets are not well sealed, too many insects, frogs and lizards get inside. Nearby temple starts chant for 1 hour at 5AM every morning. The chanting is atmospheric but it is also loud and there is no way to sleep through it.
Food excellent. View at location is outstanding. Guide did a fantastic job. Chalets are stunning.

DenmarkBut. This place was very short staffed, two people working in total none of whom were very good at english(however, they were all very nice), no manager in sight the days we stayed there - i expect more paying 130$ a night. Bad dinner and expensive menu, the fried rice and chicken could’ve been straight out of a froeezing bag, while being about 2x the price of the restaurants we’ve been to in the country. Also, you’re in the middle of nowhere - a part of the charm - but not if the food is bad, because you really have no other options. Drinks, smoothies, and fruit smoothies also about 2x the usual restaurant prize. Really limited activites to do, so only go here id you want to chill with a nice view and a lot of space(bring a lot of snacks and fruit) The private pool, which added about 40-50$ to the prize was very cold, no way to heat it - don’t opt for it unless you like ice baths. A lot of ants in the house/bungalow, even woke up with one in our bed in the morning, no mosquito net for the big bed to keep the bugs out. Almost no attention to the food preferences and allergies we noted the staff about. Fairly easy fixes to these peoblems, that could make for a wonderful stay.
This place has a lot of potential - absolutely wonderful view (despite the two trees right in front of the porch), nice spacious houses, and a good bed. THE VIEW

United Arab EmiratesDinner was very disappointing - 2 thin slices of pineapple for pudding is not funny. Would be so much better if they did authentic Sri Lankan cuisine instead of very poor western food. No guides to show us around - disappointing Telling us at check out that the credit card machine was broken in the middle of nowhere does not help. Only wifi is in the dining area and they forgot to renew the package
Location was great and views fantastic

Russia- there was a mix up regarding the room we booked so we waited in another and tried to resolve the issue. the manager was very helpful and understanding but it made us even more exhausted after the long road - there is neither built in ventilation nor ac, just a fan. so if you keep the balcony door open, esp. at night, the place got swamped with insects. without open balcony door you will suffocate. there is a mosquito net for bed, however - the linens were not quite clean - the road to the hotel isn't good - not much places you can go by feet, you need tuktuk or car - there is no card reader so you can pay via money transfer of cash
- the view is nice and you get a feeling of tranquility surrounded by nature, lots of birds - all staff members are quite nice and trying to do their best - the food is generally good, some meals were delicious, food can be served in the room - bathroom is spacious - good wifi - good communication with the manager via whatsapp, he was really helpful with all issues we had and with a transfer
