Not much! Perhaps the shower pipe leaked a bit so as a result the pressure was low; and the bathroom light flickered when it was on.

Huge, clean room in a lovely sort of garden set up on the river - but with a pool which our girls shot in to immediately. The food was fantastic. The owner was very professional. It was about 20 minutes ish to the Safari which was ideal.

....the place is about 300- 400 meter from main road-- if you don't have own vehicle, you need to walk a bit .... but therefore it's very quiet - no cars as it's "in the narure"

Very nice hotel, with a Pool ( its actually larger as on the pictures- approx 20 m long); excellent rooms; location is just next to a nice river; very good breakfast; - we had as well dinner which was very good too...

Unfortunately, there is no mosquito net, so we got stung several times at night. The sunbeds were all but one broken and the mattresses on them mostly moldy.

Beautiful garden next to the river where you can swim in the pool and watch local birds at the same time.

Great hidden spot among bushes. Beautiful garden and access to the swimming pool overlooking the river with birds chirping above your head. Magical! Book without a further thought - wish we could have stayed there a little bit longer :)

Fully deserves it's wonderful reviews. Our room was huge and spotless, the infinity pool was a good size, clean and set in beautiful gardens where we could watch the iguanas on the riverbed. We had dinner and breakfaat and both were delicious with lots of variety. Wish we had booked for longer as it's a great place to relax, as well as a base for safari. We booked the safari and onward transport through the hotel. Can't ask for more. Would happily recommend and stay again!

Single beds a bit on the hard side, but the children slept very well in them.

We had such a pleasent stay at Vimanra!Spacious and clean family room. Nice pool in a lovely garden just below the cozy terrace. Extremely attentive and serviceminded owner; he fixed everything for us. Meals served at our convenience. We highly recommend the afternoon safari for jetlagging Europeans; we had a wonderful experience with lots of different animals.

The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The swimming pool was great and the location was very peaceful. We really enjoyed the rice and curry evening meals. Tharanga arranged a great safari for us and even lent us his own binoculars as we didn’t have any

It’s a hidden gem. Fantastic value for the price. The owner went out of his way to accommodate our requests. From poolside you can watch water birds and other wildlife plentiful by the river. We also had some of the best curry we’ve had in Sri Lanka.

Everything was good - the only suggestion would be to have somewhere to place/hang a few clothes. In some places we have stayed they have a wooden clothes rack which works really well.

We had the upstairs room with a balcony and it was lovely - very spacious and clean, and very tastefully decorated. Since the place is a little out of town we had our meals there and especially enjoyed the Sri Lankan breakfast! The setting by the river is lovely and it was so nice to relax by the pool after our journey there and again after the safari. Our host organised a safari for us with Nishandra and he was fabulous - both knowledgeable and respectful of the animals.

Nothing it was great!

Great location, very peaceful, super spacious room and bathroom, great breakfast and dinner, friendly staff and lovely pool. We booked our safari through the hotel and our guide Nishantha was unbelievable, he had superb knowledge and a really sharp eye pointing out animals and birds we wouldn’t have otherwise noticed. He really was exceptional.

The bathroom was a little smelly sometimes. The bed and/or the pillow was to hard, it hurt my neck/shoulder a little. The place can be a little hard to find when arriving but the location is nice so that is okay.

The place was so nice and especially considering the price. Great pool, nice garden and view to the river. Big rooms and clean. The breakfast was nice. I would definitely stay here again if I come back to Udawalawa.

There is very little to complain about. Tea in the room would have been appreciated and a table and chairs outside the room. This may well happen as the room was very new.

Great room which was a new addition to the property. Large room with a view over the pool and lake. Lovely pool and tranquil surroundings. Food was excellent and the service was great. Safari arranged without any fuss and a cab to get us to our next destination.

Nothing really, just keep in mind you are far away from everything, you cant really go anywhere by foot and the wifi/internet is sometimes slow.

Very good value for the money. Friendly staff, fixed great breakfast and dinner, helped organize Safari and taxi to ella. Beautiful clean pool. Comfy spacious rooms, a/c, hot water. Would come again :)
