Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.

EstoniaI went through the reception when I checked in, because I wanted to pay for the booking. The lady in the reception didn't understand, and only offered me the door code as well as the key box code (which I already received via sms). I thought that perhaps they'll process the payment automatically then via Booking.com. After checking out I received a phone call and a text message saying ''Hello you not pay for room''. After a while the reception finally sent me the invoice via email. Given this the payment process was confusing. Of course the reason for this was that the receptionist didn't speak English at all. While overall the room was great, I think a kettle would have been nice. After all, there were some cups, so a kettle would have made sense and perhaps some tea and coffee. Usually that's quite standard with hotels. Also, the noise insulation wasn't very good in the hotel. I heard some men chatting and laughing from the other hotel room(s), so in the evening there was some noise. Not too bad, but still disturbing. Indeed the bathroom's floor is also very slippery, I nearly fell!
The hotel was nice and comfortable, also the room was clean and spacious. Overall a good experience.

It was easy to access the place, also it is nice to be able to unlock the doors with code when checking in later. The place was clean, no city sounds, nice breakfasts and very nice staff.

FinlandChecking in wasnt as easy as expected. I didnt get SMS for door code, and number on the door did not answer (or call back before 2 hours). Luckily there was a lady there after all who could log me in, even she didnt speak a word of english. There was a private parking but the gate and key/door thing was from the 80´s or 90´s. Breakfast should have been until 11:00 but at 10:40 everything was closed.
I didnt understand about the good ratings about the location when i logged in. At ugly intersection, opposite the street from Lidl and some Lithuanian supermarkets. But after spending a night there i did. Panevezys is so ugly and boring city that the best location is the one that is easy to leave it. And near supermarkets if you need to do some shopping before leaving.

LatviaOne thing that I did not like was that breakfast on weekends start only at 8:00 am. This was too late for me. Second thing I did not like that the pictures used for the room where not correct. The room was not which was presented so I felt misguided.
Breakfast was good. The location is quite good, it is easy to find and go to local eatery. I liked the check in process and the fact that you can self check in quite easy and fast.

LithuaniaTV screen could be larger. There were only 3 glasses and fridge in the room while kettle was available only at the reception downstairs. Pretty complicated to hang more than one towel in the bathroom - there is simply no other places to keep bath assets.
Comfortable beds, good location (walking distance from the city centre), breakfast was decent but good enough (and included into price), clean and tidy, large parking slot nearby, easy access to the hotel room.
