Very friendly and society atmosphere! Best place to meet people in Weligama:) Super friendly owner and his dogs ! If you want to go out and meet people, it's a great place. Close to the beach. Will be back for sure.

The place was really dirty, looks like...I don't even know. Know one is cleaning and caring of that place. Lots of dogs entering the room. It was so disgusting....

The bathroom and kitchen were not very clean and the sink and the shower was clogged the whole time I was there - maybe no one mentioned it but it should have been clear when they cleaned in the morning. Also the dorm I stayed in was incredibly hot. The top bunk mosquito net was also too low, so that mosquitoes could still harass me on my feet.

Nice vibe and the owner was really nice and helpful and made me feel very welcome!

The private rooms are a bit far from the common places of the hostel (like 2-3 minutes walking), which is nice for the privacy, but we never got to use the common areas a in was a bit awkard for us to go to the main place and mingle with the whole group (all though mahesh was welcoming). We were expecting a nicer vibe but i guess if you sleep there with everyone yoj will get that for sure. The place of the private rooms was really clean (the common places of the hostel are quite messy hahaha but i guess thats just the backpackers style?) But our bathroom could use some work. The cover of the wc was broken. There is no air conditioning, just a fan that is quite noisy. We had earplugs and were fine. Also would be ice to have a rack or a helf or anything simple to put your stuff in not having your backpacks and clothes spread all over the floor with the sand and water.

The location was very nice (lika 5 minutes walking from the beach) and Mahesh the host was always inviting everybody to do activities together, making conveesation to everyone, and even had some vip discounts for parties haha. He arranges a whatsapp group where guests of the hostel make plans, order takeout food together, and sometimes organize trips nearby. We would totally recommend it for solo travelers , specially of they are planning to stay for a while in Weligama and hope to make some friends. For couples, if you are in it for the vibe I would suggest maybe sleep in the common rooms rather than the private ones (they are far apart)

The owner tried to push me four times into changing my booking so he did not need to pay for the booking fee. I understand that he wants that, however it made me feel very uncomfortable. The place was also not clean, was cleaned once over three weeks on my own request. I am happy with the other travellers I met, that was great! But there are some improvements possible. Dogs are that are part of the place are barking every night. Keep in mind to bring earplugs

There were four fans in the room, one for every two beds. The fan next to my bed was broken and I spent the night tossing and turning. The bed was rough. Bad sleep. The only bathroom in the hostel is in the 8-bed dorm, so there were people coming in and out all day and night long. The manager was an absentee. I saw multiple people arrive at around three, who had to wait four hours or more to check in because he had disappeared. Conditions were kind of gross and could easily be improved with a little elbow grease.

The owner puts most of his effort into making sure the vibe is lively, and he succeeds. This place attracts a lot of fun-loving people and is a good place to meet other travelers. The wifi was also good.

But to be fair, the hostel it self could be better. The kitchen was quite dirty. The rooms were fine but keep in mind that there is no airconditioning. There are fans, but for me it didn't do the job, so this resulted to not being able to sleep at night during the heat (but that could just be my issue). The bathroom is also very basic as to be expected for the price, but the shower sometimes hardly worked. Overall it was okay, especially for the price.

The vibe at this hostel was amazing. The host is very friendly and kind and it really feels like coming home.

I'm sorry but I was disappointed with this hostel, it was a bit messy, many things laying around also in the kitchen and very much used, I think it needs some renewal and for the 1700 rs I paid I think is too much money compared to other hostels at 1500 rs that were very good value for money. It feels like it might have been a very good hostel in early days and now it's being left as it is without much care for it. I'm not a complainer usually but this is my honest thought. If you want clients to be happy for that amount of money there should be more effort put in making this place look like 1700 rs!

The owner was a nice guy, he even prepared me breakfast and I didn't know it was included. The dogs were sweet and the amaca in the garden very relaxing. Mosquito nets over beds is a plus.If you don't care about the things I wrote above it is an ok hostel for a few nights.

Sorry to say but the dog, worried me and may worry others. Although it never barked at me, we both knew he was the boss. Felt uneasy around it.

Owner is a great guy, friendly, helpful and always trying to arrange activities.
