Not even sure this is a negative but it isn't super close to the surf area, but short walk along the beach of 200lkr tuktuk solves that.

Really great place and kids lover the pool, massive room and opposite a fantastic cafe Flows.

I think it would have been great if the hotel could offer some filtered water options for their guest to fill up their water bottles or glasses. As it was we had to go to the nearest restaurant or supermarket to buy bottled water, which add up to a lot of plastic bottles. Also there is no staff at the hotel after sunset till next morning.

Location is really good, only 200 m from the beach. Breakfast was excellent, varied and plenty. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

We like everything.

It was incredible two weeks at the Tropical Villa! I love this place so much! Me and my husband enjoyed spending our vacation here. Huge thanks to the team who makes this villa such comfortable, cozy and safe place! We had a spacious and clean room on the first floor. It was so cool to wake up and go straight to the pool and then practice yoga in the yard. After that we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast (scramble, sausages, bacon, salad, fresh juice, fruits, bread toasts with butter and jam, coffee). Location is top. Ocean, fish point, different cafes, money exchange point, bus station are super close (2-5 minutes walk). Most of the surf spots and a big grocery store are about 10-15 minutes walk. Staff are super friendly, attentive and helpful. Don’t hesitate to talk to them and ask if you need something. One day we asked about a safari tour and the next day we got round trip transfer, guide and jeep (exploring the Yala Park).

The bed was a bit creaky, so it was noisy when you turned over. There is a sort of closet but no where to actually hang clothes and no drawers.

The staff were nice and always around to help with anything. The property seemed well taken care of. Pool was nice. Breakfast was made to order and good. Rooms were big and clean. Air con worked great. Great to have a fridge and basics like a knife and cups. Easy walk to beach.

Absolutely amazing. The room was clean and spacious, very comfortable bed. We loved the pool after long trip from Colombo. Great fruit plate and tea for breakfast. Staff was very helpful. Surrounding is weird but this place is like hidden gem. Recommended!

There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this property. I would stay here again and again.

This was our favourite place we have stayed in Sri Lanka. It is a beautiful, tranquil and relaxing oasis tucked into a side road between the two main streets in Weligama. The room was spacious, the bathroom was very fresh and clean and the fridge/kettle/sink unit was a very welcome addition. The staff and owners were the kindest, warmest people and went out of their way to make us feel at home. We got some delicious ice late welcome drinks on arrival and the breakfast was tasty and plentiful. We even saw Sri Lanka’s endemic purple faced langurs and kingfishers while sitting in the garden. Would recommend this place to everyone.

Such a quiet hotel close to everything and to the beach with its surfing spots. We loved the spacious rooms and very clean swimming pool. It was so practical to be there with children. We will come back!

Beautifully furnished room with a nice bathroom that offers a great rain shower with hot water. The swimming pool is very inviting and the staff was exceptionally helpful, very accommodating, and friendly. We enjoyed the rich breakfast very much. The location is close to the beach. I can really recommend this place highly.

This was one of my favourite stays in Sri Lanka. The location and room was an extremely relaxing and calming break from the bustle of Welligama. The pool is a massive bonus for when you don’t want to swim in the dirty ocean after a rainy day.

Every thing was perfect for us :)

The villa very close to the Welligama beach which is ideal if you want to have some drinks with some breeze looking at surfers or book some surfing lessons (well worth it!). There are also a number of food courts. Most importantly, the staff make you feel very welcome. Not only do they provide good service (what you expect from a Villa), but they are also observant and friendly. Even though we went as a couple, I think this Villa is well worth for Families, friends or solo travelers because of the friendly staff and the beautiful location. The Breakfast was amazing my stay. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. The entire property felt well maintained. The Pool is cleaned frequently and nice. We definitely will return to this great Villa.

Fruit platter at breakfast was my favourite while my partner’s favourite was the omelette.
